Velnir goes back to look her in the eyes, serious, "In all of my life, I have never met a more perfect pony. I'm scared, for the first time in long time. I'm afraid I'll lose you. And I'm afraid of what that would make me." He finished that line staring at a wall. "I'm such an idiot" he smiles.

 

"But an idiot I love, Verlnir."

She kissed him softly, yet passionately.

 

As Surge and Windscar left back to the Earth Pony Kingdom....Surge do you really think she will keep her word? I mean they know you have the rest of the food. they know you food in the caves. And they know that we still have Fire Blade. So whats to keep them from attacking us? Surge just walked and smiled.WS jumped in front of him and stops him. What are you smiling about? What seems to be so funny? Surge leans down and kisses her deeply. She was stunned and first and then just melted in with it. As Surge broke the kiss she was in full blush and her wings were showing through her coat. W.....W....What was....that for? To calm you down. And because i love your lips so much. And your wings are showing. You might want to put the away. *folds her wings back in.still blushing* But still...What if they dont keep their word? Have a little faith WS. Thats the only thing we can do. And if this A.R.K im trying to build with them sinks then ill be ready to swim and fight for whats mine.

 

Back in his room Fatigue looks into his ax. Looking at the reflection of the monster he saw. Flashing back on the things he had done to Velinr. (blue letters are martin) This Velinr guy is good at this. Yea but still not as good as me. what do you think Surge? Ill say he knows his way around a potion or two. But i dont know if he has the heart for this job. Pony is screaming in pain. Velinr stopped. Please sir......stop this.....please....i have a family.....Is this really what i want to do with my life? Be a bringer of pain? A harbinger of death? Drops his cutting tool on the ground. Velinr what are you doing? Pick up your tool and finish your job. I.....I cant sir.....I just....cant. Surge shook his head. Fatigue looked at the anger on Martin's face. As Martin was about to confront him Fatigue put his arm out. No Sir....Ill handle this one. Martin nods his head as Fatigue walked in. He picked up the tool Velinr was using, pinned him to the wall with the blade to his chest. If you wont finish the job then we'll just have to do so to you. Starts to cut across his chest. So whos side are you on? Ahhhhggg......Fatigue.....why are you....Ahhhhgggg...Doing this..to me? Because you might be a traitor. Thats enough Fatigue. Let him go. Velinr go home and get cleaned up. And be back in the morning with your head in the right place. Limping out the room past Martin. If this is how.....im going to ....treated....i may never come back. Walks out the door. Martin looks to Fatigue and Surge. I want him gone....He knows to much. Fatigue. Surge. Deal with him. Yes sir. Yes sir. A few days later late one night Surge and Fatigue were outside Velinr's house. Fatigue this is going to far. Im not going to do this. Well id rather do this then let Martin get to him. Fatigue....Im not burning his house down. Fine run away. But im going to save his life. As Surge walked off.....This is for your own good Velinr....Stes the house on fire. The next day. So i see Velinrs house somehow "burned" down. Where there any witnesses? No sir. Good. And the body? Burned to crisp sir. There is no way to I.D the body. Good job Fatigue. I ca can see you becoming my second in command one day. Thank you sir. Back at Velinrs house he comes home to a pile of ash. Thank god your ok. I thought you were in there. What the hell happened to my house? It caught fire last night. We thought you were dead. So....this is how it has to be Surge? You had to try and kill me so i wouldent talk? I get the hint....Im gone then. You will never see me again. Im sorry Velinr....Buck off Surge. Walks away. Flash back ends. Sigh......only if you knew the truth Velinr....Only if....I hurt you....in order to save you. Drops ax into the floor.

 

Fire Blade heard what Fatigue had said, and his ears perked up at the sound of the ax on the floor. He lay down, but it was obvious (if one looked at him) that he was listening, his arms resting on his chest, eyes closed, and ears perked up.

"Something is bugging this guy. He walked in, eager to kill, and now the ax hits the floor..."

Velnir was about to talk when a very soft kiss hit his lips. He instantly relaxed, and hugged her closer, kissing her back. When it was over he smiled at her, brushing her mane out of her face. "So, I'm not as tired as I was a minute ago... You must have SOME form of angelic powers."

