Little Fire Little Fire wipe away his tears and look at Corkscrew he give him a confused look and Little Fire lite go of Corkscrew. Little Fire ask him " I not broken Brother" Fire tell him. " And you do not have to repay me at all brother just be my brother and I all was well be by your side brother that way we are BROTHERS!!" Fire tell Corkscrew with a big smile. Princess Luna Luna look at Corkscrew and said to him " My big sister have some thing for you but she well not tell me at all you need to ask her your self Corkscrew" Luna tell him in her royal tone. Luna look out side through the window and she turn her head to Corkscrew and said to him " If I have to choose I will put you back to normal but is end up to be my sister choice not mine" Luna said to him. Luna started to look serious at Corkscrew " Ok now to start your training and we answered your question we well start now" Luna put up a block. " I will throw the block to you and you have to catch it in mid air know worries I well not throw to hard to you" Luna tell him.

 

Corkscrew

After a few hours, Corkscrew was starting to get the hang of his new magic, though he wished he could feel the joy of it. He looked over to Fire who was eating his icecream and smiled.

 

"You know, this isn't really that hard once you get the hang of it."

 

Princess Celestia

Celestia walked in the door with two guards.

 

"I see your training is going well, I have had a room prepared for you and your brother. Besides, you have a visitor. I'll have her meet you up there once you get settled. I'm having your things from Ponyville brought here tomorrow"

 

Corkscrew

Corkscrew looked at Celestia, than the two guards, that to Luna, and back to Celestia.

 

"I know what this is!" Corkscrew said in anger. "I'm being locked away! You never had any intention of letting me return to my normal life in Ponyville!"

 

Celestia

"That's not true. You shall live the life of a prince. You can go anywhere in the castle grounds, you can go see your friends in the barracks."

 

Corkscrew

"My friends in the barracks? Do you even remember what my training was like! They hatted me! Despised me! Calling me Celestia's pet!...You knew! You knew that Mars was my ancestor! You knew and never told me! Let me guess, you feared that his sole would some day find me and turn me into this!"

Corkscrew's blood was begining to boil. He had never been so angry with anypony as he was with Celestia.

 

"And what about my friends in Ponyville, Will I still be able to see them?"

 

Celestia

"Fluttershy and her friends, yes. The can come and visit you, but it's better if everypony else believes you died defending Ponyville from a changeling attack. We don't need the kind of publicity of what you've become. A statue is being erected in front of your house where you helped save Ponyville. In time, you will appreciate what I've done here. It's far better that the alternative, a trip to the moon."

 

Corkscrew was shaking with anger at Celestia. He was about to blow and go full nightmare.  He looked to Little Fire and Luna to try to keep calm.

 

"If you'll excuse me, I have a statue to dedicate." as Celestia left the room

 

 

It seemed that she was too late to join Corkscrew in the throne room, so she paced outside, waiting for him to come out. "Oh no!" she muttered to herself. "What if he gets exiled for having the evil inside of him! Will we ever be able to see him again?" She tried calming herself, but it wasn't working. All she could do was wait and worry.

 

"Oh, Hello Fluttershy," she said with a smile. "You friend is expecting you in his new quarters. He'll meet you there. He'll be living here from now on. A guard will show you the way."

Fluttershy was startled when the doors suddenly opened and out came none other than Princess Celestia herself.  She gasped and bowed.

 

"Oh, Hello Fluttershy," she said with a smile. "You friend is expecting you in his new quarters. He'll meet you there. He'll be living here from now on. A guard will show you the way." 

 

New quarters? she thought to herself.  Living here from now on?  Oh no, did she...  "P-P-Princess?" she asked.  "You d-didn't... lock Corkscrew up in the dungeon, did you?"  She supposed that being locked in the dungeon was better than being exiled or being exiled and then locked in a dungeon in the place he was exiled to, but she still wanted Corkscrew to go back to living his normal life in Ponyville.

"P-P-Princess?" she asked. "You d-didn't... lock Corkscrew up in the dungeon, did you?

Princess Celestia

After the princess had left, the guard pony escorted her to Corkscrew's living quarters.  Upon arrival she thanked the guard and knocked on the door.  "H-hey Corkscrew," she said.  "It's me, Fluttershy.  I just wanted to make sure that you were okay.  Can I come in?"

