Airy didn't care that it had been Windy Runner who had brought them here, all that was important was that Scmaps was alive. When Windy Runner was leaving, Airy felt something. He wasn't sure what exactly it was, but he had to talk to Windy Runner.

"Wait... Actually I... I do want to talk to you... at least for a moment."

He waited if Windy Runner stopped leaving.

Windy had been about to walk about the door, but upon hearing Airy speak, stopped. Pausing in the doorway as he was about to leave, he turned back to face Airy, his perceived rival and nemesis. If Airy wanted to talk on civil terms, maybe this could turn out ok. After a long pause, he said slowly, "I'm listening." before staring expectantly at Airy, waiting to see what he wanted to say.

Windy Runner reacted to Airy's words like Airy had expected him to react, even though he had hoped he'd react differently. Again there was this patronizing distance Windy kept with his words, a distance that took away a lot of Airy's courage.

But there was no return now. Airy had to speak those words, even though they would show a weakness compared to Windy Runner.

"I... I have to thank you for rescueing Scamps. I also need to thank you for helping me when Scamps fainted while flying me around. You... you showed me a part of yourself you had been hiding from me, from everypony, for an unknown reason. Deep inside you, deep under the egocentric and inconsiderate facade of yours there is a pony that owns a kind of honour beyond 'I am right, no matter what'. I... I just wish you hadn't hidden that all the time. It would have kept us all from a lot of trouble. Please... manage to handle your pointless skin-deep pride and be the pony you are inside, a pony you can be proud of. This pony would be able to be a... friend."

After Airy had finished talking, Windy stood still for a long time and mulled over Airy's words for a while. He eventually decided that Airy was truly wanting to bury the hatchet. Taking a deep breath, he began talking,

"Well, I really appreciate that Airy. And I guess I just, I have to be 'stronger' than everypony else to feel good. But thank you, that was really kind of you to say that. And I did let my pride get in the way, I just... I couldn't lose face! I couldn't back down, I'd look pathetic to Bolt! Or at least that is what I thought... Oh my gosh! I should go tell Bolt what happened! Thanks Airy, but I need to go! Although, I guess I can try my best to bring out the sincere pony inside me, and we can be... friends." Opening the door, Windy turned back and spoke one more time before leaving, in a much more chipper voice than he would have used when talking to Airy yesterday "I'll see you around Airy!" before turning and racing away, towards Bolt's cabin.

A few minutes later, winded and out of breath, Windy knocked excitedly on the door, glad to tell Bolt that they wouldn't have to worry about any more drama or bad stuff with Airy and Scamps, and would be able to enjoy the day in peaceful relaxation like they had planned. When there was no immediate response, Windy knocked again, in a more subdued, less loud, manner.

At the knock on the door, Firebolt jumped a bit. She had been staring blankly. Any regular pony would think the mare was devising a plan of some kind, but as per usual, her mind was on mute. The noise had snapped her back to the current, though. Quickly, she realized that the only pony likely to be knocking on the door was Windy. And, as an understatement, she did not want to talk to him. She had managed to convince herself to be flustered and irritated for no damned reason. She had a tendency to do that. It was not a good tendency.

Another knock made the mare want to swing the door open as quickly as possible, hitting the supposed Windy Runner in the face. She didn't, though. The door was unlocked, but she had no intent of it being opened today.

Scamps slowly woke up just seconds after Windy Runner left. She opened her eyes, and saw a beatiful shining and smiling face. She smiled back. "Hey Airy," she croaked. "I'm glad to see you. Although...not to sound distracted, but is...well, was Windy Runner here? I needed to talk to him, clear some things up."

She sighed, realizing exactly what she was doing. "You know what, never mind. I...I haven't really focused much on you, and it was a horrible mistake. I shouldn't have left you, then I wouldn't be here right now. Listen, when I get out of here, I'll do whatever you want us to do for the whole day. Upon not hearing anything in the cabin, Windy frowned. Maybe Bolt wasn't there right now? Well, that couldn't be possible. Not a pegasus to be deterred, Windy ran back up to the top deck of the boat, spread his wings, and launched himself over the railing. After a brief flight, Windy touched down lightly on Bolt's balcony. Looking through the glass, he saw Bolt in her cabin, looking... vacant. With a wide smile on his face, nearly bursting to tell Bolt the great news of his reconciliation with Airy and Scamps, Windy knocked lightly on the glass to get her attention.

