What are bronies?

I know that bronies like MLP, but what are they REALLY?! what really are they?

what kind of people are bronies. I really love the show, but i dont worship it. Im a poor white guy living in a poor suburb. I have no job, but im starting working at market basket in 2 weeks. I dont play much video games. I really love music and movies. My brother is in a rock band, and he never bathes. (but then again, he is a rocker.) I think I like music more than my brother. I try to b e a pretty natural kind of guy. My Dad is very dangerous, and my mom is psycho. Im really REALLY poor.

When a stranger sees me walking down the street, he may say to himself: 'Thats a trashy white guy with headphones in.' (If they are a judgemental fuck.)

if you are a brony, I ask you one question: WHo are you?

Also, my clothes are perpetually in terrible shape.

i think of the word brony as just a name, whether you use it or not is your choice, and it shouldn't effect who you are as a human being if you say that MLP is why you love the world an tolerate and all that like it was a life changing thing, they why wernt you like that before is the question i would ask.

now to answer your question, i am Paul S Gibson aka Echo, i'm a white male from a scottish family, i have lived a longish life and been though so horrable experiences and lost so much, but yet i'm still here and im still a loud mouthed a :( hole who speaks his mind and doesn't f :( king care what other people think.. and this could go on and on but i don't want it to my point has been made.

Bronies are just normal everyday people from a variety of colors and shapes. I mean being a brony is to love watching MLP: FiM right? I don't see much of a difference between a brony and anyone else.

I am a 14 year old who was never really good at academics and one who gives his loyalty to God. I too love and enjoy music, it's the only thing that I can enjoy from hearing.

Bronies are really just a fandom, nothing more. People act like we're trying to change the "definition of masculinity" but really we're just fans of a show. Jeez.

NOTE: This is purely my own opinion and is not based on any kind of factual evidence. Just sayin. Assume that every sentence begins with "In my opinion..." or "What I personally believe is..."

What are bronies? This is a question that has been asked of the fandom ever since it started. To me, a brony is simply someone who enjoys the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic; no more, no less. Not everypony who likes the show wants to be a brony, however, and that's fine too. It's a title, if you will, completely optional. There are bronies who think bronies can only be males and that women have to be pegasisters. There are bronies who believe that ALL bronies should encompass the ideals of love and tolerance and shun those who do not. There are bronies who believe they are justified in defending themselves against accusations with angry sentiments and foul language and degrade other bronies for "just taking it". There are bronies who "really enjoy ponies". There are bronies who hate those that "really enjoy ponies" and say they can't be bronies.

It's hard to say in the end.

Personally, I am a simple man in his early twenties. I am unemployed (but not filing for disability, FOX news!). I'm looking for a job and have had quite a few interviews. It's tough, that's for sure. Luckily, I have parents who don't mind me crashing with them while I look for work and are even kind enough to throw me some spare cash to go hang with some friends once in a while.

I am ZStrike and I am a brony. I enjoy My Little Pony. That's pretty much my thoughts on the matter. It is my hope that no one takes any offense to my post as I meant no harm to anypony. :)

Edit: Just throwing more words in. Yay!

Bronies? Simple. Fans of My Little Pony. That is the ONLY requirement for being a brony. it's not like we're some cult or something that has Satanic entrance rituals.

I don't know, but most of them piss me off. Especially the community of Equestria Daily.

Can't I just be a guy who likes FiM without being called a brony?

The term 'Brony' is just a noun. It's the hobby of watching MLP: FiM and sometimes getting involved in the Brony community and creating fan-made content (Fanon). In other words, it's not a type of person, it's simply a hobby

What makes ME a good brony?! IF I WERE A BAD BRONY, I WOULDN'T BE LOGGED ON TO THIS FORUM, DISCUSSING IT WITH YA'!!!

A brony is a fan of My Little Pony who is outside the target demographic.

However, I believe a brony is only a brony if they choose to accept that title.

You can listen to a Justin Beiber a lot, but that doesn't make you a Beliber.

