The stallion felt a little bad for being blunt with Twilight and it was a bit of a bad habit for the stallion. He sighed knowing that he would be a bit more specific. Besides, the stallion didn't know much about her views on earth ponies or her own agenda. "Look, just because I don't respect royalty doesn't mean I don't like them as a pony." He said to her before leaving the book store. Who knew? Maybe the stallion would end up being friends with her.

 

 

 

Corkscrew

 

"That's good to hear it Max. It wasn't that bad....but wouldn't quit your day job," Corkscrew laughed. "I'm proud of you there buddy. You admitted you had a problem and are working to fix it. If I may ask what got you to admit your problem?"

"Hey, Corkscrew. I have the party supplies as you wanted. So, what's your idea?" Dogboots said approaching the orange pegasi after leaving the library. Though the stallion didn't really know much about why he was here. All he remembered was meeting up with him and some party supplies.

A cream colored earth pony with a sandy mane stood in the town square.  He looked around at all the ponies and almost felt overwhelmed.  Ponyville may not be a big city, but it's way bigger than the village he used to go to when his parents took him to "town."  Appleoosa looked like a small, haphazard pile of wood compared to Ponyville.

 

"Maybe that's why it's called 'the sticks,'" Phillips chuckled to himself.

 

He sat on the side of the square, his screwdriver cutie mark matching the one stitched on his saddlebag.  He was here.  Now what was he going to do?  He wished he had more experience with other ponies as he felt confused and a little scared.

"Hey Dogboots. You just missed me deafen the entire town." Max said jokingly.

"You just came from the library right? Did they have any books on addiction treatment? I want to kick this thing quickly so I can get on with my life." He glanced over at the board and saw that there was a race being held. Max brightened up for a moment, then realized he had a broken wing.

"Hey, I know I got an addiction and all, it wouldn't hurt to try a recipe for a medicinal potion to heal my wing would it? I king of wanted to compete in that race..." Max was trying to think why the potions he was making were narcotic.

"Well...I do have a book on addiction here." He said handing the book to Max. Dogboots was skeptical at first to even have the green pegasi use another potion. "I don't know Max. I means what's stopping you from relapsing?" He asked Max wondering how it would help him.

Max began flipping through the book he was handed, looking for the one section he needed.

"Packets...Perfume...Pills...Here we are! Potions." Looking through it, he saw an image of a root that looked awfully familiar.

"The Fintar Root is a common ingredient in novelty potions. It is very narcotic, only found growing in the Everfree Forest, and is outlawed in Equestria and Draconia." From that passage, Max knew the problem.

"Here, take a look at this root." He said, handing the book back to Dogboots.

" I have been harvesting this root from the Everfree for weeks now, and that's the addicting thing. I don't use it in any potions I sell publicly, thank Celestia, but it is illegal and I have about 2lb of it back in my lab. That means that my new potion recipe should be safe, as it doesn't use the root in it." He couldn't believe he missed it. What a foolish mistake.

"Very well then, but before you do that, I'm going to dispose of this root for you. I'm assuming that it's in your lab?" He asked Max. Dogboots knew that the sooner he got rid of that stuff the better it would be for Max. The stallion's gaze soon shifted towards a poster that was pinned on a tree about some race going on in town. "Definitely not for me. I may be a work horse but i'm not going to participate in anything as trivial as a contest of speed. Besides, the pegasus ponies here would definitely outrun me." He thought before returning his attention to Max.

Twilight

After Dogboots said to Twilight he doesn't hate royally as much. Twilight smiled happily to Dogboots and said " Thank you for being understanding Dogboots and have a good day" She said to him. Dogboots left the library Twilight wave good bye to him.