((Haha Windy's far too stubborn to let not answering the door deter him!))

Hearing the knocking on the balcony door was the obvious proof to the mare's theory. It was Windy. With that, she didn't glance towards the door at all. That was unlocked too. But it was also considered trespassing if one were to enter without permission. Heck, it was trespassing to be on another pony's balcony without their knowledge of that. Obviously, Windy thought he was entitled to not follow this law.

Firebolt sighed softly, but didn't turn to acknowledge the pegasus at all. She didn't want to. His mere presence was irritating as it stood right now. And if he wasn't taking that hint, why would she even bother?

@,

Now Windy was downright confused. Bolt was right there in her room, and there was no way she couldn't have heard. Unless...

"Is she MAD at me? What on earth did I do THIS time?! I was saving somepony's life! What did Bolt expect me to do, just keep talking calmly to her about our plans for the day as Scamps drowned below us? I mean, maybe I could have said 'I'll be right back' or something, but I hardly think she'd be mad because of that! It must be something else... Well, no better way to find out than to ask her!"

((Oh Windy, you're so naive and tactless...))

Gingerly sliding open the door into Bolt's cabin, but not stepping inside, Windy said, "Uh, Bolt? Are you ok? I mean, you weren't responding, and I was worried. Is everything alright?" he asked, with a cautious tone in his voice.

Firebolt sighed. The stallion was blatantly oblivious to any rules of... law.

Knowing he would pry no matter what, Firebolt got up and turned to him.  She didn't say anything, though. She couldn't think of anything to say, more or less. The obvious was... exactly that. Or should be exactly that, with some ponies.

Firebolt's body position was a bit hunched over. Making her look a bit smaller then she already was. Not to mention looking more irritable then normal. As well as sad, as her eyes were partially covered by her mane.

@@@Windy Scamper@@Naturematthe,

Bolt certainly heard him, but her body language and lack of a verbal response only confirmed Windy's fears: Somehow, somewhere, he had screwed up big time. After a few moments of awkward silence, Windy opened his mouth, as if to say something, then thought better of it and closed it. Looking down to make eye contact with Bolt, Windy tried to non-verbally communicate his confusion and sadness. After a few moments of trying to non-verbally communicate with Bolt, Windy gave up with a sigh, and turned to leave. Spreading his wings, he said in a quiet, remorseful voice, "Bolt, I truly don't know what I did to hurt you. However, whatever it was, I am so, so sorry. I just... I don't know what happened. I'll... I'll see you later." Deciding not to wear his paper thin welcome out, Windy pumped his wings and took off into the air, heading back up to the boat deck.

Once he had landed, he began walking around aimlessly, however, he realized his path had brought him back to the nurse's station where Airy and Scamps were. The sight of the building made Windy even more sad; for in there were two ponies who cared about each other and would always be standing by each other's side, unlike Bolt and him. The very thought was too much for Windy to think about. Sinking down in a chair next to the nurse's station, Windy began to sob, not even caring who saw.

Airy nodded. "Windy Runner was the one who brought us here in the first place, the one who saved your life when you suddenly crashed. I talked to him before he left. I... I told him I don't want to hate him. Deep under his stubborn and inconsiderate facade I see a pony who knows what to do... but he forgets about it because of his pointless pride. I think he understood what I meant, and... I feel that he is very very sorry for what happened. And not in a "I want to keep my pride up" way, no, he truly means it."

Airy looked into Scamps' eyes. "But the even more important thing is that you are okay. I... I was worried you had left the room because I did something wrong... Can you tell me what really happened?"

((Now is the best time to introduce ma Storm of Roses. Link to her is in my signature.))

