She's just hanging onto them for safe keeping like a good friend should. Twilight's a neat freak who probably didn't want it cluttering up the library, and Pinkie Pie is irresponsible and liable to make a mess out of her dress. Especially when cake flies halfway across the room from her plunging head first into it.

 

That's the best theory I've got.

Regardless, I almost feel like starting a thread about how Pegasi keep anything that isn't made of cloud from falling from the sky, but I think there's probably already a thread about that somewhere around here and I just need to search for it for some theories.

True, but remember that the play in Hearth's Warming Eve showed that they had structures and such even before the three races were in perfect harmony.

So, today I was watching Bird in The Hoof for the first time and I noticed something weird..... Why does Fluttershy have Twilight and Pinkie's dress in her house?! Any speculation? Mine is that Fluttershy is a doormat and offered her house to store their extra crap.

I didn't notice that when I first watched the episode. Looking at the screenshot, I don't know how I did. The idea behind this is interesting since she was one of the culprits behind eating the cake in "MMMystery on the Friendship Express." And she pretty much did steal Princess Celestia's bird. So, yeah, she could very well be a thief. 

It was a silly kind of morning. I had no heat and was freezing my rump off so it was keeping me warm.

 

But all in all it would make a spoof-tackular fan fiction

 

Yeah, it would be a very funny, fun fanfic to read/write. I'm just wondering how on Earth we went from Fluttershy being a thief to her being an outright murderer. Still, I loved the twists and turns you guys came up with. Very creative and interesting that it should be a fanfic. Now we just have to come up with a title. Hmm . . .

I agree. Angel is a little bitch. I can't stand him. He's such a mean little bastard. But Fluttershy stealing him would be a reasonable excuse for him being such a little dastardly bastard to her.

Okay, so Fluttershy being a cloud thief would be interesting, except that she doesn't like flying... but knowing her dastardly ways, her fear of flight is probably just cover so no one suspects of her taking the clouds and stashing them away in her cupboard for her own uses, all the while taking the broken bodies of fellow Pegasi to build her unholy army and conquer Equestria!

 

And God yes to The Flutter Zone, I love The Twilight Zone!

 

Angel is a meanie because of Fluttershy? Wouldn't surprise me... he had to get it from somewhere!

 

Edit: I know the Pegasi and Earth Ponies have magic technically, but come on now, growing plants is what makes Earth ponies great? The Earth ponies need more demonstrations of great feats, because true magic users are OP right now!

Maybe, in order to give the impression that Fluttershy was looking through her closet full of clothes, the animators just reused the dresses from the gala, unaware a bunch of men would be scrutinizing every hint of continuity in the show.

You know, that's actually a good theory, but perhaps another one is that Fluttershy either wanted to try them on so her friends let them borrow them, or, since we know Fluttershy has some knowledge of dress making, she wanted to study them.

That...is a genuinely excellent idea.

 

Fluttershy, between her job as a caretaker and Element of Kindness, is a world class thief on the run from a crack team of Canterlot investigators who are coming closer to uncovering her secret then ever before.

 

Then a crime lord or whatever kidnaps the Mane Six and forces Fluttershy, only with Spike and Angel's help, to pull off an extremely dangerous and impossible heist: the Crystal Heart.

 

Hell, I might have to write this, I'm so excited!
