Apple bucking contest: applejack vs big macintosh

In an apple bucking contest, who do you think would win, big Mac or applejack? I think big Mac would win seeing that it's all he does and applejack is the one who is generally selling them.

Applejack looks like she bucks more, though I think you should be more specific; as in, who would buck most in one kick, which would be Big Mac; or who can buck the fastest, which would be AJ.

Well, Big Mac can get a ton of apples in one kick, but he's slow and bulky.

Applejack is fast, and she's the faster bucker alive.

Big Mac is very skilled at the task seeing it's the mane (pun intended) thing he does in Sweet Apple Acres, and looking back to his social skills (Thinking it may need developing) i doubt he sells the product: giving him more time to improve on his bucking skills

On the other hand (paw or hoof) he is also a slow pony, in strength he may be able to win, but he doesn't have the speed and agility to win. (sorry Big Mac )

Just take a look at that one time where Applejack got herself sleep-deprived. She barely managed to harvest half of the farm before she collapsed.

Who the hell harvested that half of the farm on the usual applebuck season? A ghost? Of course the answer is Big freaking Macintosh!

Hard to say. Apple Jack is smaller, but she does has strength and speed on her side. While Big Macintosh has mostly strength on his side. I think Big Mac would win. He would take his time, while Apple Jack would run around wasting energy. I think he could just last longer.

Big Mac is pretty strong, the problem is that his pretty darn slow, AJ bucks apples way more, considering she cleared half of sweet apple acres in 'bout a week, and she's pretty fast on it too, so I say AJ

Well AJ sells and bucks the apples, Big Mac pretty much just seems to do most of the farm work, and occasionally help her clear the trees.

Hmmm *Ponders this thought* Excellent question! I like AppleJack because she is always fast on her feet, BUT Big Mac would win in my opinion because he's very strong, and he could carry so many apples, rather than AppleJack.

It depends a lot on the timeframe. I think Applejack would win on any moderate timeframe and Big Mac would win in a single buck contest or an apples over 3 days as opposed to apples over 12 hours thing.

Exactly where has it been said that big Mac is slow? Just becuse he's big doesn't mean he is slow. We should start a petition to lower the limit.

I don't think Big Mac is slow like people think he is. In the cider episode, you saw him keeping up with RD when it comes to running on that one machine!

As i see it Applejack needs to buck multiple times to get a tree full of apples down and i see Big Mac has more experience and could probably take down a whole tree in one buck so hes more powerful of course

No...have you seen Applejack? In the pilot episode, she took down a tree full of apples. In Applebuck Season, she did that even though she was sleep-deprived, although she had to kick multiple times later on when she got more tired. She always harvested a tree in one buck. Big Mac can do that with one leg, as opposed to AJ's two legs.

Big Mac is a hauler, not a Bucker. He's built to haul heavy loads.

Now you get Applejack all riled up and feisty: she'll be bucking and kicking for a long, long time.

True, AJ is most likely faster, but Big Mac is bigger and older. AJ only managed like half of the apple trees without his help and we all know how exhausted she was. She did last a while, and she's stubborn, so she's got that going for her. But, who ran the farm before AJ was old enough? Applejack wasn't always a grown mare (nor was he, but I guess they're parents took care of it before they presumably died--though I'm not sure if it's really confirmed) so Big Mac must have been completely in charge and maybe with the assistance of other ponies (my assumption is Caramel--I can imagine him being one of Mac's peers).

 

And remember how much he could haul in Hearts and Hooves Day? He's one dang athletic stallion. Yeah, that's a hauling kind of strength (as Silverhoof says), but endurance is something that comes with both his strength and bucking, I believe.

 

But you know, that is a good/tough question. I may be wrong and it's Applejack.
