The two adversaries just stood there for awhile, eyes locked. It wasn't until Nexus charged the changeling that things kicked off, and moved in for a swipe. He missed, and was greeted with a buck kick to the chest. The armor of the personal Guard took the brunt of the attack, and Nexus flapped his wings, hovering to the ceiling and diving down. Although he missed the stab, he did manage to cut its side, causing it to yelp in pain. It turned to face Nexus, who had landed, and began to fire off magical blasts.

 

Nexus frantically dodged, but did get grazed in the right forelegs, drawing blood. The blood was not the usual red, but was not changeling green either.It was...purple? Why did he have purple blood? That was a question that would be answered later, for now, he needed to finish this. He got in close, and thus began about two minutes for both parties swiping and dodging, neither one landing a hit. Eventually, Virus grew tired of this, and shoved the hybrid back with a magic push. Nexus kept his footing, but was then tackled by the changeling commander. A ball of green energy began to grow on its horn. Nexus struggled fiercely, until he managed to get a hoof free.

 

He stabbed his claw into its forelegs, causing it to cry out in pain, and drop the spell. The hybrid pulled back, seeing small arcs of lightning course through it, before kicking it off with both hindlegs. Virus hovered now, as its leg was too damaged to stand on it. It charged Nexus, while he thrusted his right claw forward, meeting the changeling in the gut for the fatal blow.

 

(You write Virus' death and final words, and I will handle what happens to Nexus as a result to its death.)

Virus' eyes went wide pupils dialating letting the pain and shock sink in, and then came the scream in was loud and piercing to the ears of ponies outside of the hospital but to those inside the room it caused temporary deafness. It only grew louder the longer Iit drew out and by the time it was at it's peak a huge beam of light burst forth from the now lifeless body the blast sending everything back a few feet it was sent right through the roof and up into the sky dark clouds circling the cylinder. When it stopped there was silence but for only a few seconds before the cries started ringing out, the cries of every changeling in town undercover and not some began to run but others started attacking they knew what to do now sink their fangs into their victims and feed emotions straight from the bodies sucking them dry until they're emotionless vegetables.

Nexus would have grinned at the screaming Virus, but the minute the beam went off, Nexus started screaming too, crumbling to the floor, writhing in pain. When the beam ended, and the changelings retreated, save for some savage ones, who attacked Ponyville to suck dry the first ponies they see, the hybrid pony known as Nexus laid on his back, breathing weakly, barely conscious. When Virus died, the piece of it that resided in Nexus died too. It drained him, and has left him near death. He turned his head, looking with the one green changeling eye that wasn't covered, towards Parcel and Luminati. He gave them a weak smile, glad that they were OK. He was happy that he accomplished something that he could not all those years ago. He stopped it this time.

 

"P-Parcel." He said weakly.

 

"Something happened...when he died...the piece of him within me died too." He paused to take a few breaths.

 

"I...we...did it. We got him. The bastard that did all this." He smiled ear to ear, looking up at the ceiling.

 

"That was...that was for you Dad. And for you Mom. And for Meryl, and for everypony that died that day. The day my life was thrown astray." He coughed badly, before turning to Parcel again.

 

"I-I don't think I'm going to make it. I...I'm dying. B-but it was worth it. At last, I made the bastards responsible pay." He chuckled weakly.

 

"Shame I never got to kill their queen, but what can you do?" He sighed deeply, looking at his jet black hooves. He turned to see his transparent bat wings. And the purple blood stains on his foreleg.

 

"Parcel, before I go...c-can you...change into Meryl. I...want to hold her one last time. Can you do that, Parcel. Please?" He figured that if he was going to die, he might as well do it in the arms of the filly he cared for like a daugher, and give Parcel whatever love he had left.

Luminari was on her side blown back by the blast of light her head hurt and het ears ringing unable to hear a thing. She looked up to see Parcel tears streaming down his cheeks looking desperate and wild there was the Nexus she had met earlier limp on his back. Everything was moving in slow motion Parcels mouth was moving but his words didn't reach her ears. She tried standing up but failed her second attempt she managed to shakily get to a standing position Parcel moves passed her and out the door and she slowly followed after him it was dawn now and most of the changelings were out of the hospital out on the town. When she finaly stepped out of the hospital her hearing had returned and Parcel was on the lawn wailing and screaming moarning his friend the wings onchis back bent from carrying the pony. She started to cry then she hadn't known Nexus for long but she could tell that he was a good friend and then the pain started going away and she looked down and saw a changeling attached to her neck and sucking the color from her coat leaving her grey amd colorless and she screamed.

