Stacy was tired of this. She went to rose and shook her head with teary eyes. "Lets just go he not going to listen." She said hugging rose tightly. "I dont know if i can handle any more of this...i..." She didnt finish as her words broke down into more sobs. All the things happening were tearing her apart, she didnt know how much more she could handle.

Rose hugged Stacy back, the tears finally finding their way out of her ruby eyes. The Star Rose seemed to wilt. She withdrew after several heartfelt seconds, and noticed Stacy avoiding her foreleg. "Oh, no, Stacy... What happened to your leg? On top of everything else..." Now that she looked at her properly, Stacy did look rather roughed up altogether.

"No," Scamps said, still blocking the cliff. "You shouldn't jump, you selfish jerk! You probably have one of the best lives here. You have back legs. You've never been in a coma. Your best friend never left you. You had friends. You didn't see loved ones die before your eyes. You weren't tracked by terrorists. Your parents loved you....they didn't neglect you...." she looked at each pony as she named each problem, and tears filled her eyes as she named the last problem; hers. She remebered as her parents left her out to die.

 

"The point is, we all have problems. But you don't see any of us jumping off of cliffs. You had love from your parents. My parents....they....they would have rather died than raise me. You don't know what that's like....having parents who don't love you." She shook her head as she began to cry.

 

"My point is, Spark. You have an easier life than you think. If you jump, so help me, I will fly down and catch you. I would give anything to have your life, to know that if or when my parents died, they would be smiling down from heaven. I don't have that, but you do. You can walk....YOU HAVE A BETTER LIFE THAN THE MAJORITY OF US! So don't jump and waste your good life!"

 

As Scamps finished, she didn't know how she felt. She had started out angry at him, but now, she felt as if he was like a relative of hers, and she was convincing him not to jump not out of.anger, but out of love. She wondered if Airy had ever wanted to after his accident...but he didn't. So she was determined not to let Spark jump.

Stacy looked up at Rose. "M-my leg?" She looked down at it. "I...i feel down a hill and on my way down it got smashed into a rock. I think its just sprained though." She said looking away from Rose. "But dont worry ill be fine." Her voice sad. Stacy kissed Rose to reasure her that she was fine, even though she really wasnt.

Scamps astared at Spark, he rgaze slightly softening, but not by much. She then watch Stacu kiss Rose. "You!" She said to Stacy. "Yes, you, Stacy. Stop. Stop it right now. Spark is probably wanting to jump right now because you keep rubbing in his face that Rose chose you. What doe sthat say about you, not being humbled by the fact she chose you? You know, Rose could alwzys change her mind...." Scamps said, traiing off.

 

She hated this whole "fighting for Rose thing." Honeslty, if she was Rose, she would reject them all. She was hoping Rose would chose Morningstar, but then he....well, Scamps didn't want to think about that anymore.

 

Scamps' death glare shifted over to Stacy being all lovey-dubey with Rose. "It would be in your best interest to leave, Stacy. You'll only make things worse. In my opinion, this is between Rose and Spark. We wouldn't want any to be of...bias. I'm just here to make sure no pony dies. The real problem here is two heartbroken ponies. Once that is fixed, we can help Spark. Right now, Rose, you and Spark need to talk...alone. As soon as Stacy leaves, I will fly back down."

 

Scamps' gaze flickered between Rose and Spark as she waited for Stacy to leave.

Stacy looked at Scamps as she went off on her. She looked at Rose and held her gaze for a second then got up and started walking away with her ears flat against her head. Scamps was right though, that probably wasnt the best idea at the time. Stacy didnt go far though. She hid behind a tree that was with ear shot so she could listen in, but wondered if it was a good idea.

Scamps flew after Stacy as she left. She saw Stacy duck behind a tree within ear shot.

 

"No," Scamps said. "What part of 'in private' do you not understand?" Scamps picked Stacy up by the scruff and attempted to fly her back down to the springs next to Airy, Star and Somber. She droped Stacy off there and sat down.

Rose smiled, somewhat amused, when she saw Scamps carrying Stacy back down the cliffside. Wiping the tears out of her eyes, she simply walked over to the cliff, where Spark stood looking indecisive, and sat down, hooves dangling over the edge. "Make yourself comfortable, and talk to me," she said, smiling up at him.

As scamps lifted her into the air, Stacy squirmed around. "Hey! Let go of me!" She was then set down at the hot springs. "Scamps what was that for?" She asked in frustration. She didnt even listen for an answer instead she got up and started to pace around. Stacy was nervous about leaving rose up there with spark, especially after him kissing her. Her hoof was still hurting but she ignored it even as it got worse.

"It was so thar Rose could talk with Spark without having anypony overhear her," Scamps replied. "She's probably going to want to talk with Spark alone. As I said, right now, two heartbroken ponies need to talk things over. I think that's what Spark needs fixed....his heart."

Stacy stopped for a second and went up to scapms looking her straight in the eye. "You know what i think?" Stacy began her tone growing in anger. "I think you just dont want me to be with her. You probably think its wrong, dont you?" She let her words sink in a little. "Well you know what? I love her, and i would do anything for her." She said while gritting her teeth to keep from yelling.

Bright Sparl had aknoledged the fact Rose was behind him, but just started arguing with himself. each time, he wpuld be raisng and lowering his head.

