I liked it from 8-11, then it wasnt cool anymore and I started playing hockey and whatnot

I went back and played the games I had as a kid (red, blue and yellow, as when I was small there was only gen 1)

and...yeah I am not sure what the appeal was

Well that makes sense though. Leaving a fun atmosphere like that is going to cause boredom when you go into one thats much less active than it.
