Soooo... This took a lot less time then expected.

 

And if you are a nice person.

 

Rarity's mane is way too hard to draw. At least she lives up to her name.

 

As said in the title, all criticism is wanted, as per usual. I like nitpicking. Tis nice. Just don't mention Flutter's mane. Please. I screwed it up so miserably. So thanks!

 

On a totally unrelated note, does anyone want an advanced Photoshop shading tutorial? I may end up making one if people do.

Here, I'll give you a little critique of sorts. As a whole, I think the picture looks good. The colors are nice and bright. As far as criticism goes, Fluttershy's mane is kind of in a weird position as it's right on her eyeball and I think her shadow should be down more.

I noticed that while writing the post. Which is why I specifically said in the post you do not need to mention Flutter's mane.

Also I probably really shouldn't have said anything because I really don't understand the whole mumbo jumbo behind shadows, but since she's up in the air I would expect her shadow to be further away from her and not particularly right underneath her.

Looks great! The background looks awesome, the characters are nice, the colours are nice

 

Now, what bugs me, is rarity's eye, i'm not sure if it's to low, or to much to the side, but there's something bugging me about it. And wow... you pulled of rarity's mane so well... Awesome!

That's okay. And the shadow /should/ be further down, except you wouldn't see it. So buck it.

As a rule, soft shading does not tend to look very good on show, accurate ponies.

Very nice pic you got there, lets see...

-the direction of Rarity's and Fluttershy's shadows don't match up

-Rarity's horn is just a bit too big and stright (needs rounding), her frontlegs are a bit too straight

-Rarity's  eye should sit abit higher (the black outline shouldn't go lower than the nostrils

-the two of them look a bit chubby around the waist.

-maybe add some hills/mountains in the bakground.

AWW this is cute ^-^ You deserve applause. Instead you get a brohoof. 

 

You've got Rarity's mane and tail PERFECT. I'm serious, too. I've seen many attempts on this forum and this one is one of the best. Speaking of manes, Fluttershy's is good, too; I love it's flowiness. And you drew her wings right, too! Curvy where they should be, and everything! And the house in the background is good, too. It's very detailed and show-like. 

 

There are a couple of things that I do not like, though. First of all, when I saw their noses, I thought, "Oh no!" The top of the nose line should not go any further than the point where it connects with the forehead line. Ever. Unless the character is facing a bit towards you, but that is clearly not what they're supposed to be doing. For some reason, you've overlapped Fluttershy's mane with her eye - what's up with that...? Oh, and Rarity's hooves need to be rounder, like Fluttershy's. Same with her horn - round the top off and it should be fine. It would do if you put Rarity's eye a teensy-weensy bit higher on her face, and if you made her head a teensy-weensy bit smaller. Little details. 

 

Overall nice work on the picture and I hope you grace us with more!

Ohhh it looks really nice! , stunning!

I actually think you did a pretty good job on Rarity's mane.. I guess I'm missing something and not observing very well.

 

If you really want critique(which I know you do because otherwise.. well we know what happens .) I think there is something up with either Rarity's nose or eye or something around that area.. I can't put my finger on it, but something looks off.

 

Otherwise I can't really see anything else to critique, wonderful job firebolt! .
