What is the Superior Species?

Could you imagine?

 

Earth pony segregation! Which does exist since EPs can't really get into Cloudsdale without assistance.

 

No earth ponies allowed bathrooms/restaurants/water fountains.

 

Unicorn or Pegasi parents not allowing their children (if they're not already EPs) to date EPs in fear of disrupting the genetic code.

 

Being a EP would be looked at as a birth defect, and Unicorns/Pegasi would hide their EP children from the world, or put them up for adoption.

 

I'm thinking too hard.

Twilight Sparkle would be propaganda officer of course, creating posters such as "The Eternal Earth Pony" which showed them in derogatory lights and turned the people against the them. Eventually, Celestia would open death camps and millions of earth ponies would die in what is now known as the Ponycaust. However, after an attempt to invade the Zebra Empire the Griffon Kingdoms and Saddle Arabia would intervene and bring down Celestia's tyrannical regime, restoring earth pony freedom.

I can say that the advantages that the Earth Ponies have are, the ability to grow fruits and vegetables.

 

Unicorns have these qualities:

 

• The ability to do magic using their horn.
• Able to do a huge amount of spells.
• Able to use any kind of magic.

The Pegasus can:

• Fly with their wings.
• Fly up to very high heights.
• Able to make a tornado.

I honestly think that Unicorns are the most powerful and therefore superior. I just feel like magic can beat flying. However, someone like Rainbow Dash, who is really good at flying, might be able to defeat a Unicorn. But, when you look at a princess, their magic is insanely powerful, and they are part Unicorn. I feel like the magic of a Unicorn could defeat the flight of a Pegasus, and the strength of an Earth Pony, which is why I think that Unicorns are the superior species. Of course I still love Earth Ponies and Pegasi.

IMO, Unicorns, Pegasi and Earth Ponies are all ponies, different race yes... but NOT different species... we got gryphons, dragons, buffaloes, minotaurs, that fit better in the category of "different species".

Well unicorns have the biggest potential to have a lot of power, with their magic and stuff, so I voted for them. However pegasi and earth ponies are, unlike unicorns, an essential part of the society; without the ability to change the weather and fly and without food, Equestria simply wouldn't be able to exist.

I'm really not sure why people keep making the mistake of assuming that any unicorn can perform any spell.  Twilight is the exception, not the standard.  Unicorns in general can only do two things intuitively with their magic: levitation and enhancing their special talent.  Gravity spells, time spells, flying spells, transformation spells, conjuring spells, etc. are only ever performed by unicorns who dedicate their lives to magical study.

 

Rant notwithstanding, I still think that unicorns have the best chance of becoming Equestrian Nazis and imprisoning the other "inferior" races.

I think Earth Ponies, they're stronger, a larger quantity of them, and they don't rely on magic or wings to do the job, in other words, Earth ponies get shit done, pronto.

Its pretty much a moot point for one reason: interbreeding.

I forget the episode, but in season 2, we see twins born to earth ponies...the Cakes. One is a pegasus and one is a unicorn.

 

There was a time when the three tribes were separate and genetically locked-as we saw in the Hearthwarming Eve episode.

But a 1000+ years of interbreeding has made species distinction fade away.

 

Look at Fluttershy, she is very weak in the Pegasus racial magic. But she can talk to animals and force them to do her will. She looks like a pegasus but she is more of a unicorn. Same with Pinkie: earth pony body, unicorn weirdness.

 

I think its only a matter of a few thousand years till the ponies breed themselves into alicorns.

 

(that said, I voted unicorn just for the telekinesis.)

And, to be very technical with biology terms, Pegasi, Unicorns, and Earth Ponies are either sub-species or races, not species.
