Mine is that Changelings live in a Hive and are all Chrysalis' children. I don't really like the Fluttershy x Big Mac fanon. Sure, they look cute together, but if you look past, they aren't too compatible together. Big Mac isn't much of a conversationalist and Fluttershy is quiet and not too much of a conversationalist either. The main reason people like to pair them up together is because they are both quiet and while some similarities can work in a relationship, both being quiet isn't one of them. They wouldn't talk to eachother too much and would never get anywhere in a relationship.

Well, Dr. Whooves (Or Time Turner; whatever you want to call him.) resembles the main protagonist from the show, Dr. Who, and is a time traveler in that, so that is why people assume that.

 

Also, background ponies don't have canon personalities, so the fandom makes up personalities and characters for the background ponies. Just takes a bit of imagination.

i dont like the lesbian rainbow dash fanon at all. i dont know why but it just annoys the heck out of me. Anther aspect of fannon i dont like is shipping of the man characters, im fine with background pony shippings (Lyra x BonBon, Dr. whooves x Derpy, etc.) but i dont like shipping within the main cast.

The fact that Lyra and BonBon are rarely if ever shown as just friends in the fandom. Their together because the people that made the show thought their colors looked nice together.

Friendshipping, on the other hand... I could probably get into bigger fights about friendshipping than real shipping. TwilightxApplejack, RainbowxFluttershy, and RarityxPinkie are obviously the best friendshipping pairings. 

 

I also dislike Pinkie Pie fourth wall nonsense. Like ANY cartoon character, she abuses the medium to funny effect. Spike breaks the fourth wall more often than her.

Put me on the list of people who dislikes lesbian Dash, even though I do have a soft spot for some ships(namely PinkieDash, TwiDash and RariDash). For a show that fans praise for the characterization breaking stereotypes, the fans making Rainbow Dash a lesbian for having rainbow hair and being a tomboy is really dumb. Personally I like Chaotic Discord's idea of bisexual Dash.

Y'alls beat me to the whole "lesbian RD" thing, but just as annoying to me is gay Braeburn. Well, okay, he is gay in the overly cheerful sense, but you know what I mean.

 

Also, grimdark. Especially the godawful "evil Pinkamena" stuff...thanks a lot, author of Cupcakes! It all just seems so out of place in the MLP universe. That's not to say I don't have some headcanon of my own that involves war n' turmoil n' all that jazz, but if I were to start writing fics around that headcanon, I certainly wouldn't take the "blood everywhere, butchered ponies, carnage, bloody-blood oooooh" route that so many uncreative souls like to take. There's a fine art to depicting the darkness of war without having to resort to littering roads with corpses and all that crap.

 

That's about all I can think of that really grinds my gears, honestly.
