As a character he fulfills his role in Simple Ways. He didn't hurt Rarity intentionally and considering that he's a writer traveling around the country - he probably is more interesting than most of bronies give him credit for. He kinda reminds me of Iron Will - people dislike him, because he turned Fluttershy into something she isn't, but the truth is that Flutters did it to herself. He only inspired her. And another quick doodle. A waifu is pretty much your wife but as a character because you have a strong bond and love for that character.
