Stacy just looked at rose for a few seconds. She didnt really feel like talking..or much of anything. But she had to answer Rose. "Its everything. This trip and all the crap thats happened. Even the months before this. Its all been dull and full of hate or something bad has to happen. Im tired of it all." Stacy never moved her gaze and kept her voice mallow but showing a hint of anger. "Ive changed, and for the worse i think. Im not me anymore....im beyond not being me. I dont know if i ever can again." Stacy pecked Rose on the cheek and started to walk away. She didnt care where she went but she wanted to walk. Everything felt wrong to her, like she didnt belong anymore. She threw down her saddlebag as she walked not carring about it anymore, though in the back of her mind she hopped that Rose was folowing her.

after a quite exersizing climb, Bright spark had made it to the top of the cliff (see? i changed it). Looking down, he could see the shoreline where he woke up. The height nearly terrified him. Just the thought that simply taking one more step will end his life. But thinking about it, that wouldnt be a bad idea...

Rose looked after Stacy, sad and confused. She wished she could follow, but she couldn't leave the hot springs when Somber was still in so critical condition. Stacy needed her, but Star and Somber needed her more. Stacy's life wasn't on the line. Regretfully, Rose took the saddle pack that Stacy had left behind, and took it with her back over to Star and Somber, where she monitored him. His breathing was starting to ease, but he still had a horrible fever. Rose dampened a bit of cloth in one of the cooler, outlying pools, and pressed it to his brow, hoping it would help.

As Stacy walked she looked around taking in the bright colors of the forest to try and bright her mood. But she had little luck. Even thinking about Rose didnt help. Stacy figured she has depression, no, something beyond it. But what could be worse than depression? Stacy tried to feel the feelings she had for rose just not so long ago, but they wer'nt there along with the rest of her feelings. She knew they were somewhere though. Stacy paused as she looked around to get her bearings. After doing so she continued just as she felt her hoof slip from under her. She began to tumble down a steep hill with small rocks cutting her on her way down. She finally came to a stop at the bottom of the hill and didnt move for a minute. She then atempted to push herself up but pain shot through her right foreleg, and colapsed back to the ground crying softly to herself.

Brr... Why is it starting to get colder? I can't feel it, but at the same time, I can... It's weird.

 

Maybe the light will offer warmth... If it will stay in one place. Come on! I want to be with Star! Just stop, light! Please!*

Bright Spark stared over the edge. He knew how stacy felt. A simple move and it could all end, and that move itself was tempting. Just the thought of it was enough. He could never contact his three friends. Every date had either ended in some sort of accident or them dying. His life had been a mess. And now he could come to the conclusion his closes chance had been lost to a bisexual. slowly, but surley, he shifted his right hoof over the edge.

Rose allowed Star to take back over Somber's care, as there was not much more for Rose specifically to do. She heard a rock, tumbling down the cliff to the side of the waterfall. She looked up, and saw Spark standing up there. He looked like he was about to jump. Rose suddenly felt remorseful. Stacy didn't seem any happier now that Rose had declared her decision, and now Spark looked like he was going to jump. Had she made the wrong choice? She had had no idea that she could have such a profound effect on these ponies. Tears again on the brink of streaming, Rose called, "Spark! Don't do it! SPARK!"

Bright Spark turned his head to where this voice was coming from. For most of the time up here, he had only been thinking of his own emotions. But then again, he knew that at least one of theese Ponies would feel bad. HE replied "Unless you've got a good reason as to WHY i should not jump, then i will gladly do so!"

     Firecracker suddenly noticed Spark on a sky high cliff, ready to jump, after Rose tried to communicate with him. "Give us your reason why you want jump. It's not your fault that things had come to this you know!" Firecracker yelled out to Spark in an attempt to stop him.

That did it. The tears Rose had tried to restrain were now pouring shamelessly down her face. "Because you never really tried! Because you still have a chance!" Rose hated it. Even now, after all her communing with nature, after she had thought she had chosen, her heart was divided. Why did love always try and escape her?

Stacy laid on the ground for a few more minutes and again pushed herself up, but this time with her good leg. She stood gaining her balance and she realized she had suddenly been filled with life. Some of her emotions came back, even the feelings she felt for Rose. She finally has something to care for and she was blowing off! *I have to get back to rose.* she thought calmly while keeping weight off her bad leg. Stacy began her trek back to the springs ignoring the pain in her leg, this time making sure to watch her step.

