Cherry Blossom noticed Splinter and just smiled at him for his enthusiasm to help his leader. She turned her attention back to Martin, who was apparently the leader of the Earth ponies. As she flew over to him, she gave him a serious look as to why Earth Ponies haven't been giving their share of the food. "E-Excuse me, but could you please tell me as to why you haven't been giving us the food that we need?" she asked softly.

Martin stood quietly still as Greylight examined him. "If you're trying to strike fear in me you'll have to do better than that" he said. He looked her back in the eye with relaxed eyes "I know when I'm beat. I'll gladly help you in exchange for compensation"

 

Tell me Martin, Why would we give you compensation when you are our prisoner, we could give one simple command and you would fall to your death... I dont think you really see who has the upper hoof.

Also dont bother with the, You kill me You dont get any information, We have other ways we can get information... so you are like a little fly between our hooves. Flame said.

 

"Flame, silence!"

Greylight turned back to Martin.

"Oh, yes. You can be more than just a source. And I intend on you to be more than one. Not everything I plan goes intended, but I have a high success rating..."

She looked at him as she had before; severely. But she added a taste of "Hello, you actually do look quite charming" to it.

"And I would hate to kill a leader of another race. It might spark a war, you know, and I'm not quite sure we have enough resources for a long war. So, please, enlighten me on how we may- er, compensate you..?"

Captain Trench had his full armor on, despite the fact that he was off duty, and had been for the entire day. He sat next to the entrance of the Library that Credo was going to and rested his head against the wall. Looking at the sun, he determined that it was still morning, or at least, very early in the day.

 

Shelby walked into the town hall.

"And how do you expect to get him back when he is high in the sky and we don't have magic or wings?"

She had walked in just in time, and was trying to make a point. She knew she was at least a fairly good-looking mare, and hard-working as well. She just wanted everypony around her to know it.

Martin gave Flame a matter-of-factly look "You really think I care about them over you guys? Call me selfish if you wish but I'm just in this world for myself here; and right now it looks like helping you Pegasi is a good investment."

Cherry Blossom frowned when she was ignored by Martin. Her ears drooped and she let out a sigh as she sat on the floor. "Why should I even bother to ask him? What Earth Pony leader would want to reply to a Pegasus mailmare such as myself." she thought when she frowned at the Earth Pony.

''Okay. I'm just going to walk over to the commander and demand that I can help with whatever she is planning. That won't be so hard. Although I think she hates me for some reason. Maybe it's because of my mane color? Black isn't a bad color!'' Splinter said while hovering to Commander Greylight Hurricane. ''Uh.. Hi!'' Splinter said.

They are hardy and strong willed; they won't simply 'give up'. All you can do is weaken them to where they won't stand a chance" Martin looked back at the crowd of flabbergasted ponies starring at him; awed in the extent of his betrayal "And that's just the tip of the iceberg..." He turned back to Greylight "Now... how about my 'compensation'?"

"Of course, I understand. You need some information now and I can't blame you for that." Martin cleared his throat "Without me, the Earth ponies are probably being led by that idiot Surge. She looked at him with her head cocked a bit. She straightened her head out, and began looking around for her secretary.

"Oh, and then of course, you can be an adviser. Head adviser, did you say? ... Never mind, you'll be that adviser anyway."

Cherry Blossom flew up to Greylight and saluted while she was talking to Martin. "Ma'am, would you like me to go on recon on the Earth Ponies?" she asked as she watched the two leaders talking. She was starting to think about the assignment she was taking, was it for war?

Aelicine pressed a hoof to her forehead, "Snowy Sylinite, please make sure they don't slight our religion. I must go prepare for tonight," she left the assembly and went home, breaking out the silver talismans, chalks, a silver bowl, and a deceptively sharp knife. She head out to the gazebo behind her house.

Snowy Fields nodded his head, "Don't worry I wouldn't let them. I'll see you later." He sighed as he waited for the mare that had been speaking to continue. I wonder what Commander Sapphire thinks about this meeting. Better question is if she will be making a speech or not.

What we need to do is exactly what you were planning: send some scouting parties to observe their activity just in case something 'unexpected' happens. Also, they're probably sending an ambassador over to us right now with an offer to get me back."

"If they do send an ambassador, we may work something out. But right now, you're stuck here. And I don't want my main information colt to get taken back quite yet. I have a feeling there is more info to tell. But for now, you have a choice of whether or not to say more. Where is my secretary?"

She almost bumped into Cherry.

"Ah. You, Cherry. Would you mind being my secretary for a moment? I know you are eager about your assignment, and currently no, it doesn't involve war, so please..."