Sapphire lead the way bringing the food cart with her. They arrived at the unicorn's palace/city/capital/ect, where the two unicorn soldiers left to return to the border. "Where is Vinyl Blade?" Sapphire asked one of the guards.

"She went to see the pegasus leader for negotiations, ma'am." The guard replied, saluting then returning his rounds.

Sapphire walked towards the barracks. She headed Lt Commander Algid's office. "Commander, you are back, what happened?" "The earth ponies, released me, they had a set of conditions to follow, I must head to the pegasus capital at once." "I will arrange an escort at once." Sapphire turned back to the door. "That won't be needed lieutenant, I will go on my own, please notify anypony that asked where I am." She told him as she stepped out of the room. She packed several rations and headed towards the pegasus border.

"Um.. Yes, Commander, right away!"

They led her to a steam room, looking nervously behind them the whole way. They opened the door.

"Vinyl! I demand to know what you are doing! We prepare for battle while you go to a spa with my secretary!"

Velnir relaxed, and seemed to shrink into her hold. Bringing her closer, he brought her in again, kissing her and holding her tightly, as if she would fly away. When they broke, he said, "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. In the history of ever."

"S-S-Secretary?!" Cherry Blossom fell off the wooden bench when Greylight had yelled at Vinyl Blade. "C-Commander Hurricane? Excuse me your highness, but why are you here at the spa then? Don't you think it is going a-against what you're implying?" she asked as she got back up.

"S-S-Secretary?!" Cherry Blossom fell off the wooden bench when Greylight had yelled at Vinyl Blade. "C-Commander Hurricane? Excuse me your highness, but why are you here at the spa then? Don't you think it is going a-against what you're implying?" she asked as she got back up.

 

"Yes, secretary. And no, I'm here to ask what Vinyl is doing while I have my troops ready for battle. I came to ask why she seems to be taking a holiday with you."

He pulled her in closer, kissing her passionately as the screen fades to black. The next morning, he wakes up with a bit of a start, and realizes Shelby is in his arms. He smiles and hugs her, kissing her forehead and brushing her mane with his hoof. He felt amazing.

She moved a bit, trying to get comfortable. But she wasn't awake; she was mostly in her subconscious REM dream state. She dreamt of Velnir, and how happy he was. But the dream turned for the worst when it went back to his past and how this belief the influential Earth Ponies had could wreck havoc during the war. She dreamt Velnir was taken as a prisoner and the other races did to him what he did to his prisoners. She awoke, shaking, and screamed for a moment. She realized Velnir was still ok and right beside him, so she hugged him tightly, sobbing into his shoulder.

"I thought I was simply here to form the alliance. I didn't know I would have to stand around all day. Plus, I was gaining some respect for your kingdom. Anyway, I informed my empire to send over a large portion of our troops earlier. They should be here..." The ground started to shake as the hooves of roughly 5,000 unicorns marched toward the city. "... Right about now."

"I thought I was simply here to form the alliance. I didn't know I would have to stand around all day. Plus, I was gaining some respect for your kingdom. Anyway, I informed my empire to send over a large portion of our troops earlier. They should be here..." The ground started to shake as the hooves of roughly 5,000 unicorns marched toward the city. "... Right about now."

 

"Finally. We depart in thirty minutes. Now prepare, or be left. I will not wait for your 'spa day' to be officially over."

She almost walked off, but turned around.

"And what do you mean, gaining respect for my kingdom? Why on earth would you need Cherry Blossom for such a thing?"

"She was showing me around," she said flatly. Vinyl got up and wrapped the towel around her head. She, Cherry Blossom, and the commander walked out of the steam room. Vinyl dried her mane, took off the towel and robe, and put them on the counter. She turned to the commander and said, "Now where could we possibly be going?"

Velnir jumped when she woke up screaming. He hugged her tightly until she stopped, then looked her in the eyes, "What was it about? The nightmare?" All thoughts of last night fled his mind as he tried to figure out just what had happened to make his marefriend cry out.

"You... The war... And- and your past... They were doing things..."

She sobbed. She didn't stop shaking, and every time she thought of it, the sobbing returned.

 

"She was showing me around," she said flatly. Vinyl got up and wrapped the towel around her head. She, Cherry Blossom, and the commander walked out of the steam room. Vinyl dried her mane, took off the towel and robe, and put them on the counter. She turned to the commander and said, "Now where could we possibly be going?"

