Bright Spark smiled. "yeah, you tell me. I mean the island was interesting enough, but all this, with the volcano and now were actually going home!" he stared off into the distance. "and when i do, im paying for my friends release. and perhaps ill get a garden..."

Somber had followed Star into the sleeping quarters, immediately getting into a bed, and hoping Star could join him. He was glad this nightmare was about to end... He was tired of the sea... He started to get scared of the sea. Mainly salt water. Thank god it's over...

Stacy nodded in agreement. "Well we should probably get her to a bed." She said gesturing towards Rose who was still passed out. Stacy smiled at Spark who seemed to be in a better mood, along with everyone else. She made her way over to Rose and waited for Spark out of a mutual respect for him.

Bright Spark nodded "i think we should." He went over to the sleeping mare, who seemed contempt with not bieng woken up. He used hislevatation magic to pick her up, as carefully and as quietly as possible.

"the rooms are designed to hold two." he whispered, "you can share the room with her if you feel ok with that."

"I agree with you, I'm really tired after all that has happened..." agreed Firecracker. They both went down to the sleeping quarters where they were going to spend the night. "The night looks kinda blue, almost as you maybe..." Firecracker said with a small smile on his face to Moonbeam as he was looking over the night sky.

Stacy folowed Spark to a room and was surpprised when he offered her the room. "Oh..uh..sure, thanks." She said with a smile. She couldnt help but wonder why he had. Stacy entered the room and test out her bed. It was hard, but it wasnt soft either but it will do. "Night Spark." She called quietly so she would wake Rose. Rose looked so peacfull sleeping, even with her mud splattered coat and it added to her beauty. Stacy jumped into her bed and waited for Spark to close the door before she slipped into a deep sleep.

Star climbed into the bed next to Somber. "I just cant believe it...We're really going to go home." She said, Wiping a couple tears from her eyes. "I'm...I'm just so happy." She smiled and closed her eyes. Feeling Somber breathing in and out and in and out, She felt protected and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Just as Bright Spark closed the door, he called quietly. "Goodnight." Before closing the door, trying his best not to have it creek. He saw that a room adjacent was available, meaning he wouldnt have to go far to sleep before his hoofs fell off. The bed he had found was a little hard for his liking, but nontheless fell into an almost coma-like sleep.

Somber smiled once Star got into the bed and crawled up next to him. He smiled. She was very cute when she slept. He nuzzles the back of her neck, kissed it, and drifted to sleep, knowing he was never going to be alone.

Moonbeam giggled as they walked towards the sleeping quarters. She gazed at the sky as well. It was indeed a beautiful night. She quickly crawled into bed upon arrival, inviting Firecracker to lay with her to snuggle as they drifted off into Dreamland.

Firecracker, who was tired, went into the bed with Moonbeam. Suddenly, he felt warm. He didn't know if it was Moonbeam or it was the blankets but it was all nice, It even made himself go to sleep.

 

"Are we there yet?" Staletate asked. "No." Tailgate said patiently. "I answered the same question 143 times..." "So when are we going to get there?" "Look, were going nowhere, Just as long as there is land, were good..." They were in the middle of nowhere, on their raft that they escaped in.

Moonbeam lay in the bed, staring into Firecracker's eyes. She leaned forward and kissed him. It was warm and wonderful. Her face blushed red, and she embraced him. It was just like back on the island. It made her feel safe. It made her feel like anything was possible. She truly felt happy to be with him. The rest of the world faded away, and all that was left were the two of them in a magical type of bond. They were truly in love and that kiss reaffirmed all of Moonbeam's feelings, while stating them in a way more beautiful than even the greatest work of poetry.

Scamps suddenly felt something on her tongue; she soon realized that it was Airy's tounge on her own. Scamps smiled as her own tongue ventured into Airy's mouth as she held him close.

 

After a while Scamps pulled away slowly to breathe. She suddenly noticed how late it was. "Come on," Scamps said softly. "We should get to bed."

Rose was running. Running, running, running. She could hear screaming around her as she ran across the deck of a gigantic ship, and looked back. A giant, glowing orange tsunami was chasing her, and as it engulfed her,  she watched the flesh of her hooves burn away from under her...

 

Rose woke in the dark with a short shriek, then glanced around, slightly confused. She was tucked comfortably in to a bed, and could detect the smallness of the room from the smidge of light that was emerging from the crack under the door. Sitting up and looking around, all she could detect was another bed in the room, and an inert form in the bed. She laid back down, wondering what was going on, and tried to go back to sleep.

