Scamps fell a bit into the water as she was released, and her grin finally left her face as it turned into a concerned fornw. She swam up to Airy and rested her head on his shoulder. "Airy. It's okay. It was just a game. I love you, and always will. No competiton.and feg between us. And, I must admit, it was.fun while it lasted."

Airy slowly shoke his head. "It wasn't just a game. When... when I had you bound, there only was one step left to do... something that would have been no game but something serious. I... I really considered to actually do that... use that situation I had gotten you into for things that would have gone beyond the trust you give me... I... I am so sorry."

"But Airy...you didn't. And that means more than anything to me. That you love and care about me so much that you know what's best for me even if I'm telling you to do it anyways. I'm sorry for throwing you into that like I did. I should have known my limits, buf I know now that even then, you care enough about me to always protect me. And that's all that matters to me; what you did, instead of what you didn't."

Scamps' words let Airy calm down a little. "Thank you... thank you so much. THis... this really means so much to me. But... but still I am ashamed of myself that I even considered doing something like that... I... I just have no idea what had gotten into me. I... without you, I would have been lost now. But with the most caring, cutest, sweetest, nicest and most beautiful mare I know... I can get over such things. You really... changed me. You gave me back something I lost after my accident. And that's something I'd never want to trade for an ability to fly."

She looked up at Airy, finally realising what it was she loved about this colt. Though his loyalty, kindness and optimism were all amazing traits, it was his perservence and hope that she loved. Something she had also lost. Not because of drastic measures, but bdcause she had just accepted that life was awful.

 

"I don't mean to sound rude, but, we met because of wheelchair problems. If your accident had happenned....I wa sstill be moping over how awful this cruise is, Windy Runner would still be enemy, and there would be no love nor light in my life. You gave me a reason to live, and made my life more than just going through the daily motions. Now come on. We should head back." She finished, as she climbed out of the pool.

Airy followed his very special somepony and climbed back into his wheelchair. "I guess that's called a symbiosis. Cooperating so both take an advantage from it."

Airy had to laugh a little bit. Was there any chance he could sometimes stop speaking like a scientist?

"Well, where would you like to go? Do you want to get some lunch, play a board game, sing... All up to you."

Scamps shrugged. "I don't know. What do you want to do? I'm running out of ideas, if I even had ideas in the first place"

 

Well, he's back to normal..for now. As fun as that was at the moment, I never want to see him like that again. It was kinda...no, really scary.

 

So I guess we won't be at the pool anytime soon...

"So it's up to me now?", Airy asked carefully and started thinking. "Hm... I have to admit that I am a little exhausted, so shall we enjoy the sunshine while relaxing on the sun loungers? Or if you're hungry, we could get ready for lunch. The bill's on me, of course."

Airy still was thinking of other things. Any physical activities wouldn't be right in this moment, and honestly he was getting a little hungry.

"It's your choice, like I said. I've made enough decisions for us, and I think it's your tim eto decide. Just the once, at least."

Airy nodded. "I'd go with the lunch idea then. All that swimming and... tricking you made me hungry. We should prepare ourselves though, so let's head to our room first and get dressed."

Airy started walking towards the stage hall. "Oh, and before I forget that, what would you like to have for lunch?"

Well, at least he decide dwhere we are going. Because I've had enough with deciding, and then things going horribly wrong.

 

"I don't know. Whatever they're serving, I guess. Unless you want to do something different, like go to one of the resturaunts around here. Heard one of them had pretty good churros....not that anypony's suppossed to have churros for lunch, but still; churrros."

Airy nodded. "Sounds like a plan. We could have them as a dessert after our actual lunch. I think I even know what restaurant you mean."

Airy started walking down the stairs. Luckily his wheelchair was able to pass stairs, otherwise it would have been close to impossible to move around on the ship without any help.

We're almost there. I think they serve almost everything, so I guess we'll find something. Just a question... do you like wine?"

