I'm pretty sure by now you're saying "Oh god. Not another one of those signatures threads."

 

This one has a different objective in mind. I created this thread so everyone could give me their criticism and suggestions about my signatures.

I also added a little description to each one so you know my opinions on it, why I scrapped them, or where did I get the inspiration.

 

(I might make requests if you ask nicely but you'll have to PM me)

 

Let the constructive criticism begin!

 

Signature 1 : Feel the Beat

 

 

 

Description : The first signature I made for this forums. I'm quite happy with it.

 

 

 

Signature 2 : Come Fly with Me (Unfinished)

 

 

 

Description : This one was made with an awesome piece of artwork I found on DeviantArt. If you've already seen it, It's not exactly the same. I just took the plane out of the picture and pasted it into a stock sky BG. Then I applied some effects. I lacked the inspiration to finish it.

(I forgot the link to the actual image. I'll post it once I find it.)

 

 

 

Signature 3 : DJ Tron-3 (Unfinished)

 

 

 

Descrption : A Tron themed signature with everyone's favorite DJ. The text is just a placeholder. I couldn't find a suitable background so I discarded it. The Vinyl image came from here

 

 

 

Signature 4 : Hearth of Darkness

 

 

 

Description : A Kingdom Hearts themed signature. I found the inspiration after looking for some Vinyl images and stumbling upon the one in the signature.

 

 

 

Signature 5 : Come visit the Rainbow Factory (Partially Unfinished)

 

 

 

Description : Another scrapped signature. The idea came after listening like 20 times in a row to the "Rainbow Factory" song .This one was supposed to be a GIF starting with a regular "Come visit the Rainbow Factory" ad, then it would flicker and turn into the bloody mess you see above.

 

 

 

Signature 6 : Vice President Scootaloo

 

 

 

Description : After playing some Fallout. I decided to make this one inspired by the famous Fan-Fic. I'm still not happy with it. Maybe it's the background.

I like most of them except for one, the Hearth of Darkness one. It seems a bit mish mashed and too... flashy.

I was messing with the effects in that one. So yeah, I might have overdone the glow just a little bit... (It also explains all the "mish mashing")

I didnt like the last one too much it just seemed so... Cornflakes while some of the others looked more like Trix!

Also the dj-tron3 one for some reason I would have liked it better if you could see her whole head and not have it cut off at the top of the hair.

And the first one I would have liked... If her eyes were red!!!! And if she didnt look so serious I think of her as a funner more part pony like.

I like them all, no, I love them all except the Come Fly With Me. The background is a bit mixed up and the thing on the right looks like it's wielding a battle ax or some other type of weapon.

the 1st one is nice and simple, but the "mist" or whatever you'd call it, behind the letters, makes it a bit painful to read the text, and kinda kills the simple atmosphere the sig otherwise has.

 

the 2nd one honestly feels very messy to look at. there's no letters or definable characters to look at to make it stand out, and the whole slanted perspective feels very unfitting for a signature

 

the 3rd one is a pretty cool concept, although her hair being cut-off kinda kills it. maybe a grid-like background would have worked for the signature?

 

4th one has confusing and hard-to-read typography. it's hard to make out what it's supposed to say on there. VS looks out of place due to clashing "messy" artstyle with the other, relatively clean looking graphics. the glow might have looked better if it was toned down and was shining against a much more clean looking VS?

 

5th one is also a cool concept, if the gif would have been finished. i can't tell why RD has the word "help" on her, though, considering that she was made the head of the fears and horrors that occurred in the rainbow factory.

 

lastly, the 6th one. the background is rather muddy and washed out. i assume it was made so to simulate wooden texture? would have probably been better if the background was more clear to look at.

 

keep at it, i say. they aren't bad signatures, just some are a bit rough around the edges. continue making signatures, though, and you'll eventually be able to detect such roughness and even it out better.

@, Nice criticizing you made there. As for the 6th, The BG is not wood, it's supposed to be paper... Come to think of it, I don't know why I didn't use a proper paper background.

 

@, I can't seem to see any battle-axe in the signature.

Oops, I just realized that it was the sword and I accidentally saw the sky and the black part added to the sword to make it look like a battle ax :/

 

Somehow, that still seems wrong.
