Anybody here know anything about Cowon Players? I'm looking for an alternative to Apple products and all because of Linux and the bad iPod compatability, and Cowon appears to be a good brand. Looking into the Z2, I'm thinking that this has many great features (FLAC, HDMI Output...) that you wouldn't get from an iPod.

So again, Cowon, anybody?

I own a Cowon. A D2 to be precise. I've had it for about 4 years and its been the best media player I've had thus far. The sound it outputs is excellent and definitely warrants FLAC files. The battery life is still great and it drives 64 ohm headphones with relative ease. If you don't have good headphones, I'd strongly recommend getting some as the stock earbuds are rubbish as to be expected and there really isn't a point in buying a Cowon if you don't want to spend money on a good pair of cans. I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

I heard about them after looking up Media Players better for Linux, because, as many people should know, Apple doesn't go well with Open Source stuff such as a Linux based OS :/

No no I'm not from South Korea!! I just said the company was South Korean :D I'm from Singapore :P

Well, Apple generally doesn't work well with anything other than their proprietary software, which can be quite a bitch some times.
