Gypsy Ponies

I'm a fan of the Gypsy culture. I find them very interesting and peaceful. I am however not one myself but I like to show my respect towards them with this drawing of my 2 newest OC ponies Kether and Umana. It's a simple drawing and I would really like feedback and some criticism so I might be able to improve.

 

 

To any who just Bro-hoof. Please message. I don't care if you just want to complain because I could use the criticism. I really want to improve and the only way I can is with your input.

As someone who has drawn A LOT of gypsy ponies in the past and knows the pain of lacking feedback, I am happy to oblige.

The manestyles and clothing on Umana seem fine to me, Kether looks like he could use a bit more volume to his mane.

Anatomy is were it gets a bi awkward: again, Umana is pretty good, but Kether's legs and snout need some work.

I'd recommend looking at some mlp anatomy sheets (I recommend this one) and some pics of ponies standing upright for reference.

Well overall I think they're pretty well done. Of course its a bit harder to see since its just a pencil drawing. Atleast for me.

 

I feel like the legs on Kether are a bit awkward. The frontal one looks kinda like it might be missing a joint or something, and the back one might be the same, its just kinda bent awkwardly to I'm not sure if thats possible for ponies at all. Might need to look at fixing that anatomy a bit.

 

I think everything else is pretty good. Good job!

Thank you for the advice. the more I look at it, the more I see what you guys mean about Kether. He is a bit... oddly proportioned.

I might be able to fix it. I really do appreciate the Criticism.

I unfortunately don't know the original creator, it was one of the first results I got from googling "MLP anytomy" when I first started drawing ponies. I've been recommending it ever since.

Alright, I think I fixed it. I made Kether's legs a little thinner and changed the overall look of his left hind-leg. I also redid the lines so it might be easier to see.

I'm actually wondering if anyone can guess why their named like that. They aren't just names out of the blue.

That definitely looks better with his leg being lifted like that, it makes it look more fluid and gives a lot more personality :3 good work~