"cmon Spark. You can do this."

"but-but the drop looks so large."

"you said it yourself. they wernt going to change your opinion."

"but. theyre my friends..."

the argument went on like this for a couple more minutes, untill eventually  he stonped his back hoofs on the ground, which cause a large rock to fell from the cliff-face, making a huge crash on the ground. He turned around to the centre, nearer to rose.  There he lay, crying.

Rose scooted over to Spark's side, and put her hooves on his. "Thank you," she whispered so very softly. "Nopony has an easy life, Spark. You gotta be strong, like Scamps and Airy and Somber. And like me." She looked him straight in the eyes, clearly under the impression that jumping was no longer an option for him, and smiled.

"no that was me bieng strong. Ive lived with my pains and i had to pull throught. Iv'e been pulling through for 16 years and have never thought of something as drastic as this during that ime. I dont know what it was, but something made me crack on this island."

Stacy backed off from Scamps. She spotted her saddlebag and went over to pick it up. She checked to make sure everything was still inside it then flung it on her back. *I need to away for a while. All this stuff is starting to get to me.* her thoughts ended as she began into the forest. After a few minutes she came to a small smooth rock to sit on. When she did it felt cool, wich relaxed Stacy some. She then pulled out her ocarina and began to play.

Bright Spark got up shakingly. "im, going to take a walk. ill..." he trailed off, "ill see you around." He trotted down the side, a bit cautious so he did'nt slip and ironicly end his life now out of all the times he could. He went back to the springs to see if somber was awake.

Scamps was taken aback by what Stacy said. "That's not true! I think maybe you're being really overprotective! I think maybe Rose needs mor etime than she thought! I think Spark needs to talk to somepony, that somepony being Rose. And I....I think it's time Rose didn't listen to the forest for once!" She said. She couldn't believe Stacy would think that as Scamps sharply turned around, eyeing Stacy behind her and sat down with Airy.

Stacy got bored playing her ocarina and put it away. What scamps had said rang in her head, and it wouldnt go away. "Maybe she needs to stop listening to the forest." That got to stacy the most. And maybe she was a little over protective of rose. She hated scamps right now but stacy also understood. Her leg started to hurt again and she cringied at the pain as it reached her shoulder. *I really need to get this looked at* she thought with worry as she looked around her surroundings.

As Bright Spark went along, he saw scamps appearing as if she had just had an argument. And she was by the hot springs too (?), which was where he wanted to go. And right now, he didnt want to talk. Perhaps, if he walked around the back. Then hopwfully he could get to the springs and avoid talking. He got to  the springs, and snuck around.

Rose watched sadly as Bright Spark descended the mountain. He had barely even acknowledged that she had been there, and had gone down the mountain without her. Maybe he needed time to himself... She didn't know. She just knew that somehow... things had gotten out of hand, and it was probably her fault. Why did she have to go on this cruise? Hearth's Warming Eve would have been a thousand times better if she had just spent it at home alone, like she did every year...

 

She watched, with unseeing eyes, as Spark made his way the long way around the springs. She didn't know what to do anymore. She got up, and wandered into the forest that lie at the top of the cliff's ledge, hoping to get away.

Scamps saw Spark coming towards the springs. "Oh. Hi Spark." Scamps said. "You can come over here and into the springs if you want. Just don't disturb Star and Somber, they're still recovering from injuries."

 

"So, uh....how did your talk with Rose go?" Scamps asked.

Somber had leaned back on Star, a bit more pain in his body from his rant.

 

"Sorry... If I'm... Hurting your wing... Anyways... Who had made... The leaf pillow and blanket? I want... To thank them... For that.. I could feel... that I was.... eating some weird... herbs... Who was... That exactly?", he asked through breaths.

Stacy got up again gritting her teeth from the pain as it went up her leg. It now hurt to barely move it. *ok, lets take this slow.* she thought putting her saddlebag back on while tryin to keep her leg still. After she got it on stacy took a short break to let the pain pass, then started a slow walk back to the springs to hopefully find rose. Or anypony who has medical training. It eventually got to the point where she had to stop every five feet so the pain would die down. *finally! The springs!* she thought happily as she continued to do her three leg limp over. When she made it she colapsed on the ground, as she did her whole leg up to her shoulder felt like it was being stabbed. Stacy screamed in pain and lightly held her bad leg to keep from moving it anymore.

Rose wandered deep into the forest that lie on top of the plateau, uphill. Eventually she found her way to what must have been the highest point of this part of the island, where she found a rock, covered with moss, that seemed to have a natural indentation upon it. She climbed onto the rock, and lie down upon it, curling up into a little ball. She fit perfectly into the naturally formed indentation.

 

She closed her eyes, and breathed in deeply. Now was the perfect time to reflect upon things. She was away from everypony, and all outside influence, she was alone, relaxed, in the cleanest air...

"That was Rose... I think she needs some alone time right now though, Lets get you back on the bed speaking of which... You will ware yourself out... There is a chance we will need to get out of here in a hurry, And you will need all the strength." She said, Leading him to the bed that Rose had made.

Stacy held still as the pain melted away. She looked around quickly and saw..."Scamps! Scamps, i need your help!" Stacy yelled as loud as she could. *I hope she still not to mad at me.* her thoughts were mixed up as she tried to think of anypony who could help her if Scamps didnt.
