Was it a joke? I seriously can't tell if mods are being serious or just bucking with us.

This thread is being locked.  Remember, roleplaying not permitted outside of the roleplay and ask a pony sections.  And while the staff is a bit flexible in Forum Games to allow for some silly discussion, purely spamming threads with roleplays, abusive comments, and complete nonsense posts just isn't okay. -Simon

 

Note how the thread is named "Last Poster Wins". Winning does not require a statement of your Win. Abusive comments aren't allowed, we all know this (Although some people don't exactly follow this rule. *Cough* Pink *Cough*), but the rest of those reasons seem to fit the name of the game. LITERALLY! it's in the dang NAME! How hard is it to figure ot that a thread labeled "Last Poster Wins" would be filled with posters attempting to be the last poster using whatever means of communication (Comment without a topic, Roleplay, or even the occasional video)? if you don't want spam in a thread like this, don't make the thread! Having a LPW Thread is ASKING for spam! There is no single topic that a LPW Thread is actually based upon or revolves around, so either you're saying that everything is spam or nothing is spam. ALL OR NOTHING!

Nonesense posts (Or posts without a topic) are what actually make this thread orderly and somewhat reasonable. Anyone who posts nonsense is just following the single rule of the thread (Minus the abusive posts rule). It is important that readers notice there is a difference between off-topic posts and posts without a topic.

Locking this thread for nonsense posts would be like beating someone senseless for driving past a red light in a world where red means "go" and green means "stop". Not only is the punishment unreasonable, but so is the reason behind it. If you want to go out and fight abusive posts like an external-underwear, tights wearing superhero, go ahead. Be my guest, but don't go blowing up buildings when you fight the real villain (Abusive posts).

Also, roleplay here is basically an extended Nonsense post, and by that I mean completely logical in this crazy chaos-filled thread. Heck, you should be encouraging roleplay here. At least when people roleplay here they're all on the same topic, right?

I am absolutely outraged, not just because rules are being applied to where there should have been an exception, but because the original rule hasn't been broken by THE SAME POSTER IN THE SAME EXACT POST! The fact that this is still within the rules has made me outright furious! In all of my experience with internet culture, there is only one word that can describe this; RDM.

While we're on the subject, I might as well give my opinion.

 

For the record, I support the mod's decision to lock the thread. 

 

However, I am rather surprised to see roleplaying included among the list of offenses. I realize that the global rules frown upon roleplaying outside the specified sections, but I was under the impression that this thread was somewhat of an exception. I only say this because the roleplaying has been going on for well over 1000 pages, and mods have seen us roleplaying and said nothing.

 

Ah well, it's not as if my opinion actually matters in the greater scheme of things.

I support the decision too, but honestly I would like to see mods' input on our reasoning.

 

There's been spam posts in this thread since the very beginning, with roleplay posts only being the most recent incarnation of them.

No no, not like that. Just comments abusing their rights of free speech.

For example, someone who just so happens to be named after a lighter shade of a popular primary color, recently posted an altered version of a quote... mentioning female genitalia... several times throughout the quote... and then proceeded to rofl his ao.

The mod arrived shortly after.

Doing something like that isn't allowed by the global rules. I mean, the occasional swear or curse is okay, but not the way it was used right then.

 

On another note, I've taken quite a liking to this red text. I think that I'll stick to this color.

 

So, is anyone up for a debate, or is that not allowed either? Cuz, you know. There's a section just for that... that i don't have access to because I've spent nearly 22 days of my time on this glorious thread.