Nexus found himself on Parcels back, being carried out of the hospital. It was dawn, and the changelings were in retreat. He looked around, and saw a that Parcel was crying, as was Luminati. Nexus realized that he was partially wrong. Changelings are mindless monsters because their queen forces them to be. Because their hunger compels them. But when a changeling overcomes that, that influence, that drive, they can be just as great as normal ponies. Maybe not all changelings deserve to die. But the one that Nexus spotted attacking Luminati, that one definitely deserves death. He slid off Parcels back, and began to wobble his way to the mare. He tripped occasionally, but finally made it. Just in time too, she looked almost drained. Nexus swung his claw into its gut, and within seconds, it was dead. That...took the rest of his energy. He crumbled to the floor, next Luminati. He looked up into the sky, and managed to choke out.

 

"See you guys soon."

 

Nexus closed his green changeling eyes and went limp. Nexus Tersona, the batpony that became a changeling hunter in the quest for revenge. The pony that endured the last 16 years full of regret and misery, who came to the small town of Ponyville, and fought of a powerful changeling in his mind, and in the flesh. The pony that became a hybrid, so that he would not hurt the first friend he made since the clan. Nexus Tersona, the batpony to walk through Tartarus and back, was dead. His claws stopped coursing lightning, the patch on his eye no longer glowed. He lay motionless in his father's Personal Guard armor, which shined in the morning sun. The wound in his foreleg stopped bleeding, the purple substance resting on the wound.

Parcel didn't know what to do so he just stared at his friend dead on the ground there was nothing he could do he thoughtback to when he firsr met Nexus how badly he feared and resented him and how much the bat pony hated one changeling. He thought of how they had lived a lifetime in under 24 hours the pain they went through but also a few laughs here and there. He wished he had more time to get to know him and he was already gone.

 

But then something started to happen his chest began to glow a shinning light growing brighter and brighter until the light flew from his chest and zoomed along the ground until it came to Nexus' body disappearing into it. And then more appeared forming and flying then disapppearing then some started coming from Luminari and Parcel was afraI'd and he tried to stop them but the unicorn put a word in front of him that made him stop "Good" he looked at her then back at Nexus watching to see what would happen next.

She recognized this voice.  "Corkscrew!" she exclaimed happily, immediately perking up.  That was when she realized why the pegasi's voice had sounded so faint and pained.  "Oh my goodness!  Corkscrew!"  She galloped up to him and tried to see where the worst of his injuries were.  "Oh no, oh no, oh no, this is all my fault!  If I wasn't such a scaredy-pony, you wouldn't have had to come and save me.  I'm so so so so SO sorry!"

 

"Come on Fluttershy, we got to move," Corkscrew said. "I'll be right behind you. The elements are needed. Fly as fast as you can. I'll be right behind you." Corkscrew turns his head away from her to hide the fact he was coughing up blood.

 

Tears were streaming down Fluttershy's face.  "You... you promise that you'll be right behind me, right?  B-because I'll look and make sure that you are!  And I'll carry you if I have to!"  With that, she took off and headed to the mouth of the cave.  Out there was a mad and dangerous world, but today, she had to be brave and face it head-on.

 

Plagal Cadence

 

"Alright, Fluttershy-like appearance; check; Element of Harmony; check!  Come right in!  Did you hear that guys?  We're halfway there!"  Plagal wasn't able to say much more when Fluttershy cut him off saying how Corkscrew was badly hurt.  "Wait, Corkscrew's hurt?" Plagal asked, suddenly beginning to go pale.  "Oh shoot; this is not good!  He's the only one of us who's trained to fight!  Curses, what are we going to do!  I'm just a composer in ill-fitting armor, I'm useless!  I can't-"  He cut off when he noticed the worried looks that he was getting.  "Well... um...  Woohoo!  Optimism and inspiration!  ...er, gods, did I just say that?  Miss Pinkie Pie, perhaps you should take over this whole 'inspirational' thing..."

Fire Star

Fire was looking out side and he saw Corkscrew coming with Fluttershy. Fire saw Corkscrew flying to his house and he saw Rainbow Dash and Storm Cloud approach to his home to. Then Corkscrew lands and then a  Changeling jump Corkscrew he fights that changeling off of him. But he was hurts so bad he drag himself to the door.

 

Fire ran out of the library when Rainbow was beating on the door's and yelling for someone how have.

Medical training Fire walk to Rainbow Dash and said " I do" But look like she did not hear him. He said to Rainbow Dash  " HI RAINBOW I KNOW SOME MEDECAL TRAINING" Fire yell at her." That well get her attention" Fire thought to himself.

