TailsIsNotAlone 3,697 December 24, 2012 Share December 24, 2012 We don't talk about The Simpsons nearly enough here, so I'm throwing them a bone. I think the show is meaningless now, but it was great in the 90s. I'm going to go against the grain and pick Lisa. I identified with her more than the rest of the family. She's fighting a losing battle for culture and education in Springfield, but she never gives up. I admire her for that. "Human beings fascinate me Being just the way they are..." Frances Bean 7 December 24, 2012 Share December 24, 2012 (edited) I voted Lisa, because really, there's only so much humor you can get out of the dime a dozen dimwitted character such as Homer. I too, could relate to Lisa in a way that someone can with a drawing. Bart used to be my favorite, but my tastes changed as I got older. Now that we mentioned the Simpsons, is it really as bad now as people say it is? Hopefully it's not South Park and Family Guy bad in the sense that they've gone on for too long.... Retro*Derpy 3,833 December 24, 2012 Share December 24, 2012 Homer, I think, is best Simpson. Over all just plain funny, and very intelligent! All the random stuff he does really makes the show for me.
Jammo 986 December 24, 2012 Share December 24, 2012 (edited) Homer Simpson has had the best character moments. Most laugh worthy lines came from either Homer or side characters like Ralph Wiggum or Barney Gumble. I like Lisa for her role-model qualities. Too bad she was ruined by her arch-liberal preachiness. In later seasons, nearly everything she said was a "Environment this, science that, intellectualism yadda yadda." She became an obnoxious one-note soapboxer and the writers just ruined her. My biggest beef with Simpsons running so long isn't the decline in quality, it's that it's prime ended so long ago, only half of the series is great now. So years from now, the greatness that the show was with be deluded by all the average stuff. If the show lost it's edge, then was canceled after a few seasons, having this long run of mediocrity wouldn't hurt it's reputation. But the time will come when all those great episodes will become a vast minority. Newer episodes aren't terrible, but having too much mediocrity makes harder and harder to say "I love the Simpsons." Shanks 10,817 December 24, 2012 Share December 24, 2012 Homer Simpson without a doubt, there are many dimwitted characters out there but Homer is one of the most well written. Sure he may do some stupid stuff and much of it is hilarious but every now and then even he does or says something surprisingly profound. 1 Rarity Get's Cockroaches

You also gotta admire his love for the simple things; his family, donuts, beer, and his hammock. Just something I found noteworthy. Plus, he has a really nice laugh. He be far from perfect but he loves his family and would do anything for them and does appreciate donuts, beer and a hammock more than most people I have seen both in fiction and real life. Betez 1,735 December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 Homer Simpson all the way. Mostly because I love it when he says "Dow!", but also, I just love the way he talks. I don't watch the Simpsons that much, though. Key Master 25 December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 Maggie is definitely the best Simpson. She is the most intelligent out of all of the Simpsons, from saving every single one of her family members, to painting Van Gogh's Starry Night. She is humorous in a real sense, making references to Clockwork Orange and Zorro. Maggie can change her own diapers and snipe the fingers off of mobsters. She's just so random, I love seeing what she does since it's different every time.
Sks_Burns 730 December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 best Simpson is clearly Ashlee. Despite her Saturday Night Life scandal, shes still an icon in the pop industry and a series contender to be a top rated pop star selling out arenas in every town she visits. angels_gal 204 December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 I find this show offensive even if i once upon a time watched it. Lisa was the only one who had any sense out of all of the other characters. She was the only one i liked. because she was brainy. Pixel Art made by the talented Bruno!
Flying Whales 311 December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 I’m guess by our choices there that is it only the family, in that case it would have to be Homer; he’s great satire, with some amazing one-liners. In the entire show though it’s Moe and Chief Wiggum are so funny to me. The Simpson’s were great in the 90s, I think the show has just been around too long, like Spongebob for example. It’s kind of sad. 1 Signature Courtesy of Like A Boss
Dr. Nefarious 195 December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 The Simpsons we're great in the 90's and early 2000's, when they started their newer seasons, I thought it was alright, but it's still not as good as it used to be. Concord 1,982 December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 Voted Homer, because i don't really watch the simpsons, and consider i know homer the best out of the 5, it would be logical not to risk it and vote for him. SrFrog 928 December 26, 2012 Share December 26, 2012 Bart has his defects, still at times it just seems like he's the one grounded on reality the most and that's great. A long time ago, I could've said the same about the rest of the characters, but at the present moment they are mostly caricatures of what they used to be. I've only watched like two or three or four new episodes since the Movie, but yeah, Bart is the most realistic and relatable character. He is also the only proof that anything resembling the soul or a higher power exists in The Simpsons universe.
