I particularly liked season one's first pilot episode, when Twilight is walking past the hourglass in her chamber, describing how the arrival of the mare in the moon is evident in the near future. You can spot the faint image of Nightmare Moon on the hourglass itself, cleverly combining the aspect of time running out, and its associated inevitable consequence.

I'd have to go with the very first episode. "All the ponies in this town are crazy!" Twilight never knew how right she could be!

Applejack: Episode conveying crazy tic was self-contained and explanatory.

Twilight: Elaborated in Lesson Zero, has yet to reach closure.

Rarity: Multiple episodes are explanatory, however true crazy tic only make an appearance for the briefest of moments in the Sisterhooves Special (Organized Chaos scene).

Rainbow Dash: True foreshadow, detail pending.

Pinkie Pie: Party of One and Baby Cakes elaborate but information is still a bit fuzzy. Foreshadow, detail pending.

Fluttershy: True foreshadow, detail pending.

for some reason, I don't quite understand what foreshadowing means. Might be cause english is not my first language. I don't get wether you are posting episodes in wich it was obvious what the ending was gonna be, or the opposite

Foreshadowing is a dramatic device. It's when the writers put small hints about the ending of the episode or about events that will happen later in the episode. For example in May the Best Pet win, the turtle kept showing up during the song, hinting that it would have some kind of significance later on in the episode.

It can sometimes be pretty obvious, like in the turtle's case, or much more subtle like the reflection of Nightmare Moon in the Hourglass in ep. 01

OOOOOOOH, well then, of course, the Misterious Mare-do-well. It was obvious it was gonna be them in the end, but I liked the way I went from thinking it was just applejack to realizing everyone had their part.

I'd say the best foreshadowing is the image of nightmare moon in the hourglass (s01e01) as stated above. It created a sense of forlorn hope that really emphasized the enormous undertaking the mane 6 were about to take.

Swarm of the Century, with Pinkie asking for all the instruments.

This. At first it seemed like Pinkie was just being random, but she actually knew the solution all along. I didn't see it coming at all when I first watched the episode. Then upon rewatching the episode, I realized how obvious it was and I wondered how I could possibly have missed it in the first place.

That was some very cleverly done foreshadowing

I have to agree about Pinkie Pie in the parasprites episode. I never noticed the Nightmare Moon one though. That's really interesting.

In May The Best Pet Win, it was obvious to me when Fluttershy first introduced the tortoise that somehow the tortoise was going to end up being Rainbow Dash's pet, but when I rewatched the episode and listened to the song, I saw the tortoise pop up all over the place when I didn't notice him before. That was a nice touch to the episode.

Foreshadowing doesn't necessarily mean it pertains to material within an episode or things that will directly relate to an immediately following episode. It means it references something that hasn't happened yet but probably will.

When this device is used to distract the audience from the true foreshadowing, it is known as a Red Herring.

I'd say in the first half of the season one pilot "Friendship is Magic." In the scene where Pinkie throws Twilight a surpise Welcome Party, the song "Giggle at the Ghostie" is hinted at in the background music. That was the sneakiest bit of foreshadowing I ever saw in a cartoon. Well played William Anderson, well played.

I caught on pretty quick in May the Best Pet Win, but never noticed the clever placement of nightmare moon in hourglass during the pilot. For me it was the Mysterious Mare do Well. I caught on near the middle of the episode, but I second guessed myself a couple times.

I'm not sure if it's foreshadowing but mine is the episode with the talent show the Cutie Mark Crusaders enter. Like, the bits where they're preparing and stuff?

That particular scene is called a Montage, wherein passing time is compressed by showing select scenes and shots, accompanied to music.

However it's not foreshadowing since it's both explained before it occurs through plot context, and leads directly into the following scenes where the aspects shown are revealed for their use immediately and directly. Technically it could be considered foreshadowing, but not really since there isn't much time that passes between the preempt and the reveal, nor much anterior plot between them.

'Big crown thingie.'

Ever wonder why Twilight refers to her Element of Harmony as a crown? Maybe we should ask Princess Celestia what's really going on.
