I suppose I should give this topic a little bit of a bump. We really need a more proactive TF2 wing of this community!

Despite having played Medic so frequently (600+ hours since 2008), I have yet to get a strange Kritzkrieg. It's one of the best Mediguns to use on Dustbowl and other maps with a defined defense; and while I enjoy using Princess Cadance's Love Gun (my standard Strange Medigun), I'd like incentive for more variety.

One thing I would like for them to change is the fact the Strange Medigun changes rank based on Ubers rather than assists. Unless you play Medic every single minute and are lucky enough to have a competent team each time out, it's difficult to level up. Oh well... the price of aesthetic convenience.

And son of a (scatter)gun -- I have way too many damn crates that I will never open!

I actually just had a scrim with my 4v4 team. I play pyro for it and it's a blast. Especially considering the standard format is medic, pyro, soldier, demo.

I've now been to two servers in the past month that have banned the Gunslinger. As someone who is glad to turn the most turtling, overplayed class in the game into an offensive speed-player, I find this frustrating. I mean heck, I don't like plenty of weapons in the game - but mainly because their players aren't helping their team (ie, DemoKnight, Battle Medic)

Has anyone else run into servers like this as well?

It's because scouts and pyros get butthurt that they get denied an area by a class that's supposed to deny area. The gunslinger just gives the engi an easier time at denying area, while still keeping the pace of the game up. If a mini sentry is blocking off an area for a pyro or scout, good, it's doing it's job.

Can't say I have -- and I would leave such a server in a heartbeat. Denying the Engineer a legitimate offensive loadout sounds bunk to me. The Mini-Sentry can readily be defeated by a team that is aware of its surroundings, so banning it is mostly a failure of imagination, intuition, and awareness. They might as well ban Snipers because most other classes can't reach them.

...What?

Can't Scouts and Pyros easily get past mini-sentries? They're easy to destroy or get past; a few shots with any primary for both the Scout and Pyro, all pistols and shotguns, or a Bonk can make a Scout or Pyro easily defeat the mini-Sentry. Even so, it doesn't do that much knockback or damage compared to the normal Sentry Gun.

The only time it is causing a problem is when it's hidden or the Engie is near it.

Also, I've made a good study of the TF2 economy (though to be honest, I'm F2P, so I can't trade). I noticed significant inflation on keys.

And I noticed my hat is only worth 1.6 refined. Crap.

We really need a more proactive TF2 wing of this community!

Marcato set up a 6s team recently. I'm a member of it. So there's that.

Not sure what classes we need, but we have three Soldiers (two roaming, me and a relief Soldier in case my tendinitis acts up, and a pocket), a Demo, a Medic, Engineer/Scout and are currently looking for another Scout. If anyone's interested, please contact me, then I'll pass your application to Marcato and he'll take care of things from there.

Right, @Marcato?

I main Scout, and aside from my low FPS am pretty darned good at the class. My favourite unlock has got to be the Force-A-Nature, so much crowd control with that thing. That's why mine is strange, with airborne enemies killed and a professional killstreak kit applied.

I am pretty much addicted to the Two Cities tour in MvM, and already did 7 tours.

In a little over a year, I got 1400 hours of playtime on TF2. Addicted I tell you.

Can't say I'm a terribly skilled Scout (Medic is probably my best class), but I recently finished a run on Granary serving as a pocket Quick-Fix Medic for an absolutely filthy Scout. Neither of us were using mics; yet we were in somehow in perfect sync. Truly a fun experience.

Took me a while to figure out you were my old friend "Allah Gold", spoonie.

So you've become an admin? Spiffy.

I have to say I used to follow this thread a bunch when I felt more participating in what was being discussed, but the more I look, the more it's the same thing.

Oh well, might change. Y'never know!

Most of my days in TF2 is either me just playing bunch of MvM or watching over a trade server I'm an admin for.

(I make my job of course more fun than what it might suggest, lol.)

I can play Scout, but I only have around forty or so playtime hours for him...my Medic has around sixty.

Shortstop (the firing rate and damage is actually pretty good, albeit the latter being slightly lower than the regular Scattergun)/ Bonk / Sandman

Or Force-a-Nature / Flying Guillotine / Sandman.

I enjoy the "lighter" classes such as Scout, Medic, Sniper, and Spy. Here are my loadouts so far:

Scout: Scattergun/Shortstop, Flying Guillotine/Mad Milk, Atomizer

Medic: Crusaders Crossbow/Blutsauger, Medi Gun/Vaccinator, Ubersaw

Sniper: Sniper Rifle, SMG, Kukuri (I used to have Jarate and Bushwaka)

Spy: Enforcer, Cloak and Dagger/Dead Ringer, Spy Cicle/Eternal Reward

Soldier: Black Box, Gunboats, Shovel (Hoping to get Market Gardener)

Demoman: Loch n Load, Stickybomb Launcher/Targe, Half Zaotichi (Love the crit rate on this thing)

Engineer: Shotgun/Pomson, Short Circut, Southern Hospitality/Gunslinger (prefer Gunslinger for mini sentries)

Pyro: Flamethrower, Scorch Shot, Axe (hoping to get Antixtinguisher or Homewrecker)

Heavy: Minigun, Sandvich, Fists (want to get Gloves of Running Urgently)

These may change in the future.

I tend to switch names on Steam nowadays. It's mostly done for laughs.

I should play more MvM, I haven't tried it out for months.

Actually, for the Pyro, if you want to go with the Axtinguisher, the Detonator/Scorch Shot and the Degreaser are good picks. That faster draw rate can actually save your life. Personally, I use the Reserve Shooter for when the Axtinguisher can't be used.

For the Engineer, I just use the Frontier Justice and Gunslinger and go total combat Engie.

For the Demoman I use the Splendid Screen and Persian Persuader, along with the stock Grenade Launcher; the Charge meter goes relatively quick with this setup (the only downside being that there's almost no way, except the resupply base, to refill your ammo).

For Scout, the setup I use the most is Shortstop, Bonk, and Holy Mackerel, though my other setup is the Force-a-Nature, Guillotine, and Sandman. (A good setup if you're a skilled Guillotine user.)

For the (combat) Medic, I use Blutsauger, Vaccinator/Quickfix, and Amputator.

For the Spy, it's the Cloak and Dagger, Diamondback, and stock knife.

For the Sniper, it's Heatmaker, Cleaner's, and stock kukri.

And let's face it, I never use Heavy or Soldier. Most of my items were turned into scrap so I could craft my hat.

Liberty Launcher, Battalion's Backup (Hoping for Gunboats), Conscientious Objector

As a Pyro, Two loadouts.

I never really use Heavy.

I never really use Engineer.

I notice an alarming lack of flare gun there. It's usually my weapon of choice unless I need the Detonator to boost my jumps or there's enemy pyros giving me trouble or if it's too difficult to aim for direct hits.

By the way, I noticed rocket jumping with the Pyro brings him to extravagantly big heights, presumably twice as high as a Soldier rocket jumps, provided Pyro successfully deflects the rocket.