 

Fire Star

Fire was confused with Dogboots "Did he felt bad for his response he gave to Twilhgt" Fire thought to himself. But Twilight was happy now looks like Twilight forgive him. Fire thought " Well she forgive him looks like I do the something to." After he left the library Fire walk to Twiiight and said to her " Looks like he was not a bad pony I thought he was" said to Twilight. Twilight look at Fire and tell him never judghe a book by it's cover she tell the Fire. Fire look at Twilight and said " Ok I will never well do that again promise" Fire smile . Fire then said " I have to go I need to put my groceries away.Well Twilight I will leave you with your studies bye Twilight. Fire said. And he left the library and going to his home.

"Ok Fire have a good day too" Twilight said with a smlie. After he lelf she went back to her studies.

"Yeah, the root should be disposed of..." Max found it surprising that the words hurt coming out.

"It is just the addiction getting to you. It is illegal and must be disposed of." He steeled himself.

"Let us return home so that I can begin formulating the remedy, and you can begin disposing the root. I would do it myself, but, uh.....I don't know if I could bring myself to do it." He whispered that last part almost as low as Fluttershy. He didn't want to admit that he was still very vulnerable to addiction.

"Very well then." He replied before the two made their way back home. The way back was uneventful, but the stallion still felt uneasy about letting Max make another potion. Eventually the duo had reached their home but before Max could even proceed to his lab the stallion had stopped him. "Before you get started on that potion, I'm going to get rid of the root first. So stay here for a bit while I take care of this." He said before heading to his room to retrieve the key to the locked lab.

Max looked baffled. His lab entrance was heavily fortified with chains and locks.

"You...barricaded my study? To keep me from making potions? I don't know if I should be pissed or grateful." Max said in a deadpan tone. He didn't protest to Dogboots going in to dispose of the addictive root, but he still had mixed feelings about his friends actions.

"Max if there's one thing I've learned in my past travels it's this...always be prepared." He said unlocking the large lock and pulling off all the chains. It took a few minutes before the door was finally unlocked the locks and chains were strewn about all over the floor. The stallion entered the lab and began looking for the root. He soon checked one of the cupboards and found the a large container that carried the ingredient. It looked exactly like the picture in the book that Max had shown him earlier. "Now before I get rid of this is there anymore that you have here?" He asked max while putting it away in one of his saddle pouches.

"Well enough, I don't think my voice is degrading, so I must be doing fine...but eventually, ponies might get tired of hearing me sing...might want to find a better job...I just wish I could see you more often. Well, awake, that is." He smiled, "Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy seeing you and spending time with you, no matter what."

 

Winterglade chuckled. Fender always know how to make her felt a bit better. She often felt a bit guilty for picking the night shift, but it was the only shift she could get for now. "Don't be like that. Your voice is good! I'm sure that there are some ponies out there that love to hear you singing." Her eyes trailed for a bit before locking to a closed envelope near the front door's mat. She rolled her eyes and stepped down to retrieve the envelope. "Must be the mailmare again," she mumbled. There was nothing on the envelope that can be used to indicate who sent it, so the mare brought it to the table.

 

Winterglade tore the envelope open and pulled the only content out for her to read. "Seems like we got a mail here. I wonder who sent it-" She paused. There were only three sentences and a single name on the paper, but that was enough to sent her brain to a high gear. She closed her eyes, her teeth gritted. A long sigh.

 

"Um, Fender?" She finally spoke after a few moment in silence. "My mother is having a trouble back in my old house in Manehattan. I... think that maybe somepony is sick." Another pause. She held back a sigh. "I'll need to go there as soon as possible. I'm sorry, but there is not much time. I'll have to take the train without packing anything other than my cape and some bits."

 

The mare jumped off from the chair and trotted back to her bedroom to fetch her cape, but she stopped halfway to look at her stallion. "You can stay here if you like, but I'm not sure if I can return here soon."

 

 

(OOC: Welp, it has been quite a ride, guys. Too bad I couldn't really keep this up. Things has been quite hectic over here, and with my friends planning another RP I'll have to let this one go. I thank you for bearing with me for all this time. Especially Corkscrew and Fender, thanks for the ride.

