The title explains it all. We talk about conspiracies surrounding the Pokémon world.

Pokemon Black and White introduces a new game environment, a bustling metropolis based on New York City. That's not just us saying that: "[D]irector Junichi Masuda revealed that Unova (Isshu) was modeled after New York City; the games' Castelia City takes the place of Lower Manhattan and the Sky Arrow Bridge serves as a stand in for the Brooklyn Bridge."

Neat, huh? Let's take a look at the map! So there's the Brooklyn Bridge, and there's Central Park, and there's Manhattan, and right below is...

Oh.

Wow.

So, how does Pokémon choose to depict the sensitive, emotionally charged setting of Ground Zero, a literal scar on our greatest city, left by our nation's most profound contemporary tragedy?

Obviously, they can't say the devastation was caused by terrorists. So they concocted a story about a falling meteor -- an object of unspeakable power that was quarantined by the government and is now being coveted by Team Plasma. Even weirder, another meteor dropped this Pokemon near the city;

http://bulbapedia.bu...et/wi...okémon)

Why do we bring him up? Take a look at his Bulbapedia article. His official height is given as 9 feet 11 inches.

...

So, hey kids, gotta catch 'em all! Especially that new, super-rare Pokémon that is both the very embodiment of and directly responsible for 9/11.

And sorry, that 9/11 conspiracy stuff is total bull. Kyurem is 9 feet 10 inches, that's a construction zone / desert and nowhere near where Kyurem supposedly fell via meteor. That would be Giant Chasm, the foresty part in the upper right corner. There was a Cracked article about this, and the comments were like "Are you serious none of this stuff is true at all"

inb4 you killed your rival's Raticate, another thing that in no way actually happened. Your rival in the Kanto games is a dick and would obviously just box the Raticate for something better, like Gyarados, Growlithe, or Exeggcute, two of which he adds to his party since the battle on the S.S. Anne. The only Pokemon to, canonically or otherwise, be killed in the games is that Marowak.

Oh my god guys, did you know that in Red, Blue and Yellow, you can totally use STRENGTH to move the truck in the S.S. Anne harbor? Mew is under it. And if you get all 151 Pokemon in the Hall of Fame and talk to Professor Oak, you get taken to see Tracy and he gives you a choice of a Ho-oh, Pikablu or Yoshi.

Oh, and if you you have your party consist of Unown that spell CELEBI in your party, all level 100, and go to the shrine in Ilex Forest, you get Celebi and a G/S ball.

Those are some of the ones I remember.

Then there's that one about Lavender Town's theme causing kids to suicide with subliminal messages or something.

The area in real-life Japan where the games' region lines up is also called Kanto.

Saffron City is located in the same place on this map as Tokyo.

Goldenrod City is located in the same place as Kyoto.

Mount Silver is located where the real-life Mount Fuji is.

Cinnabar Island is located on the island of Izu Oshima. If you recall, Cinnabar Island is destroyed by a volcanic eruption between the first and second generations. Izu Oshima is home to Mount Mihara, which is a volcano.

Vermillion City is located where the real-life city of Yokohama stands.

Cianwood City is the only city whose corresponding real-life city is not considered part of Honshu, but rather of Shikoku. It corresponds with the city of Tokushima.

Hoenn is actually turned sideways to fit onto that map. It's on the island of Kyushu.

The city of Slateport corresponds with the real-life location of Nagasaki.

Mossdeep City is located on the real-life island of Tanegashima. Just like Mossdeep City is home to the Space Center, so Tanegashima is home to Tanegashima Space Center.

Sootopolis City is located on the real-life island of Yakushima. Yakushima's biggest mountain is Miyanoura-dake, which may or may not be volcanic. I'll let you know when I find out.

Evergrande City is located on the real-life island of Amami Oshima, where (I'm not making this up), a species of deadly poisonous snake lives and mongooses are trained to kill them. Sound familiar?

