I dunno, sci-fi movies seem pretty generic to me and Star Wars VII failed to impress me much.

they are yeah... but never walk into a movie expecting to be impressed.

Maybe I'll just drink some sparkling water and collapse in exhaustion afterwards.

A better effort.

If you choose to rest then do it, I'm trying to stay up.

Would I be too harsh if I used these as rules for a request shop thread?

Spoiler

RULE -1: Before posting any request, please let me know that you read through the entirety of these rules. Failure comply with the rules may result in your requests, present or future, being terminated without warning. I will not accept any requests whose requester does not acknowledge these rules.

RULE 0: My primary art style is flat design (minimalism), so do not expect me to draw anything that does not comply with this art style. Examples are provided <location>. If you are not fond with this art style for any reason at all, then DO NOT MAKE A REQUEST HERE!!

RULE 1: I will take the first <number> request(s) that come in; afterwards, the request shop will be closed.

RULE 2: Please do not ask me to do:
 - Anything that is NSFW (duh...)
 - Shipping (I don't know how)
 - Anything beyond basic pony anatomy (I'm not familar with anything else)
 - Canon characters (I'm not too familiar with them)
 - Anything that conflicts with rule 0.

RULE 3: Please avoid asking me to do:
 - More than one pony in a single request (otherwise, your request may take longer to do)
 - Any sort of complicated physical feature or pose, such as curly hair (I can only do so much and I'm still learning)
 - Complex backgrounds (simple backgrounds are fine)
 - Anything that conflicts with rule 0.

RULE 4: Please clarify any details that conflict with rule 3; otherwise, those details may be skipped or modified without warning, or your request may be delayed or ignored.

RULE 5: Please understand that:
 - Requests take time, so don't rush me.
 - I can only do whatever I feel is comfortable with me.
 - This is the ONLY art style I will ever do and the ONLY art style I am most comfortable with, so do not complain if it doesn't meet your expectations; I've given plenty of warning as to how my art style works.

You're mighty redundant with a good bit of "rules" in here on things that should either be common sense or was already strictly told above.

THat entire first one at the top isn't even needed and i feel like it'll just push people away almost instantly if they have to do something like that. It's a small thing to do, yes, but its just kind of the principle. If they ask for anything that doesnt comply, then you know they didn't read up or didn't read it well. Besides, what's keeping people from just saying they did anyhow?

0 is fine as is minus the very last line. You don't need to all caps/scream it to the heavens after you just said the same thing two seconds beforehand. If someone somehow manages to still do just that, then you ignore them.

1 is fine, but its more of a guideline for how you're going to work than really a rule, but hey.

2 is mostly fine minus a few things. Not wanting to do canon characters because you're not familiar with them, but..you're also not familiar with random people's ocs like that. What's the difference in the two and what's there to make the requester not just walk away if you cant (or wont) do unfamiliar things, which, you're asking to do with the thread. Its contradictory, really. Then, restating the "Rule" 0 isn't exactly needed either and is also a bit extra, but only in the way of like, saying something in a more convoluted way than needed. Even if its still redundant, you could just say to not ask to do anything outside of your style if you just have to have it there.

In 3, taking longer isn't exactly a bad thing and shouldn't directly be looked down upon so long as you make it known that it *will* take longer than a normal one. THat being said, it IS ok to just not want to do more than one pony at a time because you don't want to. You should just say it like that though if that is the case rather than giving some alternative that isn't just the best reasoning. Again, you dont need to refer back to 0 in every single one of these.

4 could have just been thrown up there with 3, really and not a separate one. Which, now that I look at it, how are they to clarify them if they're also not supposed to ask about them being done? I know you didn't strictly say that they wouldn't get done if they had all of that, but still. It might be a bit confusing to read one thing and then see another two seconds later.

5 also hits that area of "not really a rule, but more a way of things". You could just state it and be fine without having to make it seem like there's some terrible punishment or something for not following what it says. Last line is also a bit unneeded cause it, again, just restates what's been said at least three times by this point. I, personally, would also just not have the very first bit of it being the only style you'll ever do cause its not exactly an important part to note.

New question: am I being too harsh on myself?

Maybe a little, but it's a way to keep yourself to improve.

However, being too harsh could be stressful.