Twilight smiled at Corkscrew and Little Fire how happy they are. But Twilight stills worried of Fire " How did Fire was changing colors when he was hugging Corkscrew" Twilight thought to herself.

But right now Twilight was hoping this well help Corkscrew to control his magic.

 

Little Fire

 

Little Fire was watching Corkscrew using his magic and the sometime eating his icecream. " Go Big Brother Go us that Magic" Fire was yelling on top of his lungs. And then Fire kept on watching Corkscrew and tell him " After you finish training you can have some icecream to Big Brother" Fire said with a smile.

 

Twilight and Fire

 

And then Princess Celestia come to the training room Twilight look at the Princess. The Princess tell them Corkscrew his things was being brought here.

 

Fire was happy to know Corkscrew was going to live here in the castle. Fire stared to jump excited for his Big Brother.

 

Fire happiness shot down see Corkscrew was angry at Celestia. Fire look at Twilight asking " Why is my Brother is angry with Celestia and what is Mars?" He ask her. Twilight look at him and tell him " You need to ask your brother he need to tell you not me."  

Fire look at her and nodded his head.

 

Little Fire

 

Fire saw Corkscrew so angry at the Princess he ran to Corkscrew and jump at him and give he a Big Huge. " Big Brother you do not need to be mad at the Princess please" Fire beg him. " I well be by your side Big Brother and try to keep you happy and Fluttershy well to" Fire said with a smile.

 

Twilight

 

After the Princess let the room Twilight look at Corkscrew noticing he was still angry. And then something hit her what about Fire who sacrifice himself to save Ponyville and Corkscrew. "Yes Twilight," as Celestia stopped so that Twilight could catch up with her.Celestia let out a sigh.

"As you know, Fire and Corkscrew both fought valiantly agents the changelings till you could use the elements to drive them off. The last thing that most of the residents of Ponyville saw was Corkscrew near death laying in front of his house. I'm going to let them believe that he died defending you. Saving the pony he cared for, Fluttershy."

"As for Fire, the statue is of Corkscrew and Fire fighting back to back and will have the words friends till the end, defenders of Ponyville."

"Twilight, there's something I should have told you back when this first started. Corkscrew is a descendant of Mars. Mars was the very first guard captain, and a powerful unicorn. He had a daugher to a Pegasus mare that we didn't know about at the time...Corkscrew is the first male decendant from his bloodline which allowed him to return. Anyhow, Mars went mad with power, turning the guard into an army, bent on conquering Equestria. I had to banish him to the red star that you can sometimes see on a clear night, however unlike Luna, Mars died on that star after only a few years."

"When his spirit merged with Corkscrew, it gave him the powers of a unicorn....the nightmare part...I blame the changeling parasite for that. Corkscrew and Fire will stay as guests of the castle for as long as they live. Ponyville, or Equestria for that matter, do not need to know the nightmare details. Let the townspeople have their happy memories of Corkscrew and Fire."

suddenly, there was a knocking at the door.

"Twilight, I'd like for you to come with me to Ponyville for the statue dedication. I will be giving the speech for Corkscrew. I was hoping that you would like to give a speech for Fire, seeing as you and Corkscrew knew him the best. Just remember, No Nightmare, no Alicorns. Nothing happened after the battle. I know it's not what we wanted, but we must keep Equestria safe, and this is the only way. Fire is fragile now, and Corkscrew is just one small tick from going full nightmare. You must understand. If our enemeys got hold of this information, it would be an all out frenzy."

 

Meanwhile in Ponyville

A week had passed since the Changeling invasion, the town was starting to return to normal.

"I didn't have enough money for the train ride here to look at the house, I could barely afford the trip here today..." she said, nervously laughing. "I just bought the house so I had an excuse to get away from home, really. I think it'll be fun to fix and paint, and everything... I hope so anyway."

 

A dusty old kettle sat on a counter in the kitchen, "I don't really trust the fireplace... so I'm afraid I can't make us any tea." She said, trying to remember the sort of manners ponies use when they had guests over. She realised that Music was actually her first guest ever.

 

Music said something about getting ponies to help her fix up the house.