Corkscrew was getting used to the pain. As he flew to his house he kept a close eye on Fluttershy. His wings seemed to be the only thing that didnt hurt. He tried to keep a smile on his face despite of the pain. When he say Fluttershy enter the house, he let out a sigh of relief. He was a few hundred yards behind her. As he approached the door, he sees Rainbow and Storm Cloud approach. When he lands, he walks slowly towards the door. A changeling jumps him in front of his front window. It tries jump him from behind,but Corkscrew anticipates its attack, and uses the last of his strength to launch the changeling with his hind legs. He pulls himself to his door,and knocks once before collapsing.

 

 

Rainbow Dash

 

Having just landed, Rainbow Dash sees a changling go flying throught the air.

 

"Wow, somepony is kicking changeling butt! I better get over to Corkscrew's house.

 

Upon arriving at Corkscrew's, she sees the pegasus collaps. She begins beating on the door and yelling.

 

"Is there anypony with any medical training! Corkscrew's down!"

 

Dash was hoping that if worst came to worst that Twilight might know a spell to help Corkscrew.

"Oh thank Celestia! We need Corkscrew as good he can be when the Changelings come. I could probably take them on myself, but if I need backup, Corkscrew's my main pony. I've never seen him hurt like this. How could this have happened. I'll try to cover you while you heal him."

 

Corkscrew

Corkscrew awoke to see that Rainbow Dash had made it. He looked around, still unable to stand.

 

"What the heck are you doing Dashie! Get inside. It is my....Job to protect the elements! Get your flank..." Corkscrew grimaces with a look of pain, "In that house and stay there till you can use the elements to drive theses.."he pauses for a second. "These vial changelings back to where they came.."

 

Rainbow Dash

"Shut UP and let the fox heal you! Sometimes I think you have a harder head than me, and that's saying allot! Look, I appreciate what your trying to do for us, but this isn't flight camp. Fluttershy and I....well at least I can take care of myself."

 

Rainbow looked at Corkscrew in his injured state.

 

"Look, I appreciate all those times you looked out for us in Flight Camp. Just let us repay you once. Just let the Fox do his job! Your no good to anypony dead!" 

 

Corkscrew

Corkscrew nodded and closed his eyes, allowing the Fire Star to get to work. Corkscrew hoped that the fox pony's magic was up to task. He had never had magical healing before and was scared for the first time since he was a colt. Under his breath he could be heard mumbling. "Magic healing is your friend. Magic healing is your friend."

PARCEL

 

Tears streamed freely from the changelings eyes, at the sight of his dead friend. Nexus had unknowingly sacrificed himself to kill the commander of this invasion, and to drive back the bulk of the invasion force. Some changeling remain, and have gone into a feral state, attacking anypony in sight with no care for self preservation. a statement rang through Parcels head.

 

"Parcel, before I go...c-can you...change into Meryl. I...want to hold her one last time. Can you do that, Parcel. Please?"

 

The changeling approached slowly, sobbing as he went. He would grant his friend his final wish. Even posthumously. He shifted into the little bat filly, and worked himself under the hybrids good arm-the one not bloodstained. He continued to sob, pulling the arm around him, minding the claw. He brought himself to his side, and just lay there, mourning his loss. He was so lost in this, he didn't even notice when the eye on his chestplate began to glow.

 

NEXUS

 

Nexus floated in a void. He wasn't sure how he got there, but he didn't really care for the details. Eventually, he saw two things appear before him. One was a blob of white, almost resembling a gateway. The other looked like a planet. The planet was home of a country known as Equestria. Nexus regained control of his wings-which for some reason were normal here, he wasn't a hybrid in this place-and began flying forward. Eventually he reached the fork in the road, and had to pick a path. After some contemplation, he decided to fly to the right, towards the planet. It just felt natural to him. Like he belonged there. Soon he picked up speed, a LOT of speed, until he was a fireball, crashing into the planet. He fell towards Equestria, towards the central area, towards Ponyville, towards the hospital, landing squarely on a dead hybrid pony, in heavy armor. Everything went white.

 

Soon the hazed cleared, and Nexus slowly opened his changeling like eyes. He remembered this feeling. He felt it briefly when he attached a line to both Virus and Parcel, back in his mind. He also felt love. A lot of it. Love for Luminati, love for ponykind, love for him. And he felt himself getting restored by it. He was...feeding. He glanced over to see Meryl cuddling up to him, sobbing into his armored side. He felt it was Parcel, and it...he didn't seem to notice. He soon saw his bad foreleg heal, the bloodstains vanishing. Soon, he was back to full strength, and pulled his line from Parcel. He felt that, and looked up, seeing Nexus get to his hooves. His patch glowed again, his claws coming to life with lightning. Nexus shot him a grin.