So, a brony is some person who is a fan of the show, and titles themselves as such. I guess.

It's nothing big, really. A brony' someone outside of the target demographic of My Little Pony who still watches the show. People don't need to take the word to the extreme.

I don't see how being a brony really alters who you really are. Like I am a 15 year old going into grade 10. I'm in academic and an honer student. I'm 6'1 and on my high school's basketball team. I'm a gamer and I have several friends however I don't know if they would accept me if I told them I am a brony so I don't. I've been lucky enough all my life to have someone my age next door yet I'm my family is working class poor. But by reading this thread I think we can all realize that although we are all of different economic states and have different tastes and overall very different lives but we all share a common interest. We all enjoy the show MLP and that's why we are chatting in this thread.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Nothing else to it. I hate how everyone seems to be making a big deal out of it, supportive or not. I personally am a cynical and generally unpleasant caucasian male who never showers, eats while taking a crap and faps to rule 34.

But I'm just one of us, of course!

I frequently edit my new posts to fix grammatical errors or to reword stuff, so sorry if I make it look like I'm forging my messages to change the meaning of anyone's replies or something.

Brony only defines a part of a person's taste. Not more, No less. It shouldn't define them as a human being. I have a deep love of the brony community and the show but I also have other interests, other hobbies, non brony friends, a religion, a home, an education, A lot of things. All these things together define me and brony is just a part of it.

I'm pretty cool. I think.

Also, new OC (it has a cutie mark this time!).

I dislike using the word brony for the same reasons I don't like calling myself an atheist. I gives the wrong impression. However much we try to say that being a brony implies nothing (and it doesn't) people will still have a certain view on us. They might think we are emotionally lacking or that we are all crazy about ponies enough to collect hundreds on them, even if they're really accurate. Some bronies aren't like that. And I hate the word brony because people think I'm like that.

For example, I took a Twilight figurine to school because it looked fantastic (plastic hair and brushable tail. Amazing idea). A person who I talked to asked how many ponies I have, and when I said about 5, he was shocked. He thought I had at least 20. No joke. He actually thought that. All because I'm a brony.

As a guy who likes definitions and clarity a brony is someone who regularly watch MLP:FiM, but I hesitate to say I'm a brony (even though I do watch MLP:FiM regularly) because of all the baggage.

Who am I? I'm me.

Other than that, I'm 14 and from a middle-high end middle class family who doesn't live in a suburb. I'm quiet, lazy, addicted to video games or the internet, I like cars (I go to Cars and Coffee every saturday). I am a pretty good artist, and enjoy making abstract art. I hate wearing long-sleeved shirts (they make me feel funny), and I haven't worn one in a whole year. I generally dislike dogs, and physical exercise. I like languages, and Minecraft. And I obvious have a pretty random brain, since most of what I typed has nothing to do with what comes before it. I also enjoy editing my posts way too much.

Oh, boy! This again!

As stated previously many a time, bronies are fans of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. That's all. They're normal people. They like a tv show.

I like video games and anime.

I'm Jeremiah Christian. I have an ironic name, because I am an atheist. I'm twenty four, and I've been through Hell and back with my life. I've been poor all my life. I've got a father who is a redneck and hates everything I stand for, he used to beat the hell out of me when I was a teenager. My mother is insane, as she thinks that god speaks to her. She used to sit for hours on end and have conversations with herself/god. I don't care if you believe or not, there's something odd about a woman who will seemingly talk to herself for two hours. I've battled drug addiction and came out on top. I have a pretty cool wife and an amazing two-year-old son. He likes to watch the ponies with me. I work in tech support for Frontier, and things are finally starting to look up.

My wisest advice? Keep your chin up, things get better. Stay off drugs.

That's almost the same as me, except that in the past year I've made many more friends (but that's just because I go to a big catholic high school so I was bound to meet people with common interests [including bronies]). My name is Dylan McMullen, but a lot of the guys at my school (I go to an all guys school) call me McMuffin, McNugget, and Mexican, but it's all in good fun
