Crystal nodded. She thought hard for a moment, and then, it hit her.

"One second." She trotted back inside to grab her sketchbook. Retrieving it, she came back outside, resumed her spot, and began drawing the first thing she imagined. She worked slower, as she needed the details to come to mind before she could visualize them. She had her tongue stuck out in concentration.  

 

Crystal seemed to be thinking about what Dusty had said, then she nodded and stood up, went into the building and shortly after, came back out with what seemed to be a sketchbook. Dusty nodded at her decision to try it out and smiied.

 

Highly interested and curious, Dusty then watched her starting to draw something . She worked carefully and seemed to be thinking about where to draw her next lines and curves, probably with the picture of her choice clearly in mind. He noticed her even sticking out her tongue a little, while she worked highly concentrated. He thought this looked really cute.

Neon Fire nodded and smiled shyly.
 
"Yep, that's me," she paused, thinking for a moment. "Your name is Flame, right?"
 
She hoped she got the name right.  She could always remember faces, but sometimes had a hard time with the names.  A million thoughts went through her head as she wondered what would happen if she got the name wrong.

After several corrections and about 30 minutes, Crystal finished a fully colored drawing from her imagination. It was the top arch of a rainbow, and on each color was a different type of environment. Red was a city, orange was a village, yellow was a dessert, green was a forest, blue was the ocean, and purple was the cosmos. Each environment was colored in different hues and shades of the color it sat on. It was surprisingly vivid and detailed for her first time drawing from the mind and not the eyes. The background was a vivid sky blue with puffy white clouds lazily floating by. In the corner was a small signature reading "Crystal Glow." She turned it to Dusty, uncertainty in her eyes.

"I-is this good?" She asked nervously. She had no idea how she did, because she never drew stuff that wasn't real.

Dusty had watched her sketching, correcting and perfecting her artwork until she had finished and even though it looked really complex, she was done surprisingly fast.

 

After she had finished, she held the artwork in front of him, wanting to shot it. Dusty looked at the drawing carefully. Not only was the Art she had done marvellous, it even had clear signs of ingeniousness in it.

 

The drawing depicted a parti of a rainbow, however, each color of the rainbow seemed to contain their own world. Each world was depicted with such detail, that each stripe of the rainbow could have been called a seperate Artwork of their own right. The background had been a blue sky, with complex cloud formations and excellent lighting effects.

 

Crystal had then asked him if her Artwork was good. "Good? Good doesn't even begin to describe it....., this is absolutely brilliant!" he said in excitement. "Wow, you are awesome. This is first real try to draw something you imagined? Then you are more than talented."

Now that was the nicest thing said to her since she first met Nexus. She looked back at it, and closed her sketchbook, setting it aside before leaning against the barracks again. She was thinking tirelessly of a response to such words, before getting out,

"I-thank you. I'm glad you like it. I just sort of..." She was scratching the back of her head.

"...made it up as I went." She finished. She was glad that her first attempt at creative drawing was a success. She just imagined it being a real place, and did what she normally did. It was almost like a trance, as she blocked out the real world while she drew.

Dusty had noticed that she was trying to think of something to say. When she had thanked him for the compliment, Dusty replied "You are more than welcome, Crystal. I really love that artwork, it is so mesmerizing."

 

When she said that she thought of the picture step by step simultaneously while she drew it, he was very impressed. "Your talent is a true gift. I am happy for you" he said cheerfully and with great sincerity.

 

He thought of the signature she had written under the picture. "Crystal Glow..." he said "That's a really beautiful name."

Apollo wasn't sure if she was being genuine or sarcastic. He just smiled and went back to the entrance.

 

As he did he noticed some of them ponies seem to hit it off. He was curious as to how they did but soon became disinterested.

Apollo approached the entrance and turned around to face the hallway. He then flared his wings as he got ready to make an announcement. 

"Alright, everyone! Once you settle in meet me outside and I can brief...I mean, I can fill you in on what we are to do next." He said.

While he waited for the guests to finish he thought it best to do some chores around the farmstead.