Max quietly entered the room, and approached a nearby wall. He pulled on one of the coat hangers on the wall, and a piece of it slid into a crevice, revealing a much, much bigger lab. It had an insane amount of shelves that contained potions, ingredients, several clear whiteboards that had potion formulas written on it-heck some were written on the green tinted white walls- and several workbenches and set ups. He approached a shelf and pulled out 10 large sacks full of the root. He calmly-but coldly-walked over to Dogboots and handed him the sacks as if he were giving his first born son to Discord himself.

"Here. And do me a favor: pretend you never saw this." Max deadpanned.

"You can stay here if you like, but I'm not sure if I can return here soon."

 

 

Fender grabbed all of the nearby bits laying around the house as quickly as he could, most of them came from a jar where he saved bits for emergencies, of which he had about 750 in total.

 

"If it's your family, I will be by your side the whole way." He had some worry in his voice, accompanying a serious tone, but he would hold steady.

 

He took his last pain pill for his torso injury, loaded his saddlebag with the bits he had, and lead Winterglade outside with him.

 

The two went to the train station in silence. They paid for their tickets and prepared for the lengthy journey ahead, then took a seat in their room in the train. "I'm sorry this has happened. We'll pull through this."

 

The train started moving away from Ponyville.

 

Winterglade seemed tired from worry, or maybe even discontent or anger...Fender couldn't be sure.

 

She laid her head against his neck, he bent his head down and kissed her on top of the head. He wasn't sure he could say much else...so he started singing softly.

 

"I hear the wind call your name 

It calls me back home again

A moment passed, he couldn't comprehend how somber she looked, and before she passed into a realm of dreams...he spoke three words once again, as they left sight of Ponyville "I love you."

 

With Winterglade asleep against him, as hours passed, and Fender sat there wondering what lied ahead. He knew there might be troubles for them, but with Celestia as his witness...he swore to himself he would pull them both through it, no matter what happened. He leaned his head against the window, and aimed his eyes toward Winterglade. As she slept, she looked at peace, and Fender knew there was nothing he wouldn't do to make her smile every day of her life.

 

A tear ran down his face as he closed his eyes, and joined her in sleep, in hopes that they may meet in their dreams...

"Remember what?"Dogboots said trying to lighten the mood a little though he wasn't surprised that Max had extra root hidden. The stallion knew others who had addictions though he himself never had to deal with those ponies. It was common sense that most that had an addiction would stash even small portions of it. The stallion soon headed outside with his saddle bags full of root. Though he had no clue how to get rid of the stuff. He knew that if even burned it it would end up causing attention. Hiding it in the forest wouldn't do much good either seeing as how Max would probably go out there eventually and find it. Dogboots knew only one other way to dispose of it and he loathed the idea but it was for Max and he had to swallow his pride.

After his chat with Dogboots, Plagal began heading towards the Town Hall, in hopes that perhaps they would know of some sort of job to get himself at least a little bit of income.  On his way there though, he overheard a conversation between two mares.

 

"Where do we go?" She looked around. "Uh... hello?"

((A little help some pony? We sorta need a guy to manage their buying of the house... ))

Plagal sighed.  He knew that there wasn't much that he could do to help them, but perhaps he could at least point them in the right direction.  "Ah, hello.  You must be new here I imagine.  Unfortunately, I'm not exactly the most qualified pony to help you, though I would assume that there's somepony in the Town Hall who could help you.  I was actually just heading over there now if you wanted to accompany me."

"Well, I'll let you two take care of that root issue. With the day I've had, I think I'm going to find a cloud somewhere and take a nap." Corkscrew chuckled.

 

He takes off for the nearest cloud and lays down, His head throbbing from lack of sleep. He gets about a 15 min nap before he is awoken by DarkSun's voice. He sees that he's helping Rairity.

 

"Good for him," Corkscrew thinks to himself. "He has made some more friends. Now I can go back to sleep."