 

"I-I wouldn't want to impose on anypony..." she began, "bu-but I suppose I wouldn't want to turn away the help of a friend...." she said thoughtfully. Music was pretty much her first friend, and she wasn't entirely sure if it was normal for friends to help each other fix houses... but if that's what Music wanted to do...

Plagal said.  "I'm doing fairly well, thank you.  And yourself?  Oh, no, I hadn't heard about the Princess...  I wonder what the occasion is?"  He wasn't surprised that he didn't know; he had never been the kind of pony to follow events or holidays very closely.  He had stopped counting the number of times he had slept through the Summer Sun Celebration, and Hearts and Hooves Day was still a holiday that he refused to acknowledge the existence of.

 

"A new pony in town! Do you want to help me welcome her?" as Pinkie ran off to the train station.

Dogboots had gotten out of bed. It had been a while since the invasion and his injury had healed up quite nicely. After eating a rather meager breakfast that consisted of only bread and what was left of the juice. The stallion had decided to head out and pick up some groceries. He still had plenty of bits saved up which would be more than enough to supply himself with food and what he would need for his garden.

Pinkie looked back over to Plagal. "Speeking of Corkscrew, I havn't seen him since he went the day after the battle when he was checking on everypony. He didn't look too good then. Do you think something might have happened to him. Fluttershy seamed upset when she dropped off Angle with me and she had his cat."

 

Pinkie stopped to think for a moment. "Come to think of it, I haven't see Fire lately ether."

That why he is stay but why Fire he didn't turn to Nightmare why you need to keep a eye on him." Twilight ask her.

We think you and Fluttershy should talk in you room" Luna tell Corkscrew. " And we well continue your training tomorrow Corkscrew" Luna tell him. Luna look at some guards and tell them " Guards saw our guests to they rooms" The guests walk to Corkscrew and Fluttershy.

 

Then Fire ask Luna if he can follow her she look at Fire " Why you went to follow me " she ask him.

 

Fire said " I want to see the caster if you not mind " Fire ask her. Luna look at him " If you wish but ask you brother first OK " tell him.

Fire was happy to see Flutttershy here he jump to her and said " Fluttershy how here today are you here to see Big Brother what about me you do not what to see me to." Fire look at Fluttershy at a sand look on his face.

Corkscrew's... brother?"  She wasn't sure if anypony had actually told her the name of this mysterious little colt.  In fact, she didn't think that she had ever seen him until he showed up earlier in Ponyville.  There was something vaguely familiar about him though, but she couldn't quite put her hoof on it.

That why he is stay but why Fire he didn't turn to Nightmare why you need to keep a eye on him." Twilight ask her. " Are you have something plan for Fire and Corkscrew something you can tell me Celestia" Twilight ask.

"Twilight, Fire is here because I beleve he is he only thing keeping Corkscrew stable.

 

Little Fire Fire noticed Corkscrew was getting serious to Fluttershy. Fire walk to Luna ask her " Why Corkscrew got so serious to Fluttershy did she made him mad" Fire ask her. Princess Luna She look at Fire what he ask " No she did he wants to talk to her something important to tell her Fire" Luna tell him. Luna turn to Corkscrew and tell him " Ok Corkscrew we think is time to end your training for today. We think you and Fluttershy should talk in you room" Luna tell Corkscrew. The stallion's eye twitched just slightly at the princess's name. Having her come here, made the earth pony more than uncomfortable. However, the stallion wasn't going to sabotage just because he didn't like her visiting Ponyville.

Mayor Mare

 

The mayor had been quite busy lately. With the Changeling invasion and other recent events, it would be a long time before she could even relax. Her desk was literally cluttered with stacks of papers containing reports, grievances and claims.

 

"Could this day possibly get any worse?" She said to herself before her head fell to the desk.

 

"This a bad time?" A voice had asked. The mayor looked up to see Dogboots. He hadn't been seen for in a while. It was almost like he was a hermit in the town.

 

"No, Dogboots. Is there something you need?" She asked forcing a fake smile.

 

"Pinkie Pie has informed me that Celestia will be coming here tonight. According to her, she'll be setting up a stage across from Corkscrew's place," The earth pony said in a formal tone trying to be polite.

 

The mayor sighed and couldn't believe it.