Firebolt sighed again. If he had understood what she was upset about, and had explained, maybe she wouldn't care anymore. Firebolt already knew she had established Windy was not cheating, but needed his confirmation on that ((Cos that's a thing. Same with saying I love you. Would get Urd to explain it for me, but Peorth pony is going to be love guru instead. :3)). She didn't even know why she was this upset about it. She just was.

Deciding the mare had had just about enough, she began to go to the hall where breakfast was being held. She hadn't really eaten anything yesterday, and therefore was quite hungry. Sitting down at an empty table for two, as there were no table for ones, Firebolt looked over the menu silently.

From the other side of the room, to Firebolt's back, another mare was sitting. By herself as well, which was odd for this mare. She had not made her presence known yet, but had been on the ship since the start of the cruise. She had been watching to see if her best friend had actually taken to her advice.

She had.

But, not at this moment. At this moment her best friend was alone. Alone and silent. Something bad had obviously happened. The mare wasn't too smart, but she also wasn't blind. Now, was the perfect time to make her presence known.

The mare had a short mane and tail, a darker brown then her coat - a tan coat - with some wisps of blonde every now and again. The mare had died her hair many a time, and now was so different from the natural hot pink, some ponies thought she was an entirely different pony. Of course, that almost never happened, as everypony knew the mare. She was the aromatherapist that every stallion in the town of Baltimare had tried to find an excuse to meet. The mare carried a light pink rose as a cutie mark - same color as her eyes - and also carried a very strong scent of roses.

Luckily for her, her best friend lacked a good sense of smell. So it was unlikely for her presence to be known. Even now, when she was almost standing behind her, with footsteps that blended in with the fairly loud atmosphere, the mare couldn't smell the rose scent. It was most likely due to the scent of the two pieces of freshly cooked french toast a waiter had brought about 3 seconds earlier. So, she leaned down to the mare's ear and whispered "Hai!".

This noise made Firebolt jump. Literally jump. Out of her seat. If she was a pegasus, she would be hovering right now. "Wha-- Storm?!" She asked in confusion. Not that she was was ungrateful to see her, Firebolt was still confused.

"You better believe it!" Storm of Roses said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. Even though she was not being sarcastic. She was never sarcastic. Ever. She sat down at the table Firebolt was also sitting at, and looked at her, as if waiting for her to dispel something. Firebolt had known Storm long enough to know what she was asking of her, and then began to tell her what had happened....

((I'll post again when something happens.))

She smiled. "Good. You finished up what I needed to say." She then sighed, knowing her story would sound absolutely ridiculous, and might even sound like she was cheating with Windy, in some twisted way.

"I had this nightmare last night. You had disappeared, eere hurt, and I needed some place to stay. The first house I came to was Windy's, and as I pleaded for help, he just mocked me, and threw me out to the streets to die. You see, after the incident at the bar, I've been really scared of him. I was afraid that my mere prescence would set off his pride, and I would be hurt, just like you almost were. After the nightmare, I was really afraid of him. Paranoid, I guess. I needd to fly to clear my head, and Windy was doing the same thing, I guess. I freaked out and blacked out in fear. He must have cushoned my fall or something, or else I would have died."

"Oh Airy," she said between cries and tears. "Please forgive me. I should have talked with you first. At the bar, I shouldn't have provoked Windy. I'm to blame for this whole mess, I ruined this cruise for all of us." She wrapped her arms around Airy's neck and began to cry on his shoulder.

He didn't move for a second. He blinked, and looked at her after a moment.

"Oh! Sorry. Um..."

He blushed, looking back at his glass.

"I don't know what to, Ocean. Really."

"Are you just going to be this way and see if she leaves you? Because that would be a waste of time in her case."

Ocean scratched her chin and looked around. "We could...check out the casino...or go see a movie or something. I'm fine with whatever...we could sit here and chat for the rest of the day too." She giggled and looked away from the group of ponies that had just come from the pool to look at Nightfall.

