Any recommendations for decent Fics to read?

Good evening/morning/afternoon/night everyone/pony/wolf/other-assorted-sentient-life-forms.

 

I need some reading material for the holidays. I'm nearing the end of my li'l fic collection on my Laptop.

I need some more!

 

Preferences:

 

Long please! 20,000+ words at least! (Unless it's incredibley awesome and I MUST read it^-^)

 

Topics: Comedy, Romance (Cross between the two if possible^-^ Manly!)

'Hie' Fics acceptable ONLY if they're well-written, non-Gary/Mary Sue/Stu things please.

 

Generally Upbeat, can have sad moments and just about any other sort as well e.g. Gore, dark Etc.

 

PLEASE! NO CLOP! I don't mind Clop being referenced or suggested but no actual clop-material please!

 

Also note: No humanized-pony please, other than that, I'd like at least 1 Official character (BG or otherwise.) as many OC's as there needs to be though.

 

 

If that seems a bit fussy, well, I guess it is. I like good fics, but despise poorly written garbage and annoyingly perfect day fics. Also, good recommendations or currently unread Fics (I have read a lot!)

will be rewarded....Somehow!

The best romance fic I've read is "The Games We Play". Rainbow Dash x "Mare Do Well". If that isn't an intriguing enough concept for you, I don't know what is. It's also very long; 100k+ words, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Well if you have some way of connecting to the internet on your phone (and assuming you have a smart phone) There is a mobile version of the site so you can read it on your phone thats what I do. I also use the chrome to phone app it makes it alot easier to get to each of the fictions

Meh...Only problem with that is that I'd need to connect to the internet for a while - which I can't do at night as the internet Hub thingy gets turned off

 

Also, I noticed that .Txt's always open up in a nice format on my phone (Galaxy Mini...Wooo.....)

Often the web pages open up oddly meaning I have to zoom around the page to read...

 

Which sucks! Alot!

Note, some of them will have either comedy or romance, but very few together, there are HiE fics, but I think all of these are very well written, in case you haven't read them yet. I'll try to at least give why it could be interesting for you to read if it doesn't meet many of the standards (even if you can easily go the link and read the description).

But yeah, it takes the whole "Not inmediate relationship" in a Appledash shipping fic to a good level, and plus, it's sequel, Pillow Thoughts II has even MORE stuff added, which is awesome.

But I want to have time to read it. It's +620.000 words long, and even though I have read stuff that was DOUBLE that quantity, I still need some time to read something THAT long. I don't think a it's so much as a crossover is it is something else. Sure, it probably has something similar to Fallout (I haven't played the game, so I wouldn't know), but from what I gather, if you enjoy a good adventure story, then it's worth a shot. That's all I could really say to be honest. But if it's good enough that people MADE IT A FRIGGIN HARDCOVER BOOK OF IT, occupying at least 5 books of normal size, I'd say it's probably good XD.

I searched FF......Then it stopped returning things that I hadn't read or didn't look to great...

I tried several of the 'Not so great' ones - Needless to say, all I had was an annoyingly Gary Stu-esque HiE fic

and two poorly written ShipFics. they all had potential, but were almost unreadably bad!

 

Ah well, I'll take your advice and search some more, I'd better find some....^-^
