I joined in December and lurked in the time between then and January. That's how I am with new forum sites; There's a lurk period between when I join and when I get active. What if I became active just now? In other words, what if I joined back in December, but only took until now to actually become active because I was extremely busy with so much other stuff? Would I be as welcomed or what?

 

Well, of course you would. I certainly would. Ya seem like a nice enough person. So what if you signed up a long time ago, but never saw all the cool history I'm so very interested in, but no one will tell me because they think it's boring, but I don't care because I really want to know anyway.

Well, if you make productive posts, not become a jerk, and is helpful through the forum, I see no reason why they shouldn't.

But beyond that, I would be a fresh new member to their eyes and my eyes. A completely clean slate.

 

That way, I'd have nothing negative from to deal with, simply because it never even happened. I'd still be as timid as I would ever be...

 

Compared to now, where I'm completely entangled with negative feelings and what I wanna do... Whereas if I became active much later, I'd be more lost at what I wanna do than just being worried at what I wanted to do.

Exactly, I'm not a obnoxious loud man who runs around town yelling about how I'm a Communist and Russian and a Brony. I am actually a rather soft spoken guy around strangers. Unless confronted, then I lecture the hell out of them. And if violence is required I'll gladly beat them, but I'm actually just really quiet and polite.

 

See? You're kind of like Fluttershy. Except for the beard . Still, just leave them alone. If they actually bother you. Talk it out. If they hit you, but not THAT bad and can still leave it there, do so. If they still push it...well, I've heard Russian men are particularly strong physically speaking. Well, most of us were rather shy at the beginning Ganaram. To me, you're a nice guy, likes a lot of physics and building stuff. If you are fresh in their eyes, then even better. You can start by making a good impression of yourself, and go on from there

Of course, I'd never myself randomly get into physical conflicts with strangers. If they pushed me to far though then I'd have to retaliate. I mean, I've killed a man before out of self defense. I'm pretty sure I can handle myself in fight. Even though I completely hate all kinds of violence.

Er, well, it would be nice to have a "What-If Machine" right about now. It could peer into other universes so we can see different possibilities But I'm sure if you ease into things, you would eventually find your place.

Well, Simcity 4 is one of the things you can say you're good at, and it's one of your favorites, and you've also been spending a good while playing it, haven't you? So, it's normal that, in what you felt you exceled more, you woudl be able to make a better impact. Since right now this is more...well..diverse, and not exactly a game where everyone can, well, excel, you should probably worry about what you CAN do. It's not about if you can or not. It's about WHAT you can accomplish or not. If for example you're not good at art reviews, but you are at story reviews or viceversa, then do what's needed. IF you can actually post something of your own, then even better. Or, you can try RPing, giving advice for RPing, or looking for advice on RPing, same thing as I the other topics I've mentioned. This is a big forum, it's a big community, and a very accepting one. The trick is to find what you think you can do and go for it. You'll probably feel shy but, hey, eventually you could get rid of that shyness. And if people praise you for it, either just a few or many, well, that's the moment you should feel proud of yourself . Once again Ganaram, it might take time, it might not. But one of the biggest advices out there is, "Don't just stand there. Do it!". I know you're shy. So I'm not telling you to go all Pinkie Pie at the first second. BUT, develop it. Something good might come from it .

But one of the biggest advices out there is, "Don't just stand there. Do it!". I know you're shy. So I'm not telling you to go all Pinkie Pie at the first second. BUT, develop it. Something good might come from it

 

First, it's not the gameplay aspect that I'm good at, it's the modding part. One of my favourite things is this.

 

That's the only thing I'm "good" at: Imparting knowledge of how the NAM works in general, imparting ideas on how it could better work, as well as a few bits of other modding.

 

The only thing I'm not good at is finding the motivation to try anything else other than that... I could try my luck at BATing, but then I'd just stop right in the middle, though I already know I'm not cut out for that. Texturing, I can find it a bit more fun, but the sheer amount of work stops me every time. I guess what took me about two years to figure out for SC4 has yet to come true with here.

 

Beyond that, there's my art, but alas, massive time restrictions keep me from it. Perhaps I can try again soon...?

I've been wanting to RP for probably the past two weeks now, despite having never RP'd here at all. Well, if there's a way you can actually make your art on a long scale (like, starting it, and then keep it up from time to time), then that's a good way to start (not all of us can do it on a single day or similar. Gotta use what tijme allows after all). As for the other thing, you may not consider yourself the leader type, but hey, so far, the RP just needs the others to get prepared. It's not like you went and made a bad decision. You'll truly know for sure if you can direct the RP when everything is in motion, but until then, don't sell yourself short. That's my opinion at least. But right now, my best advice is, that you let it flow for a little bit, and until then, try to keep your mind off by doing other things (whatever that makes your mind distracted works). Don't let the future worry you so much. It only brings you pain to your mind, which is bad. This isn't something that will define you or whatnot. You're just having fun right now. In fact, look it at this way. Even if you CAN'T conduct the RP, you can always say "okay, what did I learn" much like an MLP: FIM episode. It takes a little while before you shoudl really throw the towel on the whole subject. Think of it this way:

 

Suppose you hadn't mod well the frist time you did. If you had given up, you would have never seen that you were good at it. IT sometimes takes time to see what we are good at. Hell, look at me. Before February this year, I would ahve never, ever, EVER thought I'd be writing something, let alone a fic. I normally didn't put much interest in the literary stuff, even though I like reading. I never thought I should try. One day I got curious enough, wrote a base, and decided to post said fic, on FimFiction and Fanfiction. Guess what? I'm not famous, at all, but most of the people that read it actually liked it, and the length MIGHT be able to surpass the infamous +620.000 words of Fallout: Equestria. I also am writing another fic. See how things can change? Just give it time. I know we said this to you a LOT of times, but hey, unless there's a sinonym of time, I don't know what else to say to you pal .

This is the texture thing I was talking about previously. It's a textural modification for one of the NAM's plugins, and something I've always wanted to develop. Perhaps this place would become my primary source of feedback, as with posting about it on my "home sites" as I continue.

 

 

The only constraint here is the amount of work needed, and executing such work in an efficient manner. Believe me, I got good at transit modding extremely fast.