((Since Scamps is offline, and I had just been planning on having Windy get the heck outta dodge when you two tried to approach him anyways, I'll just have him run away right now. You'll be seeing him again soon))

Shaking his head and standing up, Windy saw Airy looking his way. "Oh no, I can't let them find out what's going on... I can run away! Wait, Windy, friends are supposed to support and help you! Running away from them defeats the purpose of having friends! Oh, I know what I'm doing brain, don't tell me what to do!"

Shaking his head sadly and turning away from Airy, Windy began sprinting away from the two ponies like his entire soccer career depended on it. Kicking open the door to a stairwell, he ran in and began running down the stairs at breakneck speed. Once a few flights separated him from the duo, he stopped to get his breath back. However, his stomach gave an almighty growl a few moments later, so he decided he could do with some breakfast. After a brisk walk, during which he managed to wipe away and conceal all signs he had been crying, Windy arrived at the dining hall. Pushing open the door, he trotted inside. However, after taking a few short paces into the room, Windy's eye was caught by a pony sitting at a nearby table. Making eye contact, he smiled broadly and began walking closer, not noticing at first that she wasn't sitting alone.......

"By Celestia, she's gorgeous! I mean, I'd rather just have Bolt talking to me again, but if she's gonna never stop hating me, I suppose I could make a pass at this mare...Wow... Wait just a minute, who's that sitting with her.... Oh no... White body, striking red mane... Oh c'mon! Why did I need to run into Bolt right now?! Now she's gonna yell at me and embarrass me again, but this time in public! And I still don't even know what I did wrong!!"

When Windy realized that Bolt was sitting with the new mare, his eyes widened in fear, and he became rooted to the spot.

"Well. I certainly get that much." Storm said, when Firebolt had finished her story. "Cos you're stubborn. And jealous. And stupid." If you wanted some reassurance, Storm of Roses was not the pony to go to. If Firebolt had known many other ponies, she'd probably like telling others her problems. But she didn't. And Storm wasn't lying, so being honest was... good. Right?

Storm was not one to pay attention to stallions taking attention to her. After all, they always did. It was called for. But when he froze with widened eyes, she did throw him a confused glance, hoping Firebolt wouldn't notice. She did, though. Then turned around, looked at the stallion quickly, then turned back just as fast with an irritated look on her face. It was obvious that this stallion was the one Firebolt was talking about.

Magic really wasn't Storm's specialty. Firebolt could easily levitate near anything. But, Storm definitely couldn't. At the same time, certain scents affected ponies in certain ways, and she could make said scents with her magic. The issue was that it would affect everypony in the room. With no exceptions. The only thing she could do was get up, and walk over to the stallion. Then hope he would listen to her.

@,

Windy realized that he was probably wasting his time, given that Bolt wouldn't even look at him, but knew he would be mentally kicking himself for weeks if he just gave up now. Trotting up to the table where the two mares were, Windy decided that maybe this new mare that Bolt seemed to know could act as a mediator between him and Bolt. Sliding a chair out from a nearby table, Windy plopped down at the table, being careful to keep his attention on the newcomer, not Bolt. Extending a hoof politely, he introduced himself, "Hey! I'm Windy Runner. Are you a friend of Bolt's?"

"Oh please, please, I pray Bolt hasn't told this mare a bunch of horror stories about me, otherwise this mare will shun me too!"

"Well... Hi. I'm Storm of Roses. And, yes. Storm said, somewhat struggling to pick good words to describe her current state of meeting the stallion. She couldn't say it was nice to meet him. That would be a lie. But it would also be lying to say it wasn't nice to meet him as well. But, she had now come off as a bit cold, as she hadn't shaken his hoof either.

Firebolt looked like she was about to explode with rage. It was surprising her mane hadn't already turned to fire and that she wasn't breathing smoke at this point. She had no ability to say a word, and Storm certainly wouldn't let her move. After all, earlier, they looked to be enjoying one anothers company. So much so Bolt hadn't even noticed Storm. So, Firebolt remained quiet. Until, Storm spoke up again.

"Bolty? Why don't you tell him why you're upset? Cos, if you can't I certainly will. And I never miss any details."

Firebolt said nothing, though. As if waiting for Windy to say something.
