Dayz standalone thread

I made this thread so That people can talk about the dayz standalone that's rumoured to release sometime soon and what people think about it maybe going to consoles.

Well hopefully it'll be a vast improvement over the Arma 2 mod. I find the mod enjoyable, but after awhile it just gets repetitive IMO. I think it needs more substance in some way, which it sounds like they're working towards. Depending on how it's done I guess it could work on consoles, but I find that unlikely.

Ah, good to see there are fellow Zombie slayers amongst the forums.

 

I played the early Arma 2 versions and man was it glitchy, so I never got around to learning everything properly. I'm super psyched about the standalone though. I haven't been keeping up-to-date with all the news surrounding it lately but I plan on buy it as soon as it's released. I'll be playing as a Hero and not a Bandit. 

 

As for it going to consoles I'd doubt it at the moment. As far as I know they're using a modified version of the ARMA III engine? if they do decide to take it to console it'll be long after they release it for PC

I have not played DayZ, but I am interested in it. I will probably wait for the stand alone.

I'm here to reboot this thread months later because in fact DayZ standalone has been released! Still in pre-alpha and has its bugs but still addicting when you're playing with friends. Right now me and three other people are at the Northwest airfield. It was quite a journey to get there.   We are so loaded though and we are going to go back down to the coast and just kill everyone in sight!