Sinnoh in reality is the island of Hokkaido, which is Japan's largest prefecture. The capital of Hokkaido is Sapporo, which is located in roughly the same location on that map as Jubilife City.

The port city of Otaru in Hokkaido corresponds with the location of Canalave City. The islands where one can catch Darkrai and Cresselia correspond with the locations of Teuri Island and Yagishiri Island.

The Pokemon League is located on the island of Kunashiri. Unlike that spot in the game, this island is volcanic.

Mount Asahi is in the same location on that map as Mount Coronet.

I think we all should know that Unova is based on New York City.

Well in BW2 It is reveled that Kyurem didn't fall from a meteor but was created after Zekrom and Reshiraim split apart. Basically he's the leftover parts of the original dragon Pokemon that would become Zekrom and Resiraim. Further proof that the 9/11 thing is BS like you said. Edited by Ponymon Trainer Red

Dragonair was supposed to evolve into Gyarados and Karpador into Dragonite.

Furthermore Gengar is Clefairy´s shadow.

I totally love and fear the fact that Nintendo REALLY went and put that little horrible easter egg in there, almost as if they were making the Pokémon Islands a strange parallel to our world...if that was their intention, but if it's NOT then ho hum.

But honestly, there's one conspiracy theory I can't believe Nintendo DON'T fuel more fire for because it would be wonderfully fun.

You all know of...it. That thing that can only be found in Red/Blue/Yellow. The unholy abomination whose entire world is nothing but a glitched abscess of fear and agony.

I speak of course...about The Missingno.

Legends say this creature has many forms, but the classical L-block-style form is its most known variant.

There are several kinds of Missingno, but this one is the most famous. What IS it? Where did it come from? What does it represent?

Most folks will tell you that it was simply the random mesh of data stuffed into the game after Nintendo's ideas to include more than 151 Pokemon were scrapped for the game. That it is simply nothing more than an error handler for the game's developers whenever the game tries to access a nonexistent Pokémon.

But I say to you that this is something more, something far worse and destructive than just an error handle. I say to you that this abomination is nothing short of the Apokélypse.

All we know of it is that its type is Bird/Normal, but in Yellow it is Normal/999 (a type that does not even EXIST), that it stands with a shadow over you at 10 feet tall, and weighs a colossal 3507 pounds of infernal abyss.

They say it may appear at Cinnabar Island or even upon the Seafoam Islands, washed ashore within the tumultuous depths of fury and sorrow. An old man is said to be the key to it all, wise but mysterious within Viridian City. No one knows he is, or what he truly entails, but they say that if you allow him to show you the ways of the Pokéball, and fly to Cinnabar Island or Fuchsia City swiftly...then it shall appear upon the beaches of the islands.

All we know of this terror, is that very few ever live to tell the tale, and even then, even fewer manage to escape its grasp without them or their Pokémon becoming scarred forever by the strangest marks. Marks of numbers. Numbers that make no sense.

This one is an expansion on the "Cubone, Kangaskhan and M'" theory;

This one is an expansion on the "Cubone, Kangaskhan and M'" theory;

Oh dammit I KNEW I forgot something in my overdramatic novelisation of a glitch that ascended into fanon!

DAMN YOU LORD THEORETICAL! *shakes fiiiiiiiist*

But yeah I actually find the whole thing with Missingno to be fascinating stuff. The Kangaskhan/Cubone stuff DOES make sense since one of the lost data pieces was about an evolutional state involving Marowak, Cubone and/or Kangaskhan. And honestly the two are quite similar enough for this to have been possible so...yeah.

Personally I always believed in my headcanon (or whatever you wanna call it), that Missingno is the embodiment of Mother Marowak's anguish and suffering from her family's death, at the hands of Team Rocket. I mean there's even a ghost of her and everything! So maybe Missingno was her children or even herself moving away from the Tower.

Seriously, that massacre was messed up yo.

Um, I was told that in Gold and Silver, if you put all three dogs into the daycare together, you get a Celebii egg. Also, Green Version has nothing but shinys.
