I also have the lauch the DS and let me tell you, this guy is a warrior, it fell countless of times, it has scratches everywhere, both screens are diying, they both have dead pixels everywhere, but my little guy refuses to die, sadly I don't play with it anymore because my router is not compatible with my DS.

I should get to play with my DS again before I get a 3DS

Mine is still in pretty good condition; it was my gameboy color that I dropped all the time (at least once a day I'm sure), but I don't think it ever cracked, only some rough plastic on the edges. I know how you feel about it not working with your router, since it kept me and my bro (who's on the east coast) from playing mario kart and pokemon, which would've been so much fun.

 

You should play your DS before you get a 3DS. Sure, the xl's screens loog gorgeous with 3DS games, but it stretches the DS games to fit. They don't look bad, it just feels "different" playing those games on it.

You mean an original DS? Those things really are very durable, had one for 7 years and it's in way better condition than my DS Lite that I've had for about 2 years. It remains to be seen how my 3DS will hold up though.

I've been wanting one for a while. It has really picked up on quality titles and playing my friend's 3DS i have killed his battery on multiple occasions. I;m likely to buy mine once Luigis Mansion is out, now that is the game I REALLLY want

Awesome, I've got the red one. I like the Lite but it's just so very flimsy and delicate, but I tend to play my DS games on there since they look better.

So far my 3DS is way better than both though imo.

I still have my Aqua Blue 3DS. The only thing that's really pushing me to buy the 3DS XL is the larger battery life but that's basically it. I don't think it's worth shelling out more money and as long as I have my charger on me, there's really nothing holding me back from enjoying my "baby blue".

 

My favorite game so far is Kingdom Hearts 3D. I'm currently on Riku's second mission in The Grid.

ehh i never really cared much for the xl, getting a 3ds would be nice even though i don't really crave for one either, and besides in 3d mode it gives me headaches

don't let this thread die alone. I finally got my 3DS, I'm quite happy with it but there are some things that I don't understand.

 

Recently, I've been taking my 3DS everywhere I go to make the streetpass function worthwhile, and I've been quite successful, everytime I found at least 1 new mii

 

The problem is that I can't add these mii's as friends, I have no way to contact their owners. Also, I have more than 1000 mii guests because of mario kart 7 and it's tiring if I want to look just for my streetpass' mii's only, is there a way to sort the mii's somehow?

Did anyone here get Fire Emblem: Awakening and played previous Fire Emblem titles? Because, I plan to get it and I'm not sure what is new about the game from previous titles. (It probably is a "you should get it" for me because I am a real Fire Emblem fan but still...)

I have a 3DS, and got one back in May the year it was released (2011). I have enjoyed the vast majority of the games I have gotten for it, although half of them have been DS games (Pokemon games lol). However, the excessive wait for Animal Crossing New Leaf has kind of distorted things, and has made me just feel frustrated with the console all along.

I got FE Awakening. There's a hell of a lot new about it- the story(duh), art style(different, but it still looks great), marriage system, Casual Mode(no permadeath, for pansies who don't want it ) and a custom character to name a few. It's an awesome game so far, I recommend it to everyone here. Don't know if it'll surpass Radiant Dawn for me in maps and story so far, but it's getting there.

In the past I've beaten myself up a bit (figuratively, of course) for buying the 3DS for $250 at a midnight release, but seeing as I'm still playing it to this day I think it was a good investment.

 

Kid Icarus: Uprising is definitely my favorite 3DS game so far (though Paper Mario comes close) and I'm planning on buying Fire Emblem as soon as I have a good enough financial cushion to spend $40 on one thing.  Besides, there's still a few games I haven't finished yet.

I have 11 so far, one person about 7 times(I pass by their house a lot, I think) and another 4 times(the one at my local Gamestop, lol), and the rest just once. I also tend to take mine just about anywhere, usually.

I don't think I would have the chance to pass again with the people that I have lol, I have found them mostly around malls, I've visited 3 different malls I believe, I think I got 2 from around I live.

 

I just wish I could have more access to personal info of the Mii's I found via streetpass, so I can have a way to contact their owners and be friends.

I'm just waiting for Animal Crossing to come out already. I have been waiting for that game to come for almost two years now.

 

Anyways, I'm a huge Nintendo fan and love the 3DS XL. To me, it's way better than the PS Vita, bit that's just my opinion. But I do love Nintendo and all their games and consoles that come out. Especially 3DS games.

you can get friends via internet or adding them if they are near you, but the 3DS has a functionability called streetpass the allows you to exchange information with other 3DS users if you pass near them with your 3DS in low battery consume mode, you don't even have to meet them to be able to do this.

I've got Kid Icarus if you guys wanna play or Mario Kart. Both games I strongly recommend. I had lots of fun with both games.

DLC? How does that work out on the 3DS? I wouldn't know because I kinda missed my chance of getting NSMB 2 on my 3DS. 

And are there characters like Marth, Ike, Eirkia, Ephraim (Spelling?), and some other dudes I kinda forgot in past FE games I played? Are the DLC characters out yet? I'm planning to get it later today. I think it's a definite gogogogo for me. :3 I WILL NEVER TURN OFF PERMADEATH!
