option to edit status updates

so the title basicy tells it as it is have anypony made a status update and typed something wrong and wanted to change it and cant you can delete it and report it but not edit it so why cant we edit it that would make it so much easyer to get rid of mistakes if you like this idea how a bout being able to brohoof them is well (i know they dont mean nothing just a sugestion but its ok if they dont make brohoofs on status updates plus they get deleted and fade away so that is stupid but just saying) but to edit it will be better and less mistakes will be made  so make the status updates to beable to be edited thats i i want i think this is a good idea

There's a little button that says delete right next to it, copy paste it, and then delete the other one, not much of a problem, you don't even have to report it xD

yes but what if somepony puts something after you deleted and then it wont work thats why i am asking this has happened to me too many times

I think being able to edit your status updates would be a very smart and helpful thing to add.

It usually takes me only a few seconds to realize if I made an error, I als attempt to read over what I typed too.

 

Doesn't seem very necessary since it can be solved by a few extra seconds to read over it

Well, I'm sure it wouldn't be that much trouble to implant an edit button, but I see what you mean and sort-of agree. If it is possible to add an edit button, I do support that, but if it isn't, I don't mind removing & reposting the status update.

Having seen some of the things that IP.board can do, I'd be shocked if the option to let users edit status updates isn't part of the software. Personally, I like this idea. It just seems easier than having to delete your entire post just because you've made a typo or something.

Yeah. I mean, although you can delete it, it takes up a bit more time, and copying/pasting is kind of a hassle, especially if your in a rush. So this would be convenient. Why not?

I've actually searched around the IPS Marketplace and the internet in general regarding IPB mods that would make this possible, and have come up dry. It might be something that Scoots could do some day, but given how massive his workload is I don't know if it's something that he could realistically work on.

thanks for the comments i thought i would get a lot of ponys saying that it is a bad idea but it is the oppersite to that i hope they can make this idea a button (could not think of any other words sorry) so thank you for all you awesome comments thanks