The singing of Dusty had caused her to poke out of her mane-based shield and admire his singing. He was quite good, adn soon Crystal was lost in it. Only when it ended did she snap to and return her face to hiding.

Dusty blushed even more, when she had complimented him on his singing. "T-thank you...Crystal." he said, a little flattered. "I...associate this song with happiness...I have only sung it when i was really happy."

 

And he was. This day, where he met this talented, kind and beautiful young mare, had been really great so far. And thanks to her, he knew this vacation was going to get even better.

She was glad he talked her into this. And was right.

 

Dusty was sunken in thoughts about the events of this day; his journey to the farmstead, the arrival, the first time he saw Crystal, the first time they talked, Crystal drawing that wonderful artwork and the beautiful moment they both shared right now; when he noticed Crystal had scooted over to him a little. He blushed and smiled.

 

"To me too, Crystal. I am glad we get to share this moment." Dusty said very gently.

 

"She is such a wonderful pony. I have never met somepony like her before...And i've been around a lot." his feelings told him. His heart began to beat faster.

Fire laughed. "Yea we beat each other up but we're still best friends...even if we still get into fights...rarely...they're usually over stupid things like who should be the first to go on the outside of the wheel." She said, matter of factly. She then realized that that probably made no sense. "Just a...circus thing." She said, her blush returning.

Rockshire still looked about the hallway, examining everything and each single detail before heading back outside.

 

Odd... It seems as though that every pony is already pairing up... Then again, the invitation did mention something about finding your special some pony.... Pfft, I highly doubt that I would find love here. Though this is a nice little, and very quaint place as well... Apollo has definitely performed a great job with this place...

Apollo had been working outside for some time now. He was currently carrying two buckets of nails on his back.

pulled weeds, built a fence around the crops, planted crops, now all i need to do is repair part of my house. He thought to himself.

Apollo then noticed a guest outside. He then walked over to the guest hoping to make small talk.

You definitely have the body for it." She smiled but her smile faded and she coughed after realizing what she had said may have been taken differently. "I mean...like...yea..." She said, blushing.

Eve shrugged, turning slightly pink. "I... I don't know about that," she said. She hoofed at the ground uncomfortably for a moment, then said, "I'm happy where I am. With my garden, you know? I mean, take a look at this stuff." She pulled a few odd-looking pieces of flora out of her satchel.

 

"These are some of the strangest and most unusual herbs in my collection. I took them with me because... Well, Rag and Tag would wreak havoc with them. But..." She pointed at a slab of something that almost looked like granite. "Yateveo bark. It makes the user incredibly hungry." She pointed at some ominous crimson stalks. "Blade of Blood Grass. Grants instant invisibility for a short amount of time." Evergreen seemed to delight in talking about her plants. "It only grows around active volcanoes, blood grass. Isn't that weird?" She poked at a wispy-looking root. "Hibernia Root. Induces forgetfulness." She pointed at some wriggling vine. "Flitterbloom. It..." She turned slightly pink. "Is used in love poisons." She stuffed all the plants unceremoniously back in the satchel, looking embarrassed. "There's more stuff like that in here, but it's all dangerous if you don't know how to use or combine them properly."

The serene landscape, the clear blue sky, this wonderful mare, it almost seemed like he was dreaming. But he was glad to know he wasn't. As Crystal slowly closed in to him, Dusty didn't realize he was sliding over to her ever-so-slowly as well. Soon, they both touched hooves.

At this point, the two were touching hooves. It was unusual for her to be so close to another pony, but she didn't shy away. She actually enjoyed the physical contact. She turned to face him, lifting both of their hooves up together, so that they were up to chest level. She opened her mouth several times in attempted speech, but nothing came out. She had nothing she could add. She debated what to do next. Does she make a move? Does he? What move is she referring to? A hug? A...kiss? So many questions swam through her head as her heart rate picked up tremendously.

Fire...usually would have found this boring, but coming from this mare...she found herself very very interested. "That's...actually really really cool. It kinda makes me want to start gardening." She giggled. "But I would need it to be portable...maybe I could put one on top of my trailer."