 

"Looks like we're even now." He said in a upbeat tone. A tone not heard in 16 years.

Fluttershy was relieved when Fire appeared.  He would know just what to do and Corkscrew would be as good as new, or at least she hoped that this was the case.  She noticed something about Corkscrew though.  He was trying to hide it, but he was afraid!  Fluttershy knew that she had to do something about this.  As Fire was starting the process, she approached the wounded pegasus and slowly removed his helmet.  She winced when she saw a nasty gash on his head, but was soon able to look past the injury to see the equivalent of a frightened foal getting its first shot.  Softly, she stroked his mane and spoke to him, "It's okay Corkscrew, Fire's just going to use a teensy weensy bit of magic on you and then you're going to feel all better.  I promise you that I'll be right here the whole entire time, so you don't have to worry about anything!"

After a few minuets of healing, he was able to stand, but something was different, he just couldn't put his hoof on it. He opened his mouth to say something, but decided agents it.

 

He walks over to Fluttershy and gives her a hug. Thanks for being there for me."

 

He picks up his helmet and puts it back on. He walks over to Firestar and gives the fox pony a giant bear hung and thanks him for his help.

"Thanks buddy! Just one question though, what kind of magic was that. The only pony I've ever see use a spell that powerful was Celestia when a cadet broke his wing in training."

Fire Star

Fire tell Corkscrew " Rainbow Dash will be ok, you need to be heal first." Fire start to use his magic to heal Corkscrew. Fire noticed Corkscrew was scared of is magic he tell Corkscrew " You be ok you have my word" Fire tell Corkscrew hoping he comes down. This is Fire first time using healing magic on a pony, but he have confidence on himself. 

 

Fire magic start to heal Corkscrew but, Fire start to use little more, more magic on him. Fire start to get tired, but Fire didn't know why. Corkscrew start to glow Fire try to stop but his magic kept on going. Fire started to worry hope he well not kill him, and then the magic stop Corkscrew was healed , Fire was exhausted but he look at Corkscrew was ok. Then Corkscrew start to hug Fluttershy then he walk to Fire and give him a big bear hug.

 

Fire look at him and said " Well to be honest that was my first time using healing magic but you start to glow. I all most lost control of it but I was able keep some control I think" Fire was happy he was OK. Fire thought he felt someone helping he to heal Corkscrew. Fire walk to the window and look up to the sky and he saw a black alicorn and like that the black alicorn vanished. " NO it can't be" Fire said it in a low ton. Fire turn around and saw all is fiends if he can call them that, Fire shake his head " Yes I can call them that they help me a lots of time" Fire was happy he have friends in ponyville. And he well keep this town safe with is friends in it.

Plagal looked at the pegasus as though he had three heads.  "Oh... um... er... o... okay..." he stuttered, unused to anypony making more intentional physical contact with him other than a hoofshake.  As he awkwardly hugged Corkscrew back in response, he tried to think of the last time he had received a hug.  He concluded that is must have been before his move to Ponyville, and that it was probably from his mother.

 

After being released, looked around at the ponies crowding them.  "Alright, so now that Miss Dash is here all that we're waiting on is... Miss Sparkle and Miss Applejack, correct?  I assume that they should be arriving any moment now."

" Ok Apple Jack let's beat those Changelings" Twilight and Apple Jack ran to were Corkscrew and her friends where at. When they were running to Corkscrew house some Changelings come to attack them. Twilight use her magic to make a barrier around them, it pushes the Changelings away for them.

 

When they got to Corkscrew house she saw Fire in Corkscrew house she was wondering why he was ther, but that was not a important right now. Twilight went in Corkscrew house and got the Elements of Harmony she give the Elements to her friends. And then " All right girls it is time to end this invasion." That said all the Elements start to glow as bright as rainbows. And then a bright rainbows come out of the Elements, and the Biggest Barrier come out, and it pushes all the Changelings out of ponyville.

 

After that all the ponies in ponyville are save now, Twilight smile and hug all her friends " Thanks girls."

 

(Now ponyville is save Fore now.)

(OCC I hope this end the Changelings invasion sorry if this is not you wanted sky but I hope it still works)

he just stood there still as a statue apalled at what had just happened, "you.....you were.......you died! What the heck I saw you die how is this even possible you were dead."

he couldnt take his eyes off Nexus his friend who he had lost and was now ALIVE!

dizziness over came her and she nearly fell but kept her ground and put a hoof on her shoulder, which was bleeding from the changeling fangs but it didnt hurt too bad after all this pony which Parcel obviously cared so much about was ok. but there was something wrong she didn't know what to feel where were her emotions she couldnt feel them so she looked down at her hoof noticing that the color was still in her pony flesh but she couldnt feel anything she was numb.

