DorianTail 4 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 (edited) Well, that's the news. I just convinced my girlfriend to watch an episode of FIM. She has no sympathy for Ponies and tolerates in silence the fact that I like them. Which episode you think appropriate to show? Who's The Choosen One? And just to give sense of this thread: What episode did you choose for your Non-Brony Friend? Jalaton 155 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 I say find an episode that you think she'll like, something that might appeal to her interests. That's what I did for my brother, I got him to watch The Return of Harmony because I figured he'd like Discord. Legless
Flame Blitz 85 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 I think you should show her a funny episode, like Party of One or Lesson Zero. Or even Sonic Rainboom, wich helped me to bronyfy my friend.
TheFabulousPony 102 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 The Return of Harmony would be a good one I would say... or perhaps the one with the Diamond Dogs in it? Dr_Waveband 745 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Some episode with lots of pop-culture references and general sillyness. I recommend MMMystery on th Friendship Express. ELSIE PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD
Lord Pretty Pie 64 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 I always start with the first two when introducing people. I know they aren't the best episodes, but they're how I got started, and they introduce you to the characters, which I think is important. "Hater's hate did create, that which they all feared. It is they we have to thank, for it is us they engineered."~ Me"Eventually!"~ Also Me "Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being 'grown up', to admire the 'grown up' because it is 'grown up', to blush at the suspicion of being childish; These are the marks of childhood and adolescence. When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be 'Very Grown Up'."~ C.S. Lewis

Mh, seems legit, but I don't think there is a lot of similarities between her and the themes of the show. However, it would not hurt to start with a really nice and funny concentrated sarcasm made in DisQord. I think you should show her a funny episode, like Party of One or Lesson Zero. DisQord is just Epic , but we can not deny the fun that could come out of Lesson Zero or perhaps the one with the Diamond Dogs in it? Something awesome haha Uhm, Rarity is a dangerous pony to present to a Non-brony full of prejudices. I think starting with an episode with her as protagonist is risky I recommend MMMystery on th Friendship Express. You Sure like that episode ahahah *Avatar* I always start with the first two when introducing people, they're how I got started, and they introduce you to the characters You have a point. ---- Man...hard to decide xD Edited August 21, 2012 by DorianTail
Lord Pretty Pie 64 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Here's a thought... Instead of picking just one or two, strap Her down and watch them all! Ponies are worth it. Jokuc 8,173 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Easy question easy answer. Lession Zero haha. Seriously it has alot of things she wouldn't expect to be in there. Or if she like cute stuff you could show her Dragonshy or something
Fluttershy's Squid 46 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Any episode with a pony going crazy in it. Not everyone appreciates ponies, but nearly everyone can find some enjoyment in the mental destabilization of one. Fluttershy loves all animals equally, but she loves squids the most equally
Batbrony 16,055 August 22, 2012 Share August 22, 2012 Yeah... if she's leery about watching the show in the first place, I agree that you definitely have to start her off with an episode that won't scare her off. Personally, The Return of Harmony or Lesson Zero come to mind; I just don't see how you could possibly go wrong with either of those two! Hope this helps! "You'll hunt me. XUNUSEDXXX 3,459 August 22, 2012 Share August 22, 2012 Definitely don't show her Lesson Zero. She will think the show is some creepy show. Show her Sonic Rainboom, that's the best one.
DorianTail 4 August 23, 2012 Author Share August 23, 2012 Show her Sonic Rainboom, that's the best one. Nooooope o___o, this episode contains dangerous images I think the episode with disQord is suitable. It contains a bit of everything: fun, sarcasm, references, suspense, summarized the roles of the mane 6 etc.
pinkiefan1287 610 August 25, 2012 Share August 25, 2012 If I were you I would go with the first episode. It's alway good to start with the episode the started it all. If anything go with A friend in Deed. Great Pinkie Pie episode, nice song, and very funny. Or any Pinkie Pie episode. That or May the Best Pet Win, or Luna Eclipsed, or Hearth's Warming Eve. Or all. I would suggest all
Regality 233 August 25, 2012 Share August 25, 2012 (edited) Hmm, normally I'd say Lesson Zero, but that might weird her out. So go with either Sonic Rainboom or the Canterlot Wedding episode, as these are both very strong displays of the show's likability. ~~ Edited August 25, 2012 by VOODOO

silvadel 1,393 September 2, 2012 Share September 2, 2012 Canterlot wedding is a good pair. I mean it gives you 40 minutes instead of 20 in which to convince her and they are a well done 40 minutes. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