Twilight was in her study room. Then she hard a voice coming from down stairs. She went down stairs to see how there. When she get down she saw Dogboots back in the library but he has a saddle bag full of something. Twilight walk to him and ask " Did you forget something and what did you bring here."

Max closed the panel behind him, leaving him in his secret lab. He looked over one formula written on the wall, writings that are incomprehensible to anypony else. Lines were scratched out, equations were circled and underlined, and in it all, Max saw the way to make the potion desired. He went to one of the several work benches, and began formulating it. Carefully adding the different ingredients, making sure not to add too much or too little, keeping a constant but controlled heat on the entire thing.

"Lets see, the draconic regeneration chromosome shouldn't overpower the Pegasus tissue less I grow scales on my body..." Max muttered to himself as he worked. He finally finished, producing a single magenta liquid. If he had fingers, they would be crossed as he drank the mixture. Within 30 seconds, his wing reformed, damaged tissue being regenerated or repaired. He was good as new a minute later. He immediately wrote down the exact process and ingredients for future reference, and headed out the again. Re-sealing his true lab, he went out to town square to sign up for that race.

Dogboots knew that having the root around was illegal in all of equestria and he also saw the hilarity at the situation. Here he was standing in front of a princess with an illegal substance for potion making and he needed to get rid of it. The stallion kept composed and took a deep breath. "Listen I need help getting rid of this...root. I don't want to explain it but I can't burn it cause it will attract too much attention and burying it isn't going to help either. So....I was thinking that since your an alicorn who specializes in magic. Would there be anyway you could just make this stuff disappear?" He asked Twilight. Dogboots had no idea which was worse. Going to Royalty to help get rid of an illegal substance or the idea behind it all.

Corkscrew

 

Corkscrew awoke from his cloud feeling slightly refreshed but was still stressed. He could not figure out why for the life of him. It than hit him. He was stressed about the conversation that Twilight had with him about feelings. Feelings that he wished would just go away. He was a guard for goodness sake. It could never work out. What if he were to be reassigned? What if something were to happen to him? He couldn't put Fluttershy though that....but what if the mare shared feelings for him? His head felt like it was going to explode. Why couldn't he just ask Twilight or Rainbow Dash to ask Fluttershy about how she felt. A light went on in Corkscrew's head. He could ask his friend Dashie for help seeing their history together at flight camp.

As Corkscrew was Scheming his plan high upon his cloud, he hears a familiar voice and two new ones. He pokes his head down to see whats going on. He sees Plagal and two mares he had never seen before in Ponyville. He keeps to himself, fallowing the group in the direction of town hall. Corkscrew was going to ask Plagal for his advice on romance once he had a moment. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of the mares that where with him. He was hoping by hovering behind them he wouldn't be noticed, but it may have been too late.

Storm Cloud woke up in a tree. "Ughh, jeez I really need a house. I'll go see Mayor Mare to see if I can have the house that I asked for." Storm Cloud rolled off the branch and landed head-first on the ground. He yelled, "AWWW BUCK MY HEAD." He got up and rubbed his head as he took off to city hall. His vision was suddenly awful and he couldn't fly straight. He tried to trot his way to city hall but his legs were weak. His legs were so weak that he collapsed on the ground. He took his hat off and rubbed his head. He was looking around to see if anypony just saw what happened to him. He then laid on his back and tried to see if he stop his dizziness so he can go to Mayor Mre, or a hospital to see if he was ok.

Stella listened and nodded her heads as Ariel explained her knowledge on the weather. "Oh err yes, that would be perfect thanks!" She blushed and looked over at her bags. She grinned at the stallion who was helping out. She couldn't wait to move in! It was definitely going to be fun...

Aerial Shot smiled at Stella and the stallion, then turned to follow him. As she walked she heard the faint sound of flapping wings and her ear twitched and turned in the direction of the sound. Is somepony following us or something...? ... Oh! That would be good for a scene w- Wait, no, no time for that. She frowned and turned to the stallion, "Uh, do you hear something?"
