Becoming a Brony - by ErBoi and Ayralynn

During my nightly ritual of wasting time on image boards

I feel amiss as I spot an image of a cartoon pony, then two, then three

Not much longer does it take for there to be hordes

“What a peculiar meme,” I think, “to fain interest in something so girly”

Putting it aside, I prattle on with internet scum

Over whom the victor would be between Goku or Superman

But more and more I see the words “So awesome!”

Adorned by a rainbow-coloured character with no hands

“Wait a second,” I thought, “could it really be?”

My feelings mix over the very idea, that such men

Could actually, truly enjoy My Little Pony

When nothing seems in it for them

Doing what I always do when life doesn't make sense

I turn to the internet for answers to aid my strife

Listening to what fans have to say and accepting their two cents

I learn they call themselves 'bronies', and many do, in fact, have a life

Curious but still in need of convincing

“At least one episode” I think, it won't mean too much time lost

In a faraway land

Far from you and from me

Twas the land of Equestria

Where ponies roamed free

There were two regal sisters

In charge of this land

They provided for all

Nothing was in demand

The elder brought light

As she raised up the sun

The younger brought night

When the daylight was done

But the younger grew jealous

Of her sister’s bright day

“The night is fun too

Why will nopony play?”

The younger transformed

Called herself Nightmare Moon

The elder had realized

She must act very soon

So she called upon magic

Of the highest degree

Six gems known as the

Elements of Harmony (Give me a break. Nothing rhymes with harmony)

The younger was banished

Locked up in the moon

And the sun was brought back

Once again light was strewn (Can’t use soon again)

Now our story begins

In this land matriarchal

Many ages belated

And with one Twilight Sparkle

Nightmare Moon would return

On the one thousandth year

She would bring with her darkness

Which would never clear

“Take a letter” said Twilight

To her trusty assistant

“The princess must know

We must warn her this instant”

The princess said,                                                 "You need to get out more

So I’m sending you down

To help get things ready

In this charming old town

Ponyville it is called

You can tie up some ends

For the upcoming party

And make some new friends”

The pilot wasn't bad, but not great

And thus far I'm not feeling too involved

But it seems I still have more on my plate

Because the plot was unresolved

So Twilight touched down

With a skeptical smirk

“There is no time for friends

I must get right to work”

But she found her way blocked

By a pony of pink

When Twi tried to say hi

She was off in a wink

“That was weird” Twilight mused

As she walked down the track

“But the first thing is food

In charge is Applejack”

They found this young pony

Down at Sweet Apple Acres

It was easy to tell

That they were apple makers

So later she trudged

With a gut full of pie

The next mark on the list

Was the clouds in the sky

Twas a job for a Pegasus

One called Rainbow Dash

She came barreling down

Into Twilight she crashed     (It rhymes. For the most part. And it sounds better)

They fell into the mud

Twilight’s mane was a mess

So Dash brought out some rain

With the greatest finesse

The next stop on the list

Was the great city hall

Where the décor was all ready

There would be no close call

A white unicorn

Was in charge of this chore

Rarity was her name

And Spike’s jaw hit the floor (I am not sure about this set, but it sounds okay)

When she saw Twilight’s mane

She let out a small yelp

“Now that simply won’t do dear.

You must let me help”

Back to her dress shop

Young Twilight was hauled

“When you see what I’ll do

You’ll be simply enthralled”

The last stop on the list

Was the musical chords

They found that the band

Was a small group of birds

And leading these birds

Was a lone pegasi

And, it being her duty

Twilight stopped to say hi

Back to the library

Where she would be staying

Shrugged off poor Fluttershy

And went inside, saying

“We have to do research

We have to devise

A plan to save daytime

From Nightmare…” “Surprise!!”

Wrapping up the second episode, I'm still lukewarm

I understand at least some praise is in order

For past shows with the same audience followed a quality norm

That made enjoying them seem like something of a disorder

Now I'm feeling content, having given the show a chance

I feel mature, ignoring gender stereotypes

But I think I'll stop here and not advance

After all, I've work to do, and my teachers will have gripes

Yet some mystical force is calling me

Some slight temptation of origins unknown

Telling me to return to see friends like Pinkie

As though I know I yet haven't a feel for the show's tone

She was interrupted

By ponies galore

The one in charge was

The pink one from before

“I’m Pinkie Pie”

She said with a huge grin

“You’re new to this town

So I thought we’d begin

With a party. I met you

When you just arrived

I said “hhuuuhh” and sped off

To throw you this party….”

All the ponies gathered ‘round

At the Summer Sun Celebration

Where all ponies gathered

Each one in each nation

Sweetly sung the birds

Fluttershy got to teach

Then the mayor stepped up

And gave her proud speech

Then some swirly blue smoke

Floated onto the tier

And the ponies looked on

With their eyes full of fear

Nightmare Moon had returned

And her plan had begun

But nopony knew who she was

Save for one

Twilight knew what was wrong

Nightmare thought she was clever

And nothing now could be done

For “The night will last forever”   (hahahahaha)

Not quite sure why, I move beyond episode two

I continue watching, making the show the soundtrack for my work-time

Episode after episode, I sit and view

Maybe I am enjoying it, after all, is that such a crime?

Working and watching, I continue along

I begin to marvel at the animation, inspiring to say the least

Genuine humour, loveable characters, wonderful songs

Who knew this show would be such a beast?

And that, my good friends, is where the deal was sealed

For liking ponies, this has been my testimony

And I see absolutely no reason for me or you to keep it concealed

I am a proud brony.

Looks like a promising song I suppose so far, however Its a bit hard to really judge without any instrumentals or singing or anything. Just curious if you plan on adding any maybe?

If not thats ok, just easier for me to see when it has a definite rhythm and stuff.