 

"I guess I did spoke too soon. Alright, if Pinkie has it handled then I leave it to her," She said trying to remain calm and composed when really she had been freaking out on the inside.

 

Dogboots soon left and headed back to Pinkie Pie to inform her of what had transpired which made the stallion glad that he wasn't mayor. He couldn't see himself being a leader.

"Don't you ever say anything like that ever again!"  Then, having realized that she just yelled at Corkscrew, she stopped and blushed.  Calming herself, she continued, "Um... what I meant to say is... well... you saved us all back there.  What do you think would have happened if you were, um, finished off?  We couldn't have gathered the elements and fought the changelings off.  We would have just become changeling food!  Do you really regret stopping that?

 

"No matter what you say, I know that you're still the same old Corkscrew I was friends with.  Your little brother seems to think the same." She looked down at the kitten that had settled by Corkscrew's hooves and added, "Even Pookie knows that you're still you!  It seems like the only pony who doesn't know who you are... is you."  After a little bit, she looked down to her hooves in shame.  "I'm sorry," she said, "I'm not helping, am I?  I'll... I'll just be going..."

The only thing that I can think of would have to be the changeling invasion, but other than that. Luna and Fire was walking in the castle Luna look at Fire noticed he was not saying anything. Luna ask him " Are you Ok little Fire we noticed you have didn't say any word" Luna said to him.

 

But he didn't answer back to her. Luna stop and look at Fire " Are you OK Fire" Luna ask again.

 

Little Fire

 

Little Fire look at the Princess and said " I am ok luna" Fire said it in a sand tone. " I well like to Fly with my Big Brother but I can't my wings are injured in a way I can't use them at all" Fire tell Luna.

 

Princess Luna

 

Luna tell him " We can heal your wings Fire and you can fly with him" Luna smile at him. Luna put her head down and put her horn on his wing. Her magic stared to glow and it surround him with a dark blue magic and his wings stared to heal. In a second is wings are heal Luna pick up her head and tell him " Now you can fly now Fire we heal your wings now" she smile.

 

Little Fire

 

He flap is wings and jump so happy he huge Luna tell her " Thank you Luna now I can leard to fly now with my Brother" Fire said while jumping around her.

 

Princess Luna

 

She smile and said " Now you back to normal now Fire." She tell him " let's continue" Luna said to him. They walk until they got to the castle gardens " This is the gardens we like to go here this place we can think here in peace" she tell him. 

 

Little Fire

 

He look at the gardens and tell her " I know if Fluttershy well love it here it have all cine of animals here." Fire walk to the gardens and jump around in it he was having fun here. Here tell Luna " Come and play with me Luna" He ask her.

Luna look at Fire and tell him " We can't play as a Princess of the night we have be proper."

 

Fire look at her and said " If you only work on your job you can be a sand and angry pony. And know pony will not like to be your friend at all" Fire tell the Princess. Fire look at the sky and saw the sun was going down he look back to the Princess. " Princess Luna I think I need to go back to my brother it's getting late" he said.

 

Luna look at him and smile at him " Yes we think it is time you go back with your brother" Luna walk to the entrered they entered. " Ok Fire time to go" Luna said to him and they walking back in the caster.

 

Fire was happy he can fly now he keep on trying to flap is wings but know luck he can get off the ground. He look at Luna " I can't wait I will like to fly now" Fire said.

 

Luna tell him " You have to wait we will tell Corkscrew to teach you how to fly." She saw he was not happy he has to wait but he was ok with it.

 

When they got to the room were Corkscrew and Fire will be living in now they saw Fluttershy leaving the  room.  " Oh Fluttershy are you leaving for tonight I can got some guards to take you to the train" Luna offer to Flutershy.

 

Fire saw Fluttershy and ran to her " Look Fluttershy now I can use my wings now why can you stay here and see me fly as fast as my Big Brother" Fire ask and bag her to stay.

"Alright, might as well get started," He said before grabbing a few tools and getting started on the stage. It was a pretty dull job though nothing the earth stallion had done. Setting up the lights, curtains, etc. To get it all ready for Celestia's arrival.

 

"I think it would be best to stay away from the princess. Soon as I get done with this, I'm just going to stay home and keep my distance,"
