They associate the term "brony" with the "autistic" or "cancerous" side of the fandom and they do not wish to associate themselves with that part of it, so they call themselves ponyfags. Why "ponyfags"? Because that's just a 4chan thing to do, add "fag" on the end of a noun and use it to describe a certain type of people. Themselves, namely. [insert noun here]fag isn't necessarily offensive to them.

 

I don't hate it because I don't concentrate on the stupid shit that the fandom has done, because I'm not a cynical bastard. Stupid shit happens everywhere, all the time. The people that hate the fandom because of the actions of a select few bronies probably hate the rest of humanity because of the actions of a select few humans.

I knew how they loved to add 'fag' to the end of everything and mean nothing by it at all. Its just funny how they don't wanna associate with the rest of the fandom and also have a technically worse name.

 

I'm actually usually completely oblivious to much of anything that goes on in this fandom. I learn of all the crap that happens really late.

Don't really care to know about it though. Its whatever.
