Haha I doubt he will, Lasguns are barely worth being in the game as they are now, they're not going to make them any worse than they are.

 

but at least i can field about 10 guardsmen to 2-3 space marines, and in a group lasguns can actually do ALOT of damage, and besides, i love my guardsmen x3

I take the 2 mandatory troops along with a Lord Commissar choices then just field tanks in all my other slots. Hopefully I'll still be able to do that in the new edition (as I haven't read it yet). I loved fielding bane wolves!

This is very true. Imperial Guard have always been about quantity over quality. I hope to see how my termies fare against such hordes of angry flashlights...

i has auto cannons x3 termies dont fare well against them, but theres also the leamun russ trollface (the one with the plasma cannon) that can fuck them up easilly XD

Fair enough. I still wonder if my deep strike will play a factor in deciding that or not. Also looking at Drop podding in Dreadnoughts as my elite choice.

Yes, drop podding Dreadnoughts is so much fun, back when I played Space Marines I had a dedicated elite drop force of 3 Dreadnoughts, 2 standard (one had lascannons and the other assault cannons) and an Ironclad. Super Effective.

Honestly, I'm just excited to see if they fix Dark Angels with the new Codex or make them worse.

I was debating doing something like that for Chaos with Nightmare Moon as a compliment to the Dark Angels Standard. I have the Chaos half of the Dark Vengeance starter just sitting around and I'm not sure I wanna trade it... Ponifying some Chaos might be a good use of them...

Might not be a bad idea, although maybe changelings might be more suited to Chaos. Or you could use the discoloured Mane 6 and have Discord as a Chaos Daemon Prince?

That's kinda what I was thinking. I only wanted Nightmare moon because Celestia is on my opposing force. I always like to think of the fall of Princess Luna as something akin to the Horus Heresy, and part of my desperately wants to flesh that out.

You're right they're conflicting concepts but this threads just a bit of light-hearted discussion about 40k and MLP, it's nothing serious.

To be fair, Equestria was a turbulent place 1000 years ago. I would say that me thinking that they go together isn't out of line at all. Think about it, if there wasn't the fear of violence and death, then why is there a royal guard, or any semblance of military? Now consider that Luna had her own followers that wouldn't take kindly to those opposing the will of their Empress, and that as her guard and servants, they were as much creatures of the night as she. Unless Celestia acted fast (not something she's known for both then and now) there would be a schism, and probably a war. There were dark times in the past, and while many try not to remember them, there's an interesting story to tell here...

Definitely Celestia, and yes, those are the armors worn by the Emperor and Horus during the Horus Heresy. VERY Relevant and VERY Awesome!

Not during the Heresy, That was a lot of Space Marines. Of course that was also the last time the Emperor was anywhere but his throne, as well...

Oh how times have changed... I kinda wish GW would release a Golden Throne model just so I could have a go at painting it. I could probably make one myself but there's very few references to the design and size of the throne itself.

i believe the emperor is 6-7 feet tall, not totally sure, but i imagine him as such since spehs marines are based off of his DNA and they stand about 7-8 feet tall

 

also, DRIVE ME CLOSER, i want to hit them with my sword
