My First Fluttershy Fan Art!

It’s based on my avatar.  Nothing special, just a very raw, uninked pencil drawing.  I know it needs further tweaking, but continuing to erase and redo the lines would’ve left this an utter, unrecognizable  mess.  I need to buy appropriate pens for inking and relearn how to modify scanned images so they look better.

 

Every fan artist has humble beginnings, so please go easy on me.

I LOVE the eyes (the way you connected the edges-I draw them in a similar style). Maybe I don't like Fluttershy, but for a first fanart, that's really good. Nice work! Hope to see more.

Awesome! You've captured Fluttershy's beauty quite nicely. Nose seems a bit blocky compared to the original, but it's a small thing that can easily be improved upon. Looking forward to more

Great job!!! The eyes are amazing! Better than I can do (though I'm working on making them better)! If I was to give you a little constructive criticism, and I will, I would say to maybe make the top of her nose should be smoothed out a bit and made a little smaller. That would make this perfect! For your first time, this is amazing!!! Awesome work. Fluttershy would like it!

Glad y'all seem to like it.     This may be my first attempt at a pony, but it's hardly my first fan art.  I'll be sure to give her a nicer nose in the future.

That's really awesome!

You did the hair, ear, eyes, and outfit nicely! The only problems I see is that the head is just a tiny little bit big and her snout is also slightly large.

Very impressive way to start your arting, friend!

 

Only two faults I can see is that the upper snout part thing, (nose) is too broad, too wide, but ye already know that. The other one is that the roots of her mane are slightly more toward the center, and slightly closer to the left eye (our perspective)

 

Oh, and something else. The beginning of her legs is far too rigid, too stiff. Ponies are all about cuuuuuuuuuuuurves. Remember that the end of a hoof is wider than the beginning of the leg, by the way- even though you didn't draw the ends of the legs, I can see you were thinking they wouldn't change much as they went down- and they do. Lookit:

 

 

I really like how you drew her mouth open, even I have some trouble with that simple thing.

 

A suggestion: Try to make the second highlight more apparent. I can hardly see it.

Another suggestion: Draw the lines in the iris! It's simple, and it makes it feel more complete if you put them in the right places.

 

Also, I'm not really a fan of how you connected the eye thingies so close together, but I think that's just personal preference, it doesn't really take much away from the art.

Thanks for the detailed feedback.  Being as though I was only following the avatar and drawing the top of her legs, I didn't think curves would be apparent at that point.  My next pony art will show the entire body and, yes, I'm well aware ponies have curves. 

 

I hope to ink my next pony also.  That will make the eyes and highlights stand out a whole lot better.