 

(she'll get her emotions back it'll just take a bit. btw sorry for posting so late)

Nexus beamed with a renewed vigor, looking down at his changeling friend.

 

"I actually am not quite sure. I believe I was...feeding off your love. I must of gotten that ability when I became a hybrid." Nexus thought a moment, and decided to test something. He shifted-slightly slower than normal-into Parcel. Nexus looked at his hooves, amazed.

 

"Looks like I can change form as well." He said in Parcels voice.

A small chuckle escaped his lips which grew into laughter and then he was roaring with laughter tears streaming down his cheeks. When he had finally calmed down and dried his tear and then gasped, "the town is still in chaos we need to get everypony out of here."

When Parcel was laughing she looked at him curiously, what was he doing? Then it slowly sank in, h-he's laughing yes that's it laughing....because he is happy... and I am happy. Yes very happy indeed.

She grinned the few moments of emotionless blankness made her shiver. She would've wished that on her worst enemy.

Nexus nodded, still smiling, and actually sharing some light laughter.

 

"Alright, lets go finish saving the day." As soon as the words, a blast of energy passed by them, and one could see feral changelings flying off into the distance. Nexus laughed heartily,something he hasn't done in years.

 

"Well, that takes care of that. Guess we aren't the only capable fighters." He said with that ever present grin.

 

"Come on, let's get back to town."

He looked up at the retreating changelings in confusion first of all he was surprised at the amount of changelings that were in Ponyville so many for such a small town when usually they would've only put in a few at once. Chysalis must've been really serious about taking over this town but that doesn't explane the retreat usually changelings faught to the death even if their leader was killed. But why would they fly away now? Parcel tried pushing this thought to the back of his head that maybe the battle wasn't over just yet.

Having so many emotions return to her at once was a bit overwhelming but she stood still for a minute letting each emotion come and pass surprise, content, anger, depression, shy, frustrated. All came in wave after wave she had no idea she had so many emotions until they all came rushing back to her and agreed to herself that she would take her feelings for granted ever again and would start to show her emotions more. When the waves of feelings finally stopped she looked up and noticed that the two ponies she was just with were now walking away and she chased after them catching up with them out of breath but smiling.

As Nexus walked down the path, he could feel the energy that was released. 

 

"Oh, that's right. Corkscrew was gathering the Elements. That explains the blast. I doubt feral changelings would be seen sailing out of town otherwise." He said, looking up into the sky. He changed back into his true form, Soon, they were back in town, and ponies were startled by Nexus' appearance. He ignored it and continued on, until he ran into Dogboots.

Plagal Cadence   Plagal looked at the pegasus as though he had three heads.  "Oh... um... er... o... okay..." he stuttered, unused to anypony making more intentional physical contact with him other than a hoofshake.  As he awkwardly hugged Corkscrew back in response, he tried to think of the last time he had received a hug.  He concluded that is must have been before his move to Ponyville, and that it was probably from his mother.   After being released, looked around at the ponies crowding them.  "Alright, so now that Miss Dash is here all that we're waiting on is... Miss Sparkle and Miss Applejack, correct?  I assume that they should be arriving any moment now."

Corkscrew

Corkscrew released Plagal from the awkward hug.

"Sorry bout that.....I guess I'm just so happy not to be dead...er.....yea....I don't know what came over me. Let's never speak of this again." 

 

Corkscrew looks down the street to see Twilight and AJ coming.

 

"Plagal, I think I see them coming now. This should be over, soon!"

Corkscrew calls Twilight over and hands her a scroll that has the seal of the guard on it. 

 

"Here, this is your brother's spell, I was hoping you could use the elements to amplify it and drive those buggers out of Ponyville for good!"

 

Once there, the ponies go into Corkscrew's den, where he has a battle map of Ponyville on one of his tables, as well as a scroll from Canterlot.

With a sudden blast, all of Ponyville is cleared of Changelings. 

 

Corkscrew looks at the group in front of him.

 

"Good Job everypony! We did it, for now at least. My only fear is that the changelings will now target another town in Equestria or bide there time. As we learned in the past, the spell can only last so long."

"That's good to hear," He said limping still from his previous injury. He was quite surprised that they managed to prevent the changeling invasion.

 

"I just wish I could've done something to help," He frowned looking at his injury. The stallion wanted to help the others out, but knew he would be a ball and chain to them.
