End of the World

Hasbro is (I think) going to be smarter than the past few TV Show hits.

I'm with the others, it's definitely going to end, but with a blast. 'Know what I mean? And once a brony, is always a brony. It's not like any of us came this far to say "The show is terrible" when it does.

I hope you're right about Hasbro. They won't screw things up if they know what's good for them.

All works of Lauren Faust lasted 4-5 years. The two of the most popular works: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Powerpuff Girls all lasted approximately 4-5 years with a few in-betweens and holiday episodes...with of course...A MOVIE!!!

The Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends movies: The very first one and Destination Imagination were big successes. Considering Destination Imagination came out approximately 3/4 of the way through the series, at least as far as I'm aware of, My Little Pony may follow the same trend. Powerpuff Girls also followed a similar trend where the movies marked the last two or so seasons of the episode.

Of course just because the show ends doesn't mean the spin-offs won't. Ed Edd n' Eddy got a feature length movie long after the show was finished. They still show Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends during the Holidays and I actually watched the Destination Imagination movie a few months ago.

Oh and of course, mandatory fan content. Hunger Games for example, ended for good. Fan content is still circulating around. MLP won't die for another ten-twenty years. It will basically become one of the staple shows of the 2010 decade.

So don't worry about the brony community dying out. It will die when we let it die so don't let it die!

The show may die, but we'll all live on with love&tolerance in our hearts.

Personally, I think it'll end before it starts sucking. I don't think the show will run that long. It isn't exactly as popular in mainstream as things like Spongebob or The Simpsons. (On the internet, yes, very popular. But I'm talking about in real life. It's kind of hard to find real life bronies. That's just my experience though.) I give it three or four seasons. I think that is enough, to be honest.

Exactly this.

However, if it does continue until it sucks, I imagine that the newer seasons will be treated like the Star Wars prequels are now, as in it'll be quite common to say:

"I like MLP:FiM, but I would have rather it ended at season 4."

"True that, brony."

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

Wonka, you're probably thinking of either Dragonball or Digimon.

Anyways, 65 is the minimum episodes needed for syndication. And McFadden wanted to end PPG after 3 seasons, but Cartoon Network stepped in, thinking that kids don't want reruns.

Honestly I don't think the show will last as long as the Simpsons with all respect, I think it may last about 5-6 seasons and that's if the 5th and 6th season are as good as what we have now.

BUT, that does not mean MLP in general will end, first of all if the community continues to rise like it is now then I bet this will never be forgotten, we still have the groups and whilst the show ill not have new episodes we can still be creative, MLP has become legendary, and it will never be forgotten.

Also Hasbro will still be around, I mean who knows what they will do for G5. While hopes may not be high, if Hasbro has any sort of logic then they will not only reproduce what they did with G4 but make it better, I think this is only the beginning mates, I think we will have a long, long time before this fandom dies out.

I said that it was Japanese with no newer remakes. DB had a series around 2003, and a revised edition currently running. Digimon wasn't around in the 90's, or at least I don't think so.

Intelligence is both knowladge and logic. If you don't have either knowladge or logic, you don't have intelligence.

Digimon was around in the 90's, though I'll admit it wasn't an anime. It was actually made by the people who made Tamagatchi (Hear that, pokemon fans? Digimon came first), and was aimed primarily at guys.

It's true that the show must end, but with how popular it's gotten in a little over a year (correct me if I'm wrong on the time) I don't think it's going to end for quite some time. Personally, I'd like to see at least five seasons, and hopefully a movie. At that point, the show could end and I wouldn't complain (considering the movie has the same quality it has in the episodes). But like many have said before me, the show may end, but the bronies will keep coming. There's no doubt about that.

All things do come to an end eventually sadly, although I do agree with a lot of you guys on the fact that the shows rising popularity and growing fanbase will have a bigger impact on future seasons. I wouldn't doubt if MLP’s the most watched show on the Hub as it is. I'm sure if it grows to be an even bigger phenomena, publicity will get involved again and this time in a positive way hopefully.

Awesomeness = at least 20% Cooler.

I think FiM will last a lot longer than 65 episodes. Hopefully Hasbro sees it the same way CN did with PPG.

YES! Thank you! I hate when people call Digimon a ripoff!

  • 2 weeks later...

Please read, as the title has nothing to do with 12/21/2012.

Right now, MLP is getting more and more popular, and people are constantly being converted into bronies. What if MLP won't last, as in loose its popularity or fun. For instance sometime in the future (lets say like 20 years) two people sees MLP, and one of the persons say: "*sigh* Do you remember back in 2012, where MLP was still so new and exciting?"

What I mean is that it is possible that in the future the quality of the MLP show begins to drop, or maybe some kind of mishap on one of the character voice actors. Think about it, imagine Fluttershy/Pinkie's voices were replaced by another persons voice? To some it may not matter much, but to others this could drastically change their opinion of the show. There are many factors which could easily make a show loose fans.

What if one day, the world of bronies came to a halt? And what shall we do? Because this would be THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!!! :D

Lets hope that MLP last as long as the Simpsons ;)

the simpsons were verry populair for a verry long time and excuse me if im wrong but dont they still make new episodes? there still aired on television some times...

but mlp must last