 

"We are meeting in front of the Congressional Hall. There, my advisor (she almost said Martin, but caught herself) will reveal to you his plan about how we will invade the Earth Pony Kingdom."

She marched off towards the Congressional Hall.

Velnir hugged her tightly, feeling her racking sobs. He did it she wouldn't feel his tears. He felt as if he were causing her pain, but his voice was calm and steady, "Shelby, the thing about being tortured is that, while your being tortured, you become to important to kill. It gives your side time to rescue you."

As Surge and Windscar made it back they went to town hall. Windscar......*yawn* Im going to bed Surge. Its cool if i sleep with you again.*she winks at him* I dont mind. Your always welcome in my room. You go on, ill meet you in there. She walks in his room and shuts the door. With that she takes her coat off and stretches her wings. Ahhhhhhh.....Feels good to be home. Surge looked in the cell at Fire Blade. He seemed to be sleep or just very chill. I guess i could feed him. Walks to the back and fixes him a plate of food. he slides it in the cell and then goes to Martin's room. Wow....This is a nice room. Papers were all on the wall and his desk. Everything from battle plans to, ways to fight the other breeds, to technology they did not have the tools for yet. Martin what the hell have you been doing in here? Wait....whats this? Cloud walkers? *shuffling papers* Magic rods? Martin what the hell is all this? Surge....what are you doing? Nothing....Im coming. Ill look at these later. Putting the papers back and goes back to his room. Waiting for me my sweet? Hugs and holds him close. You know how much i hate waiting.

 

Fatigue left a few hours ago through the back door. He was out in the woods. He came across the remains of an old burned down house. It had two makeshift tombstones by it. You made me what i am.....This is all your fault.....i cant feel anything because of you. All i know is pain....And then you....you tried so hard....i can still feel you now....and i think i might have found someone. Pulls out a rock that was not like the other ones. This one had a magic aura about it. Only a unicorn could do this. And i think i know who did it. My little book toter. I will find you. And you will be mine. You slipped out of my hooves at the UPK. But this time.....i will get you. Starts to walk back to the village.

He got up lazily and walked over, picking the tray up carefully with one hoof. He began eating after he had gotten back to his bed and sat down.

She rested her head against his chest, the sobs slowly subsiding. She was still distraught.

 

"All right, Pegasi! We here will join forces with the Unicorns to over-throw the Earth Pony Kingdom! I will accept no excuses for deserting; you will be punished for leaving from now until we complete our mission! You have thirty minutes until we depart! Prepare now! Dismissed!"

She turned to Vinyl.

"Your turn."

Velir smiled, and kissed her passionately, and moved her hoof over his heart, so she could feel it beat. After a good chunk of time, he broke the kiss, saying, "Haven't your ever heard of Maiden's protection?" He grinned.

 

Stormcloud did the stomp-salute, with the customary honoring of Commander Greylight.

I mean I-I feel a lot of innocents will die if we go w-with this war," she said to Greylight as she walked right next to Vinyl Blade. Should I just say something opposed to it? Cherry Blossom thought.

Vinyl turned to Cherry. "They have been denying us our rations for too long. We are obliged to go to war for them." She turned back to her troops. "As you know, we are allying ourselves with the pegasi in order to defeat the earth ponies and get our food that we have been denied for too long. If you desert, you will be killed. It is better to die an honorable death than to be captured. Good luck. May the empire smile upon you." She walked over to the Pegasus commander. "My army is ready."

She turned to Vinyl.

"Finally. Did you really need to go to that spa?"

She turned to her troops, who were already ready and standing in a formation.

"Now. Martin, explain your plan to them."

"D-D-Die?! B-But I'm no soldier!" she replied, her voice now trembling. Cherry Blossom found this to be very troublesome and knew her leaders would now just kill before they talk. She stared at the two ponies, now all she did was salute them. "A battlefield is no place for anypony." she said firmly.

"Wait a minute... Martin? As in the leader of the earth ponies?" She walked over to him and tore off the robe, revealing, the one and only, king of the earth ponies. She looked at Greylight with disgust. "And he was sleeping with you last night? Are you fraternizing with the enemy?"