Star had no idea what had happened with Spark, All she cared about now was getting Somber healthy again. "Somber, Wake up... Please just wake up." She muttered, dabbing his forehead with a wet cloth. *Why did the ship have to sink the bloody Shi-* Her thought was interrupted by a large rumble and the ground shaking.

"My life has been a worse mess than Stacy's! my only three friends are un-reachable, And those had been my only friends IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! I had no parents as a kid, all of my dates have ended in tragedy or death. And now, I HAVE THIS TO DEAL WITH!" he returned his hoof to the side, still not showing any sign of regret in this option. "and i swear, if any other pony dies then i WILL JUMP!"

Star looked up when she heard somepony yelling at a large cliff overlooking the hot springs. *Spark is... NO." Star yelled the last word, jumping into the air and flying up towards Spark.

When she got to where he stood she grabbed onto him and pulled him away from the edge. "Somber Is Down There Dying Spark... You CANT Kill Yourself, Your Friends Need You." She said, Staring into his eyes. "I Dont Care What Your Reasons Are... You Are NOT Going To Do This."

I hear yelling... What's going on? And why is the ground shaking? Something isn't right... Huh? Am I... Rolling?

 

Somber's body had rolled facefirst into the springs, his face engulfed by the steam and the water. His body remained motionless, but his mind continued to wander.

Before leaving to join Star on the ledge with Spark, Rose pulled Somber out of the water, and propped him up, placing his head on a leafy pillow and covering him with a fire blanket. The rest was up to him to come back. She had done all she could.

 

She looked up at the cliff with the same wild determination she had had the night the ship sank, when Stacy had been about to jump into the icy water, never to reemerge. She looked around, and found the tallest tree right next to the cliff. She ran to it, and almost seemed to run directly up the side of the tree, right to the top where it should have been impossible for the flimsy branches to support the full weight of a pony. From there, she bounced, and jumped, clearing the ledge and rolling. She made her way over to Spark, and the mere look on her face should have been enough to convince him to submit. "Back away from that, cliff, Spark." Her voice was hard. It was an order.

Stacy was finally able to see the springs! She quickly limped her way to it. As she reached the clearing Stacy saw rose run up a tree and land on a cliff. There she saw Spark looking like he might jump. "Spark! Spark what are you doing? Get away from there!" She yelled at him even though star was already pulling him away from the ledge. *Dammit Spark what are you thinking?* she thought as she began to make her way up the cliff.

Now... I'm out of the water... Is this a bed? It's really comfortable... Makes me want to go asleep...

 

Huh? What's this? What is this light? It's different than the last light... It's bigger than it, and... It's coming to me... I'm scared... Star?

 

Somber could feel sunlight burning into his retinas, as his eyelids gave way to the sun.

Instead of goinginto submision from rose, he went to kiss her. "ah silly rose. i have created cruise ships during a hurricane. I went to military school. your gaze does not scare me." He heared Stacy call out "do you want to see what you actions could have done? because i am not afraid..." he paused for a moment "to jump..."

"Spark... Jumping wont get you anywhere... I will just catch you." Star said, opening her wings. "Somber just jumped in front of a rock to save my life... He risked his life to save mine... And now you're planning on jumping from a cliff ? Im done with this." She said, flying back down to the bottom of the cliff where Somber lay.

Stacy was enraged when she saw Spark kiss Rose and that he was going to jump. She went into a full on sprint still ignoring the pain in her leg. When she reached the top she grabbed hold of spark and flung him in the oposite direction of the cliff. While he was on the ground she went up to and spoke softly but firmly. "You are not going to jump! And you will not kiss her again!" She then backed off and stood at Roses side, letting the anger flow out of her as she calmed down.

Scamps wasn't sure what to do. Spark didn't deserve to die, but what could she say right now? She looked at Airy, wondering what to do. She decidded to do the one thing no pony had thought of; block off the cliff. Scamps flew up and blocked the cliff with her body. "No," Scamps said sternly.

Bright Spark smiled as if this amused him, but his colours had said other wise. "you know stace, that didnt helpp. not only was it all about what i said, it was my one chance was taken by a non-persistant bi-sexual. I could blame this on anypony and i balme it on MY LIFE and YOU, just let that sink in a second. you could be held responsible for a life."

His eyes were near fully open as he looked around. He tried speaking out loud, but all it went out as was a raspy whisper. And his body was shot everywhere with pain. That rock hurt a lot more than it needed to be... 

 

"Is this... the afterlife? Where's Star?" Tears started to come out of his eyes.