"Me? S-Secretary?! If it's only for a moment then I'll be your secretary Commander." Cherry Blossom was a little shocked at first, but she nodded in agreement. She was reluctant that her reconassiance assignment wouldn't have to do with warfare. Though Cherry Blossom wasn't enjoying their talk of this 'Surge' pony.

At the Earth Pony town hall Surge, one of the towns most respected leaders learns that one of the other leaders has been taken hostage. As the town gathers they are outraged at what has happened.

 

This is unacceptable! This is an outrage! Those pegasus have gone to far this time! I say its time we take action!

The crowd was getting loud and out of control. Just then Surge stands and speaks to the angry mob.

 

ALL OF YOU QUITE DOWN!! The crowd goes silent. This is very upsetting tome as well. I know with Martin gone some things are not the same but i will do everything in my power to fix this. This is an act of war! The pagasus have done nothing but cause us trouble this past harvest. And they still demand more food for the rain they bring. They should be dealt with! No! The last thing we need is a war on our hooves. I will send some of our ambassadors to deal with this. There is no need for war with the winter freeze coming in. Plus with the unicorns not being as supportive as they should be we are at a disadvantage not having many weapons. I will fix this, and we will get Martin back.

The crowd was content but still a little upset. Surge goes to the town scribe Credo.

Credo i need you to gather the ambassadors and prep them for their assignment. I have to plan things out....just in case they dont go as planed.

 

 

Down in the pagasus prison Windscar was making her rounds and checking on the prisoners. She walks down the hall to a high security cell. This cell was holding one of the Earth Pony leaders, Martin.

Good to see you making yourself at home. I know your little ponies are so lost without you. And without you they will fall before us. Such a weak breed yours is.

She walks off.

 

Trench waited for Surge to cross him in front of the library, then stood and saluted. "I see your ambition has taken you far, sir. You are no doubt a great leader... But how exactly do you intend to free Martin while he is in the clouds? I'm not very good at jumping."

Splinter just stood in front of them while his smile turned into a look of boredom. ''Man. Sometimes I do wonder if I have a blank personality.'' Splinter said while just staring into space. ''This feels like waking up when you are locked in a house and your like, 100 miles from all civilization. And I'm saying this right in front of Commander Hurricane.'' Splinter said.

"Stuck? I don't think of myself as stuck here. In fact I think of this as a grand opportunity. I'm sure life here will be better than anything the Earth kingdom has to offer. And as for telling you more, you're asking me to just 'dump' everything I know about the Earth ponies if just a few moments. There's not much more of value for me to say. What we have to do is wait for the Earth ponies offer and see what your scouts bring up. After that I'll let you know what I believe is the best course of action. In the meantime, I would love to tour your beautiful city or should I say my new home"

Cherry Blossom's attention to Commander Hurricane, now switched to Splinter. "Do you really want to help with something. I mean it seems that we're in a crisis regarding the food supply. I hope nothing bad happens." she got strands of her mane out of her faced and just stared at Splinter with a worried look.

"Ay. Yes, of course. As commander of the pegasi, and you our special guest, I shall lead the tour. Any advisers...? No, forget them for now. A personal tour. I need to know a bit more about you, Martin."

She looked over at Cherry.

"Mark in a piece of paper that Martin here is now my head adviser and put it on my desk. Thank you."

She started to step out of the room.

Cherry Blossom did as she was told and pulled out a notepad and a quil. She wrote down what she was instructed, but she wasn't sure about having an Earth Pony as an advisor. She ripped the paper out of the notepad and started flying towards Commander Hurricane's room so she could place it on her desk.

''I think I'm helping material. Well, I am if you don't bring up the fire incident. I don't even know how I could set things on fire on a cloud!'' Splinter said. ''So.. What are we planning on? Stealing earth pony food or something? Honestly, I just wanna help. This place is getting even more boring by the seconds.'' Splinter said.

Cherry Blossom put the paper on Greylight's desk and returned back to Splinter. "I don't know exactly on what's going to happen, but Commander Hurricane is discussing it with Martin, leader of the Earth Ponies," she said to him. "So what do you think is going to happen?"

''I think this Martin will be kind enough to give us food. And if he is nagging right now, I hope he knows what kind of species he is dealing with. If he doesn't, may his curiosity rain on his parade.'' Splinter said while shaking his head. ''But really, how did we ever get earth ponies to give us food before this?'' Splinter said while cocking an eyebrow.

"Haven't you paid attention in school? We supply them with water so they can grow food. Then they give us our share of the food they made, but they aren't giving us the standard amount this time. Clouds just aren't that simple to make and yet they still feast while we starve." Cherry Blossom let out a sigh before laying her back against a pillar.
