Zygen 6,066 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 Well considering the site here consists of a good chunk of males watching a show for females I see no reason why someone would disagree with the other way around, unless they're just being kinda hypocritical really. I honestly find it to be overall more socially accepted overall, but then again I'm not a guy so idk. Regardless it's no more weird then us guys watching a show for girls, and considering I don't find it weird, well I guess that makes you watching a show for guys not weird either 2 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! ~Silver Essence~ 2,625 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 Calling a girl a faggot, truly we are living in the future... Anyways, don't worry harmony, I'm a fan of the original transformers G1 as well, and I got your back. As for me, I suffered as well, admitting I like the powerpuff girls made me embarassed and teased back in elementary, now, I'm glad to see other guys enjoyed the series! And for your question, yes, it's alright, we all have our preferences, I mean what's next, grown men liking something meant for little girls? XD Just kidding, but people are immature and unkind, it's all a matter of how to handle it.
Scootaloo Is Best Filly 578 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 Of course it's not weird. You are talking to a 30 year old guy who likes Friendship Is Magic and Littlest Pet Shop.OK, maybe it is a little weird to other people. But, I have stopped really caring what "Other" people think. The old transformers from the 80's was a classic. Don't let other people's opinion's get you down, some other people just have no idea what they are talking about. I used to love the Powerpuff Girls, and (I am serious when I say this BTW) I also was a huge fan of the Hannah Montana series on Disney Channel. 2 Facebook: Josh B. Ghost 173 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 tell them a faggot is a pile of sticks I thought that was another term for a cigarette. Now excuse me while I puff on this fag . So...back to the question. Of course we're all gonna say its fine to like stuff intended for a different target audience. Embrace it like the grown men who embrace MLP, and if someone hates on you for it, slap them don't focus on it. They're beneath you and not worth your time . Also, the YouTube comment section isn't known for the intelligent comments and debates it fosters, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just keep being awesome and don't feed the parasprites.
Lunas Husband 2,777 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I don't, because I like what I like and I love what I love. That's what makes me... me, is what I like and dislike and some other ponies may find it odd... I love MLP and for those who do I tell them "That's to bad" "Does not matter what they say, my sweet love! I love you! and always will." ~Princess Luna
Cyan Blue 946 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 LOL, you're posting this on a website that mainly guys hang out on to discuss MLP:FIM. Why would you think us bronies would laugh at you for liking transformers? xD. To answer your question, no it's not weird You took the words right out of my mouth. Flutter's lover <3 8,205 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Not really, I mean I see people all the time with Spongebob or Adventure Time apparel. So why should me liking MLP be any different? Then again I"m an open minded person. So not much strikes me as being "weird" aside from some of the locals around here.I'm a bit of an eccentric too. So. *shrugs* 1 Fluttershy's lover, she's my waifu. FoxyCryptid 4,330 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 (edited) I'd say no. I'm only 21 but I like quite a few things made in the 80s and early 90s. As for the girl thing, the world seems to have this double standard where girls liking boy things is considered cool and "progressive" but the opposite is looked down upon and seen as childish. It's really kinda stupid in and of itself. I thought that was another term for a cigarette. Fag is a ciggy(sorry, I have a cousin that calls them that and it kinda stuck), Faggot is a pile of sticks or a type of meatball. Hey everyone, as a pegasister I love My Little Pony: FIM but I also love another show, which was made for BOYS in the 1980s. Laugh if u want but I'm a fan of Transformers: G1. I know I've mentioned this a few times, but when I was on YouTube and I posted about me as a girl liking a boys show, everyone called me a faggot. Do u think its weird for a teen girl to watch a boys show made 30 years ago? Seriously? That shows not only immaturity, but I complete lack of understand of the English language and what that word means and implies as crass slang term and insult. I wasn't aware girls liking boys was ever a taboo in America.... Dashabel 381 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Girl, remember who you're talking to here! As Bronies/Pegasisters, we tolerate (and love, of course) and respect what everyone has to say, what they watch, their hobbies, blah de blah... And remember that this site contains a bunch of fun-loving guys (I should hope!) who love My Little Ppny: A show made for girls! And quite frankly, who gives a fadoodle cake about what you enjoy? Well, the people who do certainly aren't decent. Signature banner made by Champion RD92 You can't have a rainbow without a little rain
Scootalove 10,689 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 There is nothing really wrong with liking a show that has a different demographic, with a target audience that differs from your own. But in some ways, it's weird and it's not the bad kind of weird. It's more of the lines, of something unexpected. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Clockwork Chaos 219 November 20, 2013 Share November 20, 2013 you're on a Brony forum, i think it's safe to assume we all like something a little outside of our demographic XD
SomariFeyWright 776 November 20, 2013 Share November 20, 2013 I think it's perfectly fine to like something outside of your expected demographic. Then again, I'm the guy whose favorite manga is a shoujo, identifies most with girls, and who intends on wearing women's apparel when reaching adult years. My input's a bit debateable for this one. Skoll 1 November 20, 2013 Share November 20, 2013 You're asking if it's weird to like something outside of the target audience on a website dedicated to fans outside of the target audience discussing a TV show.
Fluttershyfan94 5,742 November 20, 2013 Share November 20, 2013 Not that weird for a girl liking a boys show, actually it's awesome when a girl is interested in something that guys are interested in. Also, since being a brony is a bit being against stereotypes regarding not being the targeted audience it would be weird if a brony would think it's weird. I guess on the outside, it is weird to like something that isn't targeted towards you but it's all about just doing what you like. 1 DA: http://fluttershyfan94.deviantart.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fluttershyfan94
Treble Bolt 1,122 November 20, 2013 Share November 20, 2013 It's not any different from female wrestlers and male ballerina's.....Heck, I'm a female Blacksmith, and I've never met another one yet, and I know a LOT of blacksmiths. 'target demographic' is more of a marketing ploy (just like boys like blue and girls like pink); gender steryotypes at its finest (pardon my spelling).
