These are my two favourite theme tunes to games, Excluding Halo 2.

 

You probably know what Final Fantasy is, But Ico was an old Play Station 2 game. A little bit like portal in terms of game play, It was a puzzle game. Very old and very unknown, but still amazing.

 

So, Listen to them a little, You don't need to listen to them all, take your pick. I can't decide!

I'm gonna say Ico, because, as much as I love FF themes, that one wasn't as good as some of the others. Normally, what you would want(and Ico did this perfectly) is to start relatively soft, build up to a climax, and then drop off again. With FF, it seemed a bit 'flat' to me...

I'd have to go with Zanarkand, though i feel biased about it. Zanarkand only had a piano (probably the reason for its "lack of buildup", as stated above) to it, so it gave me the feeling of lonliness, iunno. I loved the tune, finely composed in terms of emotion (uematsu is amazing), i even learned it on classical guitar

I liked the Ico theme too though^^ sounds like a good game, will give a try soon.

Final Fantasy X's theme wasn't bad, but it doesn't evoke the feelings in me that I think it's trying to get. The game itself isn't one of my favorites in the series, not even close, and since the story failed to captivate me that could be a big factor as to why the theme isn't so stirring.

 

tl;dr I prefer Ico.

I feel Ico's theme is lacking in emotion and instead is just using psychological elements like sound effect and dialect to prove a point. It makes it feel disorganized and hard to listen to.

 

At least To Zanarkand has a stable piano melody and doesn't stray too far from it's flee-flowing composition. That gets my vote.

I'm gonna be biased here and say, I preffer the Final Fantasy one. Personally, I never acquired a liking for the entire FFX soundtrack but you learn to love some of those tracks regardless.
