Does anybody here use Colors 3D for the 3DS?

I think I'm going to get the app Colors 3D for the 3DS. I've read reviews that it is a great application on the system to draw highly detailed images of whatever you want. It's also easy to use for novice artists and very useful for skilled painters.

My question is, is it good for drawing ponies? Is there a community using this app that makes ponies? Is the app really that good period? Are there people here at mlpforums that use this and post the images?

Your feedback will help me because I really want to dive into drawing ponies :) Thank you!

what? really?

You can draw in 3D and stuff?

I want a 3DS so badly right now, but I'm still waiting for more interesting games to come to the system, for me 3DS > Vita

eeyup. I read all about the application, It's 7 bucks on the nintendo Eshop but Ive heard that it's worth it. I just wanted to hear it from the horses mouth that it was good for ponies, so to speak (pun intended).

If you get a 3DS you'll be getting better value out of it than you would out of a PSvita. Especially since the 3DS XL came out you should get it!

yeah, I saw the 3DS XL, but it's kind of ugly looking but I don't care because the screens are incredibly huge!!!

They say its 90% bigger (cooler) screens than the original. I'm not going to get it because it's not a major upgrade from the one I have now. When they come out with a duel circle pad built into the system, I'll upgrade.

If I didn't have a 3DS I would buy the XL. It does look a bit ugly, but the screens are why anyone would buy it anyways. It would also be really cool to have for Colors 3D because you have more pixels to work with!

1. They are probably never going to release a revision with a 2nd circle pad. Not enough games will end up utilizing the extention, so it would be pointless to put in a 2nd one when a majority of the game won't be able to even use it.

2. The screen resolution is the exact same; there aren't any more pixels; they're just bigger pixels.

Had to get that off my chest...

1. You may be right... that sucks because I was hoping to play some FPS on a newer type of 3DS... not that there were going to be that many anyways.

2. I was referring to the app Colors 3D, since the screen is bigger you can see the pixels of your image in a broader perspective

I have the app, it's fantastic for drawing pretty much anything once you learn how to use it, and there is a large community of people who draw ponies. If you go to www.colorslive.com and search for thelastcommando, you'll get an idea.

As an example of something done on the app, here's my most recent painting (it's cool if you're familiar with Fallout: New Vegas): 873019-dhM7zy_jy3hHiguO.jpg

The only real negatives are the limited playback file size (therefore limited amount of undos) and a bunch of the community. I won't get into the nitty gritty unless you want me to, but drama abounds. Still, you shouldn't let that stop you from enjoying the app should you choose to buy it.
