Animal Crossing Styled MLP Game

So the topic says it all. I was thinking of how My Little Pony could best make a console game and it seems to me that stylizing it after Animal Crossing would fit very well.

 

Some things I thought of:

 

1. Your job selection depends on what kind of Pony you are (Pegasus, Unicorn, Earth Pony).

2. Maybe base the towns off of real locations in Equestria rather than made up towns. And maybe you can visit them all? Maybe make some of them DLC? I dunno. I think that would work.

 

Those are the two main ideas I have. Other than that, the customizing you house however you want, designing new clothing and such, and character customization are all things that I think would work well in an Animal Crossing inspired MLP game.

 

And if you take into account the target audience, I think this would be one of the best ways to make an MLP game but still have it appeal to a wider audience.

Except it wouldn't really be Animal Crossing any more, would it? Unless you're keeping the diversity of animals and characters (I know there are only six script sets, but Hopper is still da man) it would be Pony Crossing. Given, though, a re-theming of all the Animal Crossing elements would definitely appeal to me I'm not sure how ponies are supposed to go fishing though!

OMG I used to play animal crossing all the time on my gamecube and DS! I freaking loved it. If an MLP game was to come into circulation like this I would buy it Immediatley. What consoles would it be on? A 3DS and a Wii U version would be good. Maybe feld0 could get in on this since he created these forums and the Wii U forums!

If Hasbro is smart, they should totally make a game like this. Animal Crossing gameplay would fit MLP perfectly. I would totally play a game like this if they ever made one.

I'd love a game like this, but there are a few problems. Now this is a great idea and has tons of potential but at the same time if Hasbro did do this they would have to put the same time and effort into this that goes into an actual Animal Crossing game. I mean what's stopping Hasbro from just making some half assed cash-in to please the target audience and the gullible bronies who will buy anything with Twilight's face slapped on it? I think it's a very good idea but Hasbro would have to really want this game to be good.

 

Now all that being said, the last two Transformers games [War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron] were amazing. I don't know if the Transformers Prime games are good but damn the Cybertron series was just outstanding. I know the two franchises are rather different, but if Hasbro got a developer who cared about MLP as much as High Moon cared about Transformers to make a game like this than OOOOH man would this be a fun game.

It just works on so many levels and is the best avenue to please younger and older gamers!
