Do You Like a Pony for a Reason No One Else Seems To?

Rainbow Dash is my favorite pony for the same reasons Stellafera pointed out. I feel like everyone takes everythink about her portrayal at petty face value and doesn't look at how some of those moments helped her grow later on

 

In a sense, I kinda like Rarity in a similar sense(I didn't mind her in Sonic Rainboom comparedto other people)

Soarin'. People don't seem to like his surfer-like voice, and apparent carelessness. I like to call it careFREEness. The fact that he is the best of the best, a Wonderbolt, yet still has almost childlike love for things such as pie, is what makes me find him so underappreciated. His voice is also completely the opposite of what you'd expect from an elite flyer - instead of a snazzy, womanising voice, he has a "because that's my voice, deal with it" sort of voice that I found so unexpected (and totally brilliant).

 

Tl;dr - He doesn't care about looking or sounding cool, he just does whatever the hell he wants, and I love him for it.

It didn't take long for Applejack to become my favorite pony, I noticed alot of people don't like her or like her but not as much as the other Mane 6 characters because she is perceived to be a "boring" character. Sure she is not as hyperactive as Pinkie Pie, as overly dramatic as Rarity, dosen't have the innocence of Fluttershy which many people find to be cute, the brash attitude of Rainbow Dash or the OCD like qualities of Twilight Sparkle but she is still an interesting and far too often overlooked character. I think the genius in her character is her simplicity, she is very down to earth, hard working has great values and is very charming.

i agree, applejack is extremely underrated as a character. she's my second favorite of the mane six. it grinds my gears when people call her a background pony. she's a valuable character and the show wouldn't be the same without her wonderful personality.

Ive taken a liking to Colgate lately, and im not sure why. i guess i just find her completely adorable, and thats good enough for me. 

 

Im also a Flitter fan, but i know why i dig her. The hair, the bow, the cute lil slur in her voice. shes friggen adorable too

It bothers me too, sure she may not get her due as much as she should but background pony? I don't think so, every pony in the mane 6 is important and irreplaceable even Rarity and she is my least favorite.

Blue Blood isn't as scumbagish to me because I read Slice of Life, and now he doesn't seem all that bad. Weird, he was only there for one scene.

 

I also really like Octavia, since she is so amazingly classy and awesome. Plus.... I can't get over her mane... I mean it's just so.... so....

I also like Berry Punch for a strange reason. In my Eagle Project, where I was setting up a Linux Computer lab, I named all the computers after ponies (yes, there is a computer lab out there where all the computers are labeled with pony names and have corresponding wallpapers). Anyway, the one dubbed "Berry Punch" was the only Lubuntu laptop (the other laptop had Puppy Linux on it, and didn't have a hard drive) so I took "her" home to test the software on her. I was chatting with a friend who was helping me with some of the Linux commands, when I say "Hold on, lemme get Berry Punch." He actually freaked out for a moment, since he thought that was a real girl and I had just invited her to my bedroom... And that's why Berry Punch is also an awesome pony.
