Hello! Welcome to another RP hosted by yours truly, BlackShardNixium. For those new to my RP's, nice to meet you! For those of you who have been to some of mine before, welcome back!

I'm excited to get started on another project of mine: Be Still.

 

This RP is set in the same universe as another one of mine. Thousands of years have passed since the events of MLP:FiM. The Mane 6 have become the immortal Guardians of Harmony and now reside in the heavens, having not been seen for centuries. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have disappeared, and in their absence, war has broken out between Equestria and the neighboring creatures that inhabit the Everfree forest, and many other mysterious places. In the sisters' place stands the King. No one knows where he came from, or what his past was like. He ascended the throne very soon after the Royal Sisters' disappearances and has since ruled with an iron hoof. He serenaded the masses with his talk of hope in a dark time, of change, of an end to the increasingly vicious battles between the ponies and the other creatures.

These days, most ponies are occupied with the ridiculous mendacity of daily life. They pay attention to ridiculous things: Reality TV, Fashion, Gossip; other than the horrible war commencing on their very doorstep. The King has lulled the masses into a trance-like state of complacency. They are like slaves. Asleep to the tyranny of Equestria's new head.

But in this time, there are the outcasts. There are those who are rejected from society. Pariahs, Vagrants, the ones considered "weird" and "abnormal", those left unnoticed just because they aren't obsessed with looks or mainstream media, or because they like certain things. They pay no attention to the mundane life of those around them.

And it is this quality that saves them all. These are the traits that keep them Awake. And the only way to save Equestria is to Awaken the masses.

 

Alrighty! So the goal of this RP is basically this:

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are gone, as are the Mane 6. They cannot help. A new King has ascended, a fraud, a wolf in sheep's clothing; and at the very same time, a war has broken out between the ponies of Equestria and their neighboring creature kingdoms.

The King has made the ponies careless and complacent. They don't even realize he is lying to them all. About change, about hope. He has turned them into slaves.

Their only hope is to be Awake. The Awakened are the only ones who can see the King's lies. Those who are asleep are still susceptible to the King's trickery.

 

This is also a romance RP! In the course of civil unrest and rebellion, and also war, there's gotta be romance. Have at it yall!

 

The Awakened- Awakened ponies are based off regular bronies today. Most bronies I know that have come out are bullied so mercilessly by those who are "Asleep". Those who haven't come out don't because they are afraid. We are the outcasts that make up the world. The Underground.

 

The Asleep- Sleeping ponies are based off of most people today. Obsessed with things like Reality TV, and Make-up caked all over their faces, and how skinny they can be, or what other people think about them. Just self-centered, mean people.

Surprisingly my alicorn character was not the first thing that came to mind when I saw this. I'll be taking out my newest OC for a bit of fun and experimentation . Since this is about war however, I might bring in the alicorn since his backstory is based on war, if his species are allowed that is.

As much as I love the design an input into your character, I am iffy about acceptance, I will give you as much of a chance with her as possible. What I was saying was that I wasn't going to pass judgement on an alicorn character. I'll be fine with it, just nerf some of the ultimate awesome DMing stuff.

 

And be aware that you may or may not be starting in jail. The King will, after all, want to remove any compitition to the throne...

 

Since I cannot accept my own character- BlackShard, do you mind if he is here? Story and all of that? He can be the reason to have Sweettums escape out of prison with him, seeing potential in her as the next ruler of Equestria. And there the adventuring party starts.

1) None needed, but if you play an alicorn, you need at least a little experience.

2) No book/video game. You're good.
