So your overall thoughts on singing/Music in the show?

 

I personally don't mind singing/music in the show as long as it isn't in every single episode and most episodes don't have the characters singing songs out from nowhere.

 

I'll be a little frank and biased here but I despise musicals with the blazing heat of a thousand supernovas.

 

Yes, I''ll be the guy in a musical telling everyone to shut up. XD

 

That said I do like the songs of the show thus far, again I'm happy it's not done in most episodes.

 

Also music added to dramatic effect is good when a villains shows up.

Some songs are okay..usually it takes awhile for it to warm up to me. I remember dreading Winter Wrap Up, Smile Song, Babs Seed cause it would never leave my head but then the bother went away and now I can't stop singing them!

there are a few songs that i had to listen to a few times before i liked em. Raise this barn for example. but alot i like right off the bat, like Babs Seed, Winter wrap up, art of the dress and pony everypony should know. all in all there is no song i dislike in the show. just some that take a little getting used to.

Personally, I love musicals. Forget the real-world logic that says people just don't burst out into random song, lyrics, instruments, and perfect vocals just popping up out of nowhere. I've got my willing suspension of disbelief right here, if it means I'll hear some pretty music.

As such, I love the songs in the show. They're well-composed, very pleasing to the ears, and most help to move the story along faster or in a more streamlined way(like Perfect Stallion), or show things that would be a little harder to explain with just regular speech(Smile Smile Smile, maybe Winter Wrap Up). Of course, everyone has favorites, but all the rest of the songs are very good as well. I don't think the show would be the same without them.

Generally, the songs are good and catchy which makes the episode better over all (Winter Wrap Up, Raise This Barn being the main 2.) When the first song started (Giggle at the Ghosties), I was worried that the whole show would be singing and dancing but more episodes in, I realized that the songs were well thought out and were really just good songs. There are a few stinkers though (The Pony Everypony Should Know, anything involving the CMC especially) but I usually grin and bare it. The worst thing with the songs was when rubbish songs populated the ghastly episode "Baby Cakes". The poor songs made it by far, one of the worst episodes ever.

Characters in other shows could sing the exact same lyrics to the exact same music and i don't think it would be the same. Ponies just make it awesome.

Same here, my least favorite song used to be Winter Wrap up but now I don't really think I have a least favorite though sometimes the songs placements can seem a bit random like they are just adding a song to add a song you know like adding too much spice in your apple cider.

The songs in the show are top-notch. I seldom dislike any of them (with the exception of some of Pinkie's songs), and I often find myself singing along or I'll have the song stuck in my head. I'm quite happy the finale is a musical.

I love singing or music in the show or anywhere really, I'm a musician and play the trumpet, so maybe I have more of a love for music, but that doesn't really affect my love of singing though.

 

Overall I love like all the songs in the show so far, the voices for all the mane 6 singing are beautiful . And the songs go from beautiful to catchy and just random(Mostly Pinkie's songs .)

 

So yeah to sum it up I love the music in the show, Daniel Ingram is really talented to . He hasn't disappointed me yet to be honest.

Overall, I think the show handles the songs really well. Unlike a lot of other musical cartoons, the songs in MLP don't just pop up out of nowhere, and they generally move the story along in some way, or are at the very least, they're relevant and express something relatively important to the episode. Most of them are also catchy as Hell.

 

I'll admit that there are exceptions, but on general level, I really enjoy them.

A huge part of why we have a thriving brony music community is because our show has songs. If people weren't remixing and covering these songs back in 2011 we likely wouldn't have had the hundreds and thousands of musicians involved over a 2 year period of time. That's also because they are really good songs for the most part and people wanted to do their own versions of them. Season 3 songs have been a little less quality but then again i haven't heard the final yet. Hopefully there will be another track with "This Day Aria"  quality.

Not saying there is a overload of singing, but the latest episode kind of had a bit too much singing. The songs in Seasons 1 & 2 , were pretty catchy and they really got you into the episode. Not saying, all of the songs are bad.

The singing and music pretty much define an episode other than, the plot.

The songs are good, but they must be done in moderation. One song per episode would be horrible, and the amount of singing in this latest episode was also horrible.

 

The best songs are long enough to be enjoyable, but not long enough to take away from the episode overall.
