i've heard very mixed things about the game. on one hand it's gotten almost endless amount of praise from critics and players alike, on the other hand people has called it out on its extremely dumbed down and featureless gameplay. not that i am able to find that out at all and that i particularly care to.

@, Actually, the gameplay has been told to be just average at best. But you don't buy Bioshock for gameplay, the gameplay is good enough, it's not broken, it's not stellar, it works.

 

It's all about the story.

i don't really see myself playing a game just for the story; an RPG might have a very compelling storyline that twists and unfolds, but if it's an absolute chore playing the game, they might as well have reused the story for a film instead. same with Bioshock, if the gameplay is "average at best", then it's probably mediocre at worst, too. which might make me groan through the rest of the game at best, or turn it off and never bother with it again at worst.
