New Roleplay OC (Maple Sands)

Recommended Posts

So I finally got into my first RP, The Haunted Woods. This is a character pic I drew for my OC. Here et is:post-13384-0-87338700-1364177596_thumb.png

The file is quite big, but I think that the forum will make it smaller automatically, so I hope it's still nice quality.

Also, I can't name things.

admirable style you got, man, really nice!

Beautiful OC with a beautiful name (what do you mean you can´t name?), cool how Maples outline isn´t just straight but a bit...

(lack of words) free drawn, looks pretty much awesome, so does the color scheme.

Hope your RP goes well, it must with such an awesome OC, though I don´t know much about him and/ or roleplaying...

Signature made by the amazing ~Harmonic Dreams~

I always pictured you as a cross between Demoman and Pinkie Pie for some reason.

Thanks Cannon. I think free-drawn is the term as well. I usually like sketchy sorta stuff. And thank you very much for the colour scheme! I rarely work with colours, but I tried to make it look good. What I meant by the name is that it has almost no relation to what she does. It's almost uninteresting and doesn't make much sense, since she is an author.

Also, I think that the RP is simple and solid enough to work, and it also has other nice OC's and good people. I don't know much about roleplaying either, but from what I've seen it's like writing a story in parts.

Looking very good, simplistic and effective. You seem to have a very good grasp on mlp anatomy as well, kudos.

-His right eye seems to be missing is outline

-Maybe change the cutiemark to something more ponyfriendly(fewer/bigger keys), but that's personal taste

I was actually just looking through your artwork a little earlier. It's nice to talk to another artist! Thank you for the feedback.

I think you're right about the Cutie Mark. I was wondering how I could make such a complicated machine be easier to draw, so I tried to use a simple model and add few keys, but it could be better with fewer keys.

I'm not sure what you mean, by the right eye missing an outline. You mean, for the iris? Maples wasn't originally supposed to have them, then I realized I had to colour it for the RP players to know what Maple looked like. And that had to include, of course, the colour of the eyes.

I appreciate your comment on my skills on MLP anatomy, but honestly, it's just a roll of the dice if I put the guidelines correctly, or if I used reference, which even then can have some troubles. This drawing was based on a pose Rarity made once upon a time, which is one of the reasons the anatomy isn't too bad. I usually just make sure everything is right by eye.

Also, Maples is a girl. I think I can see some reasons people think she's a guy though.

That would be the missing eyelashes.

As for the eye (Maple's right one, so to our left) , the reason it looked like it had no outline on the inner side is that the white highlight "touching" the skin, there should be a black outline separating in between.

I like this OC. It's pretty awesome. The face look seductive, which I'm not sure if is part of your RP. I also like that "Whoa what" emotion.

Good job anyway. :D

And I've modified it. Thank you for the input, I hadn't noticed that before. Guess it's just something that happens when you're used to working messily. I'll try to pay more attention to these sort of things in the future.