Her eyes lit up. Churros! Yes!

 

My Celestia, you have got to be kidding me. Of all the things to get excited about....

 

She then looked back at Airy to answer the question. "Um, no, not really. I mean, I don't mind it, but I don't exactly love wine. I don't really know why, I just...don't."

Airy smiled. "That's quite alright. I do like wine quite much and was just curious if you would mind drinking one glass with me. But I am perfectly fine if you don't like it."

They reached the room they had decided to share. "You can use the bathroom first, I'll take a quick shower once you're done."

"Oh no, I don't mind it, I just don't...like it. I wouldn't mind drinking one with you at all," she said, feeling bad

 

Okay, but din't come crying to me when you puke she thought as she went into the bathroom. She changed into a light yellow dress after drying herself off, then took out her headband and straightened her mane a bit as it fell down.

 

"Your turn," she called as she stepped out.

"Uh... ok." Firebolt said. She couldn't help but hold a small position, however. A cowerding position. She soon regained herself, though. "Is there anything else you'd not like me to do, then? I'd hate to bother you like that... And all of us do hate certain things... right?"

"No, its fine. I don't think I'd mind you doing that if I knew it was you... I just, it caught me by surprise, ok?!" he said in frustration. "Lets just drop the subject and get some pizza." he said neutrally, trotting over to the pizza stand.

"Alright!" Firebolt said, frantically switching her voice to sound overly chipper. Without saying another word Firebolt began to trot to the door of the Pizzeria, but then stopped to wait for Windy to catch up.

"You don't have to if you don't want. I totally respect if you don't like wine, it was just an idea I had", Airy replied with a smile on his face before Scamps moved into the bathroom.

Airy walked to the closet and looked for the tuxedo he had gotten from his parents once. This was a good time to wear it.

But when Scamps left the bathroom, his smoking was outshone by the dress Scamps was wearing. "Wow... You look amazing..."

Scamps blushed at the compliment. "It's really nothing, just a gift from my...well, parents."

 

Yeah, pretty much the last one ever. Was suppossed to be what you wore for your Junior Wonderbolt induction when you were sixteen. Surprised it still fits.

 

"Nothing special, I supposse. Anyways, it's nothing compared to what you're wearing."

 

"Should...should we go?"

Airy quickly took a shower and put on his tuxedo. "oh, it's just a regular tuxedo my parents bought once. My look is nothing compared to the one of the most beautiful mare in such a pretty dress."

He moved towards the door and opened it. "After you, my dear."

In the moment she passed him, Airy raised his hoof to stop her and give her a short kiss.

Scamps blushed. She didn't know what it was about tonight that made her different, that mader her blush. Myabe it was because of how close they were now, she was playful with him. Or maybe it was because now, she was vunerable.

 

But she stopped worrying. She didn't need to worry. She just needed to enjoy.

They got to the resturaunt and sat down at a table for two. And fancy Mexican Place with yes, churros. She looked over the menu, and saw one of her favorite dishes ever; taco salad. She ordered that quickly, even if it was odd to eat in a dress.

 

"Oh, sorry," she said to Airy. "I didn't mean to be rude and order quickly I just...want the food sooner. Which sounds even more impolite. But anyways, yeah. Sorry."

 

She blushed. Again.

 

((Not sure how to ponify "Mexico." Also, fun fact, I actually have eaten vegetarain taco salad in a dress.)

Airy hadn't even really started to actually read the menu when Scamps already ordered her food. "Oh Scamps, you really must be hungry! But don't worry, I also hardly can wait for my dish when being at a restaurant. Just... this time I have something that distracts me from the slowly moving time, something that makes me forget about it. And this something... is you."

Airy needed a while to realise how unromantic that sounded, calling his mare a "something". "Oh, sorry, of course I meant 'somepony', not something... Anyway, I think I'll take the chili burritos au gratin. I love spicy food!"