Stacy was cummfy in her bed and was sleeping better than she had in a night or two. She was awakened by a shriek. Stacy woke up but didnt get up thinkin she was just hearing things. She lifted an ear to listen and heard shuffling across from her. She pushed herself up groggily and turned in that direction. "Rose? You awake?" She asked quietly incase Rose was asleep and she was just shifting in her bed.

Firecracker had instantly blushed red as soon as Moonbeam suddenly embraced and kissed him, which suddenly impulsed him to kiss her back. He felt like there is nobody else in the world then her, with romance taken over their minds. He had never been happier in his entire life, ever.

Rose heard Stacy murmur... "Yeah, I'm awake," Rose whispered back. Her voice was slightly higher-pitched than usual. That dream... No, that nightmare... had freaked her out. Reminded her... But that was all gone now. They were saved. She shuddered slightly, and drew the covers up around her.

"You ok?" She asked kindly after she heard the slight fear in Roses voice. For some reason Stacy felt full of energy but at the same time very tired. She didnt know why. "Having nightmares?" Stacy asked getting into a better position on her bed which had become quiet soft after she had been laying on it a while.

Rose, half hiding under the covers, nodded. When she realised that Stacy probably couldn't see her, she responded, voice still shaky. "There was fire. Lots and lots of fire. A tidal wave of it. And the screaming... I could still hear the forest screaming..." 

 

She only recounted it for Stacy's sake. She didn't want to relive the experience any more than she had to.

Stacy felt bad for Rose. Having to remember the forest burning didnt sound fun, "Oh, im sorry. Is there anything i could do? Or are you fine?" Stacy asked now worried about Rose and her sanity. If this was going to happen often then she wondered how it would affect Rose in the future.

Rose sighed. At least she cared enough to ask. "I don't think there's anything anypony can do. I'll just..." 

 

Just what? She didn't know. 

 

She tried to hide again in the covers, but sighed and gave up. So she just lie there, somewhat afraid to go back to sleep.

Just hearing Roses frustration and fear i her voice made Stacy heart ache. Stacys love for her and the pitt she felt for Rose tempted Stacy to invite Rose over to her bed so that she could comfort her, but thought it might be pushing it a little. But after a moment of contemplating the idea she decided to ask. "Hey...if you want you can come over here if youre having a hard time sleeping...if it would help. You dont have to if you dont want, i can understand." Stacy made sure her voice didnt sound demanding or sound like she was just trying to get at Spark, which she wasnt.

Rose smiled softly. She really did appreciate the offer. 

 

"Thank you, Stacy. I think I'll be fine." After a brief pause, Rose decided she didn't want to risk offending Stacy again. So, she went on, "But... if a nightmare wakes me again... I think I'll have to take you up on that."

Stacy nodded her head in understanding how she felt, even though Rose couldnt see her. Then Roses next sentence sounded a little rushed. *Huh? Did she think i would get upset or something?* she thought to herself, then replied. "Well, ok. If it does happen, dont hesitated to wake me up again, alright?" She said with the same sweet and soft tone she had used on the raft. Stacy then pulled her covers back over her body and closed her eyes, and feel asleep thinking about Rose.

Rose smiled, rolled over, and closed her eyes...

 

She was in Greenleaf's hut. Growing plants native to the island with the zebra. Laughing, joking, smiling. Rose almost felt at home. 

 

She stopped, and sniffed the air. Was... that... smoke? Brimstone?

 

She and Greenleaf walked out of the hut, looking for the source of the smell. When they heard a distant screaming, they started to run, trying to figure out what was going on. They ran, and ran, until they arrived at the hot springs, where the screaming was loudest. The water was glowing an iridescent orange, not like water at all, but like lava. Greenleaf stared at it, incensed. She started shouting something about a 'betrayal of trust' and 'the anger of the spirits', and then reverted to her native language of gobbledygook that Rose couldn't understand, shouting at the air.

 

The air, it seemed, did not like whatever Greenleaf was shouting, it seemed, as it seemed to solidify in Rose's lungs and around her, holding both her and the zebra in place. She was forced to watch as the water from the glowing orange lava cascading down the waterfall solidified into a gigantic, fiery snake, which moved and weaved around them. She could feel the heat radiating from the snake's skin, inches from her own. Then - it attacked - Engulfing Greenleaf in it's fiery maw, swallowing her whole! 

 

"NOOOOOO!"

 

The snake turned to meet her gaze, meeting her gaze, with its glowing, yellow eyes... It lunged...

 

 

 

 

 

Rose woke, thrashing in her bed, utterly terrified. She stopped, and also closed her mouth, as she hadn't realised that she hadn't been screaming only inside the dream. She looked over at Stacy, unsure if the mare had woken.
