The globe I remembered was much... jaggier and deeper around the oceans. Weird

You gotta remember that the depth of the oceans is only a few miles. Compared to the earth with a diameter of nearly 8000 miles, that's nothing.

So what's the best way to solve civil violence? Natural violence: A volcano.

Now you said it, that really put things up into the perspective

But once I read somewhere that there is a dam on China that is so large that whenever the gate opened, Earth stirred a bit. Is it possible?

My guess is this: Yes, but the effect is immeasurably small. Theoretically, any mass distribution on the earth will affect its rotational speed, but only big events such as earthquakes can have a profound effect.

How much water is in the Three Gorges Dam? I dunno, but the mass of the earth is about 5.972 x 10^24 kilograms.

So, if we can somehow managed to trigger a worldwide simultaneous volcano eruptions, can we push the planet?

I really think you should all play Legends of Equestria.

No. :P

Not enough power. And no, the Futurama method won't work, either. What you really wanna do is pull the earth with something else; You need to hijack a big enough space rock to even move the earth somewhere else.
