USA Today Pony article

I'm glad they said positive things about it and stayed away from stuff like "Bronies are homosexuals" which is what I honestly kind of expected to see.

Notice how they mentioned twilight, fluttershy, pinkie pie, and rainbow dash, in the beginning, but not rarity or apple jack?

Not the point of the article. Plus, they do mention AJ later in the article so that should be good enough.

I think it's great that major news outlets are taking this sort of social barrier breaking in stride instead of doing it TMZ-style and just ripping it to shreds. Adding the US military into the mix might generate positive reception towards the show too (or wackjob haters, but a guy can hope) and break any sort of doubt for the show just because of the huge male fanbase.

However, that one commentator compared FiM to the 1960's Batman show......not sure how Batman compares with FiM at all......but hey! Remember kids! Batman apparently has something in common with ponies!

Really sweet. It's really nice that people can find the amazing morals and themes in a simple show. There are surprisingly a lot of motifs and themes to promote a good well-being and outlook. My hat off to those soldiers who see that too.

Awesome article, great new clip there too. The news just keeps getting more and more positive throughout the months about us, and while it's not entirely neccesary, bronies being viewed in a positive light is a very good thing. :)

Not gonna lie, that was one of the best articles reviewing the show and the fandom that I've ever read! Really nice to see such a large and mainstream newspaper as USA Today running such a well-written review of bronydom. Thanks for posting this PonyHag1, much appreciated!!! :D

Inb4 Clarity whining.

But yeah, this is a really nice article :3 Always good to see media mediums giving off things like this to counteract the idea that they're all morons like Fox who don't bother actually looking into things.

I read this article, and loved it! I have been looking for a positive article about bronies ever sense I watched the FOX news broadcast .

I liked that they actually looked into things before making the article. It warms me up to hear good things being said about bronies! <3

Well between this article and the one the Guardian wrote we're getting some good press. Its just a shame that the Guardian used an older gen pony (G2 I think) to display it. It kind of diluted the message a little

Sadly I just read a few of the comments under the article. Seems like a few people just saw the word Pony and Brony and went on a hate spree... so sad really.

Ahh this was so refreshing to read, finally some positive publicity that focuses on some of the better aspects of the fandom, and even mentioning soldiers which is really cool. Good for you USA Today :) . Imagine that? We are a bunch of nice dudes who happen to enjoy a great TV show. Not freaks like other media outlets would like to make us out to be.

This is an extremely well-done article from a well-known newspaper company. The bronies have been seeing a lot of some magnificent publicity, but even when they do, the BS articles or "interviews" still clouds the fandom (*cough*Faux News, Howard Stern*cough*). Pro-brony editorials from reputable places like USA Today (and well-done ones, I add) shines the positive light that this crazy fandom needs. What makes it even better is that it mentions military bronies, who are often overlooked in the public press. (Erin Burnett's segment Outfront mentioned a brony from the Navy attending BronyCon, and it's one of the few times I've heard of military bronies in this outlet.) Kudos to USA Today for mentioning them!

A very well made article. I am glad that even USA Today are putting their attention to the phenomenon that is us. When I first started being a brony until now, I have realized that more and more people are starting to respect our fandom.

I approve of this. For once it's someone not trying to analyze why it's good based on the line of thought "but it's for girls, so why men? Adult men at that!" but rather for what it is: A pop culture sensation more akin to Looney Tunes.

They aren't analyzing it, they are just showing what it is while giving a few insider views on it.

It won't take the world by storm....but MLP took the world by storm.

Gal'darnit, even non-bronies are rejecting poor little Jackie and Rarie :(.

I've heard some good stuff about this article (Although I won't check it out). If I'm correct, this is also where that teaser clip of the new episode came from too :o.

Were Rarity and Applejack even in older seasons? The part where they referenced past ones looked to me like they were speaking of ponies that came from past generations.

They were indeed I believe. Fluttershy was the only main pony to have a 100% original name in FiM, the rest were either reused or retinkered(Twilight Twinkle>Twilight Sparkle).

And wait, it does seem they didn't mention Rarity, what the hay man? :o

I agree i like the art style and the storyline appears to be interesting. I really glad that they mentioned soldiers being brony's as it shows that bronys aren't just some ppl who hide in their rooms with no life.
